With the World Endurance Club (WEC) we try to bring you endurance racing with a club sport atmosphere. Since this event replaces the GT3 Club event that would usually be scheduled for this week, driver swaps are not mandatory and the race duration will be only 2.5 hours. If we have enough participants there will be more (and longer) events coming soon! As more suitable content becomes available, it shall be included as part of these events.

Driver/Team notes:
  • Each car can have 1-4 drivers (Driver Swap Tutorial)
  • Each team can enter up to 2 cars (permitted combinations: GTE+GTE, LMP1+GTE)
  • Cars with multiple drivers get priority over cars with a single driver
  • Drivers in teams with 2 cars are permitted to drive both cars (inexperienced drivers should not be allowed to drive the LMP1 - doing so is unsafe, and may result in disqualification)
  • The ratio of GTE to LMP1 will be 2:1 (minimum of 8 LMP1 cars)
  • Drivers/teams with known racing experience will get priority to race in LMP1
  • Drivers are encouraged to use their headlights when track visibility is poor (e.g. darkness, rain, fog)
Lapping
  • Blue flag: Signals a faster car is behind you. Caution is required, but moving over is not.
  • The faster car is expected to look for a sensible passing opportunity. They are responsible for initiating a safe pass. Straights are preferred over corners. Corner exits are preferred over corner entries.
  • Slower cars are expected to keep to their racing line and cooperate with safe passes. Moving out of the way is not advised, as it leads to unpredictable situations.
  • Faster cars may flash their headlights to indicate that they are about to make a pass.
  • Patience is key!
Starting procedure:
  • Formation lap speed = Pit limiter speed (99km/h / 60mph)
  • All cars must keep their position until they have passed the start/finish line
  • new: Server is set to "standing start" and we will do our single-file formation lap once the light turns green (so clock will already be ticking)
  • new: The first GTE car will wait (stationary!) until the last LMP went around T1
  • new: LMPs who qualified inside the GTE grid will join the LMP grid - so they will overtake the stationary GTE cars
  • new: The leader of each class can dictate the pace once they exit the last corner
Extra information:
  • Remember to test pit-stops and driver swaps (Driver Swap Tutorial), and make sure that all drivers in the team have driven some laps in traffic
  • Whilst not racing or preparing for a driver swap, drivers are not permitted to be on the server; timing software will be provided so that team members are able to monitor the race
  • Presence on TS is not mandatory, but is recommended in case communication with drivers or teams is required
  • new: LMPs need to have their lights on at all times (additional flashing is encouraged)

How to sign up:
  • State which class you want to race in and name all drivers for your car
  • You can always add or remove drivers to your car later on
  • Your final line-up should be clear 24 hours ahead of the event

Great news
Sign me up please.
David O'Reilly - Figjam Racing
I will request the LMP1 but will test before hand
@Gijs van Elderen You are welcome to join my "slightly slower than alien" team. If you want.
Also where can we get this LMP1 beast to try?

Can I be put on as a tentative yes? I would really like to race, but I might not be able to, because of "health problems" that may potentially not be resolved by then.

I will drive an LMP1 Audi, if I may...

EDIT: Now I see there are limited places, so I will rather prefer to give a place up to someone who will definitely be able to make it. Should I feel up to it at a later stage, and more positions are still open, I will sign up then.
