I'm not sure he did Le Mans but he did do the Autosport 1000km at Silverstone and came home second in class.

Talked with a friend yesterday and he was very interested to do a one week road trip with me which would include at least Spa24h and maybe visit to Nordschleife. So atm things are looking positive.

Wow his Double Overtaking was fantastic! How is he so much faster ? Others are lower class ?

Edit : oops it's not race, it's qualifying it seems. I must read utube titles more carefully

Anyone seen anything confirmed yet? Will it be only 2x1h race with GT1 World cars? They are only speaking about that format.

Yes the FIA GT1 will only have an extended sprintrace as far as i know. Can't find any clear answer for spa though. Would be shame to not see the 24H there anymore

No, there will be a 24hour race at spa. But not for the GT1 cars:

“The project we have so far discussed with RACE, the promoters of the 24 Hours of Spa, is to have a round of the FIA GT1 World Championship within the Spa 24 Hours event, but not in the Spa 24 Hour race. The Spa 24 Hour race would then become for GT2, GT3 and GT4 cars, and would be part of the FIA GT2 European championship.

Well, aparently the 24hours of spa this year will be a standalone event for gt2, gt3 + gt4 spec cars, as the gt2 championship has been postponed until next year. If they have 40 cars for just GT3 at silverstone, imagine how many there will be at spa, with gt2, + gt4 cars added to the mix! :biggrin:

LMS season opener today at 11.00 CET.

Live on Eurosport and Eurosport 2. Not the whole race but about half of it.

Autosport:

The ORECA Peugeot team beat the factory Audi to pole position for tomorrow's Paul Ricard 8 Hours. Nicolas Lapierre set a best time of 1m41.195s in the factory-assisted Peugeot 908 HDi, which was just under half a second quicker than Dindo Capello aboard the new Audi R15 plus.
Third fastest was Stefan Mucke in the Aston Martin Racing coupe, on a 1m42.354s.
Lapierre said: "It was a bit tricky because I had a bit of traffic on my first lap, but the second lap was good enough. It's a good start, but the main job is tomorrow."
Briton Danny Watts easily claimed LMP2 pole on the European debut of the Acura/HPD. The Strakka driver's lap of 1m44.989s was more than two seconds faster than the Olivier Pla in the ASM Zytek.
"We know how good this car is from what it has achieved in America, but to be honest it's still a little bit too good for us at the moment," said Watts. "We still need to get a bit more comfortable in the car."
AF Corse Ferrari driver Gianmaria Bruni came out on top in the ultra-competitive GT2 class. The Italian ended up nearly four tenths of a second ahead of Richard Lietz in the Felbermayr Porsche.
Gabriele Gardel set the time in the only GT1 car on the grid, the Larbre Competition Saleen S7R. Eduardo Piscopo ended up fastest of the seven Formula Le Mans one-make ORECA prototypes.
