Trucks are Coming to RaceRoom!

As found out initially during the F1-style car release, trucks are now making their way to RaceRoom. Get ready to drive big rigs on small tracks and try to overtake with these massive racing beasts.

Trucks are coming to RaceRoom. The Swedish sim is now receiving big rigs to drive for everyone. This has been known since the F1-style vehicles have been released, however, it was just a matter of time before this announcement would come.

The trucks featured in the video seem to be exactly as though, RaceRoom branded. Meaning there will be no Ivecos, no MANs, just no real-life branded trucks for now.

This stands in stark contrast to the only real sim racing competitor in this space: AMS 2. The Brazilian sim does feature trucks as well but features real-life brands competing in the Brazilian Copa Truck.

RaceRooms developer, KW Studios, claims in this teaser video that their virtual trucks were/are developed with real drivers.

No new tracks seem to have been teased in this video, this means that to simulate a virtual European Truck Racing Championship, you would have to replace a few tracks still. Misano, Bugatti Circuit and Circuito del Jarama would have to find replacements if you plan on starting a virtual championship.

But on the other hand, good tracks for truck racing, like Autodrom Most and Slovakia Ring are already featured within RaceRoom.

What do you think of this tease? Let us know in the comments down below!

Awesome news, always appreciate new content especially a vehicle that is, well...totally different that is in the Sim. Looking forward to screenshoting:inlove:...errr, I mean racing:geek:

Does not worry me personally whether these are branded Trucks or not, if they look good, drive well, have awesome Liveries and I know they will sound awesome in Raceroom...I'm in:thumbsup:.

Multiclass Racing:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove:

Personally I think they did the right thing.
Playing with ISImotor2.0 would introduce new bugs and lose potential customers, sound familiar ?
Most likely why Reiza never attempted weather, the effort was not worth the outcome.

Throw a few million to ISImotor genius for 3.0 :x3:
kunos and reiza have built 2 completely new games that have been out for years now in the time frame people have been asking for raceroom to update to modern standards

which is a massive shame because i really like the way raceroom drives, but it's left in the past feature wise, which is why me and most people are now moving on to other games

I agree but reality is you can't just have one... I switch between AC, ACC, AMS2, R3E, RF2 (and sometimes even to PC2 for the fun of driving my childhood car, a 69 Camaro)!

I may spent 3 weeks on one then switch to another for a week. Then on a Friday night, with a couple beers, drive an old AC course and car. Offline- of course!

:0)

Come on, man. Do RaceDepartment writers forget that Automobilista 1 exists? First the sale article, and now this.

AMS 1 also has some Brazilian truck racing (from the Formula Truck era). Very fun, especially thanks to the great AMS1 turbo model and unique truck racing rules like a speed trap.

I get that AMS1 is no longer updated and is another game from Reiza. But it's still a great sim title that deserves to be mentioned in articles on a sim racing site like RD.

Gotta say the comment section in any raceroom related news is hilarious. Every sim fanatic always claims they want only the better physics, more cars, and more tracks in the game and everything else can go in the trash, but every single raceroom comment is full of people asking for extra features.

There's a limit to most things. While some people will be happy to play GPL/RBR for decades, most of us have some kind of minimum level of graphical fidelity below which the immersion is broken. R3E has reached that limit for a lot of people. Not to mention that completely static track conditions with constant grip everywhere (something that has nothing to do with DX9) is not acceptable any more in 2022.

Please speak for yourself and not for "most of us". :)

R3E is still a fantastic sim with an exceptional amount of content and most of us I really don't care about static track conditions. Perfectly acceptable for most of us me and still provides amazing (online) racing in 2022.
