Simracing.GP | Create Assetto Corsa Competizione Team Events With Driver Swaps In Seconds

Driver Swap Racing is live on Simracing.GP

Sim racing team events have become some of the most popular multiplayer races in recent years so it was only a matter of time before teams events for ACC were added to Simracing.gp. Well today is the day communities can start racing teams events on the platform.

Here is the latest news from the simracing.gp blog

After months of extensive development and testing, we are proud to bring you the ability to host your own Assetto Corsa Competizione Teams / Driver Swap Races on Simracing.GP. From Today, Community Owners will be able to access the Driver Swaps Beta tools in the event creation panel within their communities. We have been working closely with some of the top organisers of driver swap races to give you a full set of tools to go racing with your teammates in ACC.

A full guide will be coming out later this afternoon for both Owners and Drivers to get to know the system and how to set up and drive in these races. Most of our communities have some amazing plans in the works with these tools and we cannot wait to add Driver Swap Championships in the very near future.

You can identify a driver swap race using the driver swap icon above the event information.

For now, community owners will have the ability to create a team event with up to 50 teams of 4 drivers for a maximum 6 hour race duration. In true Simracing.GP fashion, these races can be set up in less than 5 minutes and should take a lot of stress away from organising these large scale events!

One other note, this feature is still in beta (I know, beta within a beta) and we are looking for communities to test the feature first before we can officially call it finished. We are missing a "restart server" button which will be coming soon but for the most part the feature is all but done. Now, on to setting up your events.

About Simracing.GP
Simracing.GP is a brand new esports platform built in partnership with RaceDepartment and developers Nascent. Simracing.GP offers communities and brands all the tools needed to organise complex championships and series with a simple user interface. Setting up championships on simracing.gp can be done in under 5 minutes with absolutely no technical server knowledge. Simracing.gp changes the game for brands looking to enter the esports space not just because of the lower barriers to entry but also because of the existing player base already on the platform. With over 14,000 players already registered on the platform activating tournaments has never been easier.

Fantastic news.
Let's hope that we could soon enter virtual 24h of Sport, or 24h of bathurst !
I just have no idea how to find mates to race, but it will surely come too !

Thanks a lot and great succession to this feature !

This is MASSIVE for us! Huge thanks to the SGP team.

For anyone organizing events for their respective sim community, get on SGP right now. One of my admins spent countless hours arranging and managing signups for an upcoming endurance event in ACC, and we duplicated it in about 30 seconds on simracing.gp . This is amazing.

Thats almost a certainty that it will happen, 24hr races that is.

Teams / team mate finder will be coming too in the future.

I suppose joining one of the communities on SGP and not being a total ... will do the trick ;)

What would be cool too could be to be able to swap real simracers sharing the same cockpit ( i mean in the same room)
It could be epic , but i imagine very difficult to manage.

That was an ask in rF2 for one of it's 24hr races. But the organizers didn't want to allow drivers in the same room and same rig due to an unfair advantage to those drivers who only were teammates via the net. The time required to join & swap coupled with the risk of a disco would not be any impediment to same room drivers.

I would have another question regarding communication within the teams.

Would it be possible ? Dedicated Teamspeak ? ...

I ask because i had the opportunity to enter long endurance races (it was long time ago with the nascar 2003 mod GTP) , and having the possibilty to communicate with teamspeak was a blast.
Very important in long endurance race, just because the setup is shared, the car may have damage,....

A lot of communities use Discord for main communication. In ACCSS for example there are enough voice channels for every team in a big team race. The communities can do whatever they want in terms of communication.
