TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge is set to see its third instalment hit shelves and with the real event incoming, Nacon has announced an official release date.

The game set to introduce countless new venues to the franchise is set for release on 11 May 2023. With less than two months until the game launches, there's still a lot about the game we don't know.

The game's developer, RaceWard Studios has continually pushed the idea that a total of 32 road racing tracks will feature in the game. This is a huge step up from the 17 venues seen in the previous title, but there is yet to be word on which tracks will be available to race on.

With the previous game concentrating on the British Isles, it would be nice to see tracks further afield get some love. Macau, Wanganui and Surfer's Paradise are iconic street tracks while Sepang, Jarama and COTA would all be great examples of permanent racing venues ideal for motorbikes.

The announcement came at the end of the title's latest teaser trailer showing off the fifth sector of the TT Snaefell mountain course. Running from the famous Gooseneck, all the way up the mountain to the Bungalow, this is one of the more iconic parts of the TT course. The video footage jumps onboard with frontrunner Dean Harrison on his Kawazaki ZX-10RR Superbike.

Climbing up the mountain side at sunset, the video does a great job at showing off the game. Not only does the lighting look fantastic, but looking towards the horizon, one really can see for miles over the Isle of Man.

Are you excited for the new TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge game?

It just doesn't look that great imo. I've watched it a couple of times and freeze-framed the 1st person view and the model doesn't look that great. The rider doesn't look that great either.

I've got the first two in the series but this will be a waiting on reviews and a price drop thing I reckon.

Maybe its like you said. Ive played Rims (was for free at one weekend) and dropped it immeditely because the sound is total garbage (which is essential in a bike game).
The physics were also not that what ive expected. To be clear...i always prefer hardcore drivng (not arcade). I have probably different expectations to a bike racing game that why Rims was imo bad.

When TT3 is at some point cheap or there is a demo/free weekend so i will test it. But for sure not for >10 Euro...
Not a Rims player but watching this video by curiosity I couldn't help thinking "how can a racing game come out in 2023 with such atrocious engine sound???". Sound design is at least 50% of the immersion. From videos of the previous game, although not outstanding in the engine sound department, it was better this one is lifeless, muffled and suffers from the old "bee effect" of very old racing games. It is suprising. I wonder whether it is a sound rendering engine issue or a sampling issue. Donthe developper use a different engine than Kylotoon for the previous game?

EDIT : watching other trailers there are better sounding bikes so it seems it is more a sampling issue onboard. Outside they seem to all sound bad, with a bad rendering engine (like in the previous game). Quiet annoying for such loud vehicles imo.

This one sounds much better onboard for example :
But in chase cam, the engine sound is muffled as if we had a big helmet (IRL it even isn't muffled to that point). There definitively an issue there.

Exactly, this sounds are not what you can expect from a game in 2023.
Just listen to this and watch how many details of the bike are visible.....

Dont know if a Gopro is damping the wind noises so good but even at higher speed its quite ok.
How hard is this nowadays to record such sounds from a bike?
Even this Gopro footage has better sound than the presented game sound :)
There are so many different engine and muffler sounds....

Also the trailer is in 4k but watch at the visible bike parts in the drivers view.... this looks so bad. The textures are like from EAs SBK2000
(Yes, i know... this are different bike....its just an example)
:roflmao:

I'm hoping there is lot more content, immersion etc to get that road racing feeling. Not only just grinding parts and lapping around. There is great charachters to use also, Hicky, Milky, Morecambe missile etc, to get something great things in game. There was almost zero athmosphere in earlier games. Second game (full price patch to one) was ok game to have for going around the track, thats it.. What about full race simulations etc, like F1 does or something. I dont mean a simulator, but simulation about the whole thing. And ability to create own team and so on. A LOT can be done better than before. But im afraid, that we still are in early steps. Surprize me please.. :coffee:

It must be a post production filter ot an external mic somewhere inside something like a case.
A raw recording of the bike shown in the trailer :
Much more artefacts from the wind, not a proper recording for sampling but we got the idea. Both recordings show how problematic the ingame sound design is.

Sounds good :) Good example.
But around 200kmh its still quite ok and the wind noise at acceptable level.
When i see it correct so the Gopro is mounted on the helmet so it depends from the head angle how the wind effects appear. But basically is possible to get proper audio recordings.

Lol.... be sure i can afford it at full price but its not worth for me. Simple as that.

Strange logic... when a game is good so it doesnt matter when i start it to play.
We need not to play together so whats the point with your 500h gameplay?
And stop to judge about people which you dont know... in terms of if some1 is able to afford something, how some1 play a game and passion. You know nothing about me and thats fine.

And now btt coz his turns in stupid direction.
this game is not for you, dont waste your time with it, even if it's free
