Rennsport Teases Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Release for January 6

Rennsport_Porsche992_Teaser.jpg
Rennsport, the upcoming German racing simulator, is getting ready for the beta release. Before that, alpha players will get the opportunity to see a new Porsche, the 911 GT3 R (992).

After rFactor 2 already released its Porsche 992 DLC for Christmas, Rennsport will therefore be the next developer to include a car from the 992 series in its roster.

This new Porsche is the continuation of the "world's best-selling race car", the 911. Following the footsteps of the 991, this seventh-generation 911 aims to keep up the tradition of generating sporting success for Porsche.

Immediate Rennsport Future

With this inclusion, existing alpha players will be able to race the new Porsche around Hockenheimring. However, how does the beta timeline look?

According to the most recent Discord QnA, the closed beta has been delayed to early 2023. We should be getting news of the exact dates soon.

Until then, what do you think of this inclusion to the Rennsport roster? Let us know in the comments down below!

So far I have knowlage will Rennsport not bring anything new to the Table. It just sounds like a copy of ACC. The graphical Fidality may be higher but what is its USP? GT3 Cars are abundant in other Sim titles like ACC where they are the Focus. iRacing and AC(mods) have a plathera of Cars not only focused on GT3 cars but also on others like Formula, GT, Stock Car etc. The thing that they need to get right is the Handling and the Track Surface, otherwise it is an ACC clone. In that case ACC is still ahead as it is linked to an Official GT3 Series and includes different cars too like Porsche Cup, GT4 and some others.

For what I know I am not feeling any excitement for the Game because for me GT3 Cars are not really interesting. I despise the Nordschleife, and if that is the only selling point for Butt Hurt ACC players because that track isnt there, its really not a well thought out product.
For any sim developer it is pretty simple.GT3 is easily the most popular type of racing so if you dont have a good GT3 selection you dont have a product that will sell.Personally I enjoy GT4 more & would like a lot more historic cars but a GP Legends or GT Legends sim would be a really niche product.

Anyone here an alpha tester? Please give us a hint of what this game is all about and how it is different than any current car racing games?

The most likely can't do that... since they are under NDA.

I like how some say, " GT3 has been done, how about some historic blah blah cars and tracks". I hate to tell you, historic means old. And those tracks and cars weren't as great as you think they were.

And 20 years from now, if this forum still exists, someone will be on here saying, "Electric GTxx, it's already been done. How about the gas powered Bentley, BMW, Merc or Lambo of 2016 on the Nordschleife".

Yes, that was an EA title, the one who had the exclusivity with Porsche and It may qualify as a proper simulator to you, but it does not for me. Nice try, I admire your persistence.:)
Are you out of your mind? SGT not a simulator? You do realize that game was running the earlier version of the ISI gmotor engine, yes, that ISI engine?....

Great vintage cars with Honda Civic beating all these old time icons, Countach, Testarossa, Jaguar XJ 220, Bugatti EB 110, . . . by a mile.
Put modern tires, and modern brake pads and dampers on those super cars, and it will be a very different story.

Now can we go back on topic please?...

Edit: oh, and the times you mention, were done in the wet, civic in the dry...

clear evidence of how some one doesnt know wtf he is talking about

And...? You forgot a much better power to weight ratio, lower center of gravity, possibly lower weight, wider tracks, wider tires, less aero drag, etc etc etc...

These "old car slow" videos got old really quick and they are not scientific at all. "Best" one i've seen was 5th gear clocking an evo 7 with no brakes left, just so they can say that modern yaris is faster, despite having less power, less aero, and less sophisticated all wheel drive system. Its all marketing to make the "shiny new thing" look good.

Interesting article from April 2016: " After all, Assetto Corsa is the first racing simulation in 10 years that again has licensed vehicles from Zuffenhausen in its portfolio."

So no one, beside AC, for 10 years before 2016, it also means that some game predating, 2006 could have had some Porsches. Good to know.
Like you, i am not sure if Kunos/Marcos was instrumental in ending AE exclusivity deal. One thing is clear is that they were talking long before the end of the deal and made a special effort to show the special relationship between Porsche and Kunos.

Raceroom?
2006 = GTR2.

Yes some Porsches are available in Raceroom :

Everyone loves vintage cars, they all are state of the art, labor of love creations. nothing like today's utilitarian unsightly boredom, plus they were challenge to drive.
But arguing that automotive industry didn't make any advancements in the last 40 years is a bit of a stretch.
You get super legend, exotic Countach and in straight line (the only line it was good at) it clocks 1/4 mile at mere 14.3 s @ 113 mph, this is today's family sedan territory.

You're right. The tendency to believe that old things were better than today ones is present in every aspect of human life, and racing is not an exception. Like for example, "racing in the 1960 was better", meanwhile dying in a crash was very common, so how can that be better than today??...
And there are a lot of other reductio ad absurdum examples.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what's the difference between this new Porsche and the one already in the sim?
