2008 Grand Prix motorcycle racing

Marco Melandri has crashed kinda badly during yesterday's Qualifying session. The session was red flagged for about 20 minutes, whil Melandri was taking to the MotoGP Doctor on the scene.
Probably Melandri suffered a twisted knie. It is yet unsure if Melandri will participate in today's race.

Well , Loris Capirossi has signt a 1 year contract with Suzuki.
Rumour is that he will team-up with Cris Vermeulen.
So i gues it`s goodbye for John Hopkins.
Or will they come up with a third Suzuki ?

hopkins is of to kawasaki,edwards is of to the tech3 yamaha with toseland as a team mate,lorenzo is rossi's team mate next year

Norick Abe dies in crash

Former MotoGP race driver Norifume ( Norick )Abe has died in a crash in Tokyo.
He was killt riding his motocycle and got hit by and truck who wanted to turn.
The Japanese rider left a big gap in Japan where he whas a real hero.
Abe started in the GP circus as a wildcard rider in 1994.
His performance in that race give him a contract with Kenny Roberts in the 500CC class.
His first victory came in 1996 incl the GP of Japan.
Abe`s resumé count`s 3 victory`s and 17 podium finishes in 144 GP`s
In all the 10 years off racing Norick always finisht the championship`s within the first 10 places.
Norick Abe drove in that class till 2004.
There in Valencia he drove his last GP.
After that he went back to Japan where Norick drove in The All Japan Superbike Championship.

He will be dearly mist by all who know him.

I used to race mini moto's a few years ago,
There was this one young lad who would eat us all for dust, Probrably 13-14 he is now, Man he used to fly around the track and his dad used to always say to me "He will be a Moto GP star you wait and see"

Well to cut things short he had his final selection event not so long ago at paul ricard for the Redbull rookies cup and im glad to say he has been invited to run in the series!
Keep you eye out for Harry Stafford, When he is a Gp racer I can say I used to race with him, (well practice anyway as I was in the oldies group)

As for Moto GP, I love an underdog so James Toseland riding for yamaha tech 3 gets my vote!
