As is tradition for the Dutch based development team at rFactor 2, the end of the month brings with it their latest 'Development Roadmap' post - where the studio explains the current state of play within rFactor 2, take a look at some new things on the horizon and offer a short review of what has been happening over the course of the previous four weeks.

In this latest post, the team have highlighted a new development for the simulation, in the form of Screen Space Reflections (SSR), a technology that should allow the studio to produce higher quality and more detailed reflections within the simulation - especially useful for driving in wet or damp conditions. In other interesting news, the team have outlined a collection of fixes, improvements and new features that are set to be brought to the title in the immediate future, including substantial work around first time user experience, additional hardware support and other UX themed improvements.

Sorry for the Double Post but I thought I might actually add something to the discussion :p I think the SSR screens look promising and I can't wait to have them in game. It's quite easy to make the title look ugly but with the right settings and newer content I do think it looks really nice. I do believe that the focus on graphics and content saved rfactor2 and was a good decision, at least for the time being. And so is the competition system. My Simracing is always an on/off hobby so I'm generally less bummed by the slow development I guess. But I do think it's time they step up their pace with the bug fixing.
It will be interesting to see what direction they go in now they've been taken over. I'd take bug fixing, improved UI etc over new content right now, but I'm guessing that doesn't generate much of a revenue stream.

Seeing as a lot of the positive views come with a version of the ..... "It's a great game once you get past the bugs, poor UI, find the good content", ..... caveat I'd like to think that fixing those things and getting the community on board would be an investment in the future.

I'm a big RF2 fan once I'm in the car and driving but the rest of it can drive you nuts.

Is unacceptable that years after the release there is no possibility of creating a championship but making only single race
but time to develop DLC there is no lack of.
compliments, Studio 397 time continues to flow

There is a possibility to create championships, but it requires 3rd party tools. Next to that it's clearly on their to-do list besides tons of other stuff and it will most likely come once the competition system is a bit more fleshed out as they will use that as a blueprint for the offline part.

hopin the new owners of studio 397 sell rf2 as a complete game, because now ea remove the regional price for f1 2021

You want a realistic fix Paul ?
Remove templates and Mod Dev folder from install ..... make them optional
To most it's unneeded unwanted 8GB space wasted .... of course you can't remove them because every file verify will download them again

Now that you mention it, what are those needed for? are they related? I always thought that the
Dev Mod folder was only there for modders to use. Can they be deleted with no harm? I just
thought that if they are re-downloaded again, you can create a batch file to delete them every
time the Sim is started... Hmm, maybe that could work.

ISI/S397: "it is in development/it is going to be better/we're about to fix that" for the last 9 years........done with this crap!

They'll announce it right after Project Cars 4 or 5.

I have edited the message because I had put 3 or 4, Jesus Christ, I didn't even remember that 3 existed and that it doesn't have that option either.
