RaceRoom Releases FR X-22, Teases Trucks

After months of wait and weeks of drip marketing, the time has finally come for RaceRoom to release the FR X-22. The new Formula 1-inspired vehicle comes ready to drive with tons of liveries. Release is 31st of August, 2022.

The wait is finally over. KW Studios released their newest Formula 1-inspired vehicle on the 31st of August, 2022.

The new open wheeler comes with a few brand new additions to RaceRoom:
  • Hybrid Engine
  • MGU-K Modes
  • Overtake Mode
  • HALO Visibility Switch
  • New Bindings and Car Setup Menu Items
What's more is with this update, another vehicle has been added to the game, though not yet officially released. Something called a "RaceRoom Truck" has been spotted in the updated files. We have yet to see the exact details of this new vehicle, however a sneak peak in DDF Racers video deliveres some answers.

Here's the full changelog:

No ABS, no traction control! Accelerate VERY VERY carefully!! But seems that does not apply to the AI.

It always seems like the AI is best during the opening laps. Like you're on cold tyres and they aren't.

Its about time. I'm not a Formula car fan, but I am eager to try this car out. It should be a lot of fun.

the content in Raceroom is very good, and with my simucube, it feels good. But honestly, the graphics have stopped me now.
New 3d engine ASAP.
Raceroom is now the last game about players count in steam, AMS2, rF2 are all above....

I wonder if we could discuss the actual update since most of the posts seem to be complaining about the graphics.
Since most are also saying they haven't played it for ages I'd presume they have nothing to say about the update
So let's try to stick to the topic please.

Today's Formula One doesn't interest me, so that portion of the update is not for me. BUT...

I hear T R U K, and my ears immediately perk up :)

Oh my. From Formula Truck to Formel Lastbil (Swedish from Google Translate for Formula Truck :roflmao:). Looks like Reiza might have some big rig racing competition coming their way!

I used my pot of VRP and purchased the X-22 car and ran it around Zandvort and Spa. First impression is the car seems like a nice addition to the RaceRoom collection.

If people cared about the content being released, maybe they'd talk about it more.

RR, as always, is too late to the party trying to stay relevant in the market, by providing their own variant of exactly the same car that has been available for months on other platforms.

In no particular order, we already have:
-An entire official game
-A DLC in AMS2
-At least 2 mods for rF2
-At least 5 mods for AC
-At least 1 mod each for older games like rF1, GTR2, GP4 and F1C
Granted, especially with mods your mileage might vary.

It's important to have options and alternatives, so that the public can choose, but at the same time, it's literally nothing we haven't already seen before elsewhere, thus there really isn't something to talk about.

This is a textbook example of content fatigue. Just as all games having GT3 cars to race with, just as all games having Spa and the Nordschleife to race on, and so on and so forth.
Nobody cares.
