Stick my name on the list, got to give you guys a shot at humiliating me to make up for last race :pound:Should be fun in a RWD through the transition, never tried it yet, Mini yes and it's scary enough, anything else no

We arent sure how we can go about using custom skins in GTL. It has been discussed several times before - maybe we could use this event as a trial for them.

Warren what do you think? Shall we put a skin pack together for all those skins people have nominated and get everyone to download it 24 hours before the race?

We'll see mate, i'll discuss things with Warren to see if we can use this event as a trial for custom skins.
Welcome to the event :)

I am happy to try out that Alpine skin pack. Can someone find out if they need to be on the server as well, or just that all competitors have to have them.

They need to be on the server, mate.

I tried joining a server - not an RD one just any old one - and during the selection, I saw all the cars on my installation, but going into the track, I got "Car not present on server".

I'm assuming that, if you put them on the server as well, all will be sweet.

Are you sure that was GTL? I've never seen that message when trying to join without the correct skin on my system. Usually, you get a continual scrolling of the driver who's skin you don't have, and it just won't let you in.

Did your message refer to a "car" not available or just a skin missing??

I asked the question over at Simjunkies (they are GTL experts) and this is the answer I was just given:

If it's JUST a skin, then answer is NO.

BUT, if it's a complete car with a custom paint, then all players AND the server MUST have it installed.

I recall we ran an Abarth event early this year with a skin pack and I didn't think we had the skins on the server. So I am still not certain but I think we just need to have the Skin pack installed on every drivers PC.

All of these are complete standalone cars with custom skins, so the second sentence of their answer would apply, I suspect. Everything on PC's and Server.

If it's too much aggro, then maybe forget it?

Ah I see now, I thought it was just a skin pack for the default Alpine.

I'll download it tomorrow and have a look at them.
