Great format RD!!

Very nice read and fun to get to know Fat-Alfie aka David a bit better. Before going into a 'fanboy-ish' approach* the content you create and the tips and tricks you share with the community is an example to the community. Excellent work! Looking forward to your next project.

* I know you do not like too much fanboy-ism, at least when it concerns F1 ;):p

Finally some good content on the front page. Much better than the change log postings that some sim has now added screen whippers to a car and some other sim moved a decal from far back to far far back.

@Fat-Alfie Will you reveal what the next modding project will be?

Wow, didn't know your 1nsane background. Still loving that title to this day, the gameplay-wise it still hasnt been topped by successors of soft-body-physics simulation.

We need Chase The Flag mode in AC :p

Still remember driving into the village in Feldbergring and saying a little 'Wow' to myself, all Alfie's tracks have a feel to them that is kind of hard to define but makes them stand out as high quality work.

Being another fan of historic cars I always find his tracks provide the perfect setting for them too.

I can't wait to read the other interviews, if more are planned (I have a nice list of people I would be fascinated to read more about, if you're stuck for ideas Davide ;) ). Sometimes, once you know more about the person behind the mods, things slot into place. E.g. someone who make great physics for cars turns out to be a structural engineer, or a great skinner who works for a publishing company creating book covers, etc, etc.

As for my next project, that will almost certainly be Bremgarten in Switzerland, set in the 1950s. It's very near completion, with just a few more TSOs to add, all the hand-made vegitation, and final optimisation to do. I had some help from @gecco on the physical road mesh, who did loads of testing and gave some great feedback, and I think it's now one of the best-feeling road meshes I have made for AC - cheers pal.

Going back to the interview, I hacked into my own Photobucket account and found some old screenshots of 1nsane in about 2007. I can see a common theme even back then, with my attempts to recreate environments for my tracks to exist within :inlove:

A really tastefully done interview. David is an extremely talented track builder for us all to celebrate here. I have been a huge fan and supporter of his/your work. The attention to detail is beyond words for me on the tracks you have created. Hope to see more soon, as I'm sure we will. Cheers to you Fat-Alfie!!

Nice to see this sort of thing on the folks that do so much for us. Hope to see more of this in the future.

I think every one of us has had a track idea or two, whether its a fictional home town course (mine was a figure of 8). Of course, like most, it remains less than an idea. My real world track is a less than exciting historic airfield track, the history is far far greater than the venue. And again, although it has been created for GPL (of course by some one else), in my feeble mind it remains less than a figment.

So to the inevitably boring compliments, sorry Alfie....

Since getting access to one of the wip versions of... which one was it?, (told you the mind was feeble) I was hooked. When I see any of David's tracks making fruition, I'm usually filled with anticipation just to get it installed. Even if many (alright, all) of my first outings end in a hedge/fence/wall. I can't help myself. The prospect of Brem (we've all tried the GPL converts) fills me with schoolboy like excitement.

Thank you Alfie and Davide

Thank you @Davide Nativo for this article, positively refreshing and well thought questions.

Thank you @Fat-Alfie for sharing with us some personnel insight on top of sharing with us your amazing mods.
Your passion for driving simulator is gleaming trough your creations. So nice to see the positive and constructive personality behind your art.
Very happy that you are realizing how much more can be seen and appreciated in VR, how much closer it takes us to "being" there.
Looking forward to experience what you will share next.
