Porsche 911 992 GT3 Cup Car Confirmed for Upcoming ACC DLC

The latest car to be confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC set to be released next week for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the Porsche 911 992 Cup car.

Kunos and 505 Games are releasing a new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione next week. The Challengers Pack DLC will bring a number of new cars to the sim, including the three we have already reported on here at RaceDepartment: the BMW M2 CS Racing, Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Lamborghini Huracan Trofeo Evo2.

The latest car to be confirmed is the newest version of the best selling racing car of all time. The Porsche Cup car being released in this DLC is based on the 992 edition of the Porsche 911.

Over 4,000 Porsche Cup cars have been sold worldwide for real racing, and it seems just as desirable in the virtual world, as many of the racing games commonly discussed here at RD have some version of the car.

The update to the existing Porsche Cup car in ACC will see the car fitted with improved aerodynamic components, including a larger wing which is switched to a gooseneck mounting style. The car hasn't received a huge bump in power from the engine, but improvements to how that power is delivered and the benefits of the aero changes combine to make the car notably quicker than the outgoing Cup car.

The Porsche Cup car has established itself as a great spec series race car in sim racing, and this improved version in Assetto Corsa Competizione should quickly find a fanbase.

Are you interested in driving this car? Where does this rank in your mind compared to the other cars that have been confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC? Let us know in the comments below.

Contradicting yourself there… you are against people complaining about lack of tracks while asking for 3 american ones yourself.
The fine and important difference here is that one is complaining while my post was simply suggesting, i was not even "asking". I also dont condemn the game if there are no new tracks coming. So i don't see any contradiction here to be honest. You just twisted my post so you can make this point against me.

So for these "cup" cars I am very curious how many skins will be there. Although at least the numbers should be dynamic in ACC, so there won't be a situation like with some other sims that 3+ cars will be racing with the race number in a standard sized grid. Having the same livery but different number could be realistic.

If one installs custom skins for ACC downloaded here on RD, do they appear for AI as well?

AI don't use custom liveries, at least not completely as they're intended.

I did some AI races, where some of the opponents had parts (either the decal.png OR the sponsors.png) of a custom livery but the rest was from the ingame livery editor generated by the game.

And you will never have the same race number more than once in a grid. Even when there's two cars with the same livery, the game uses the next closest number to the original one.

Thank you. In that case I hope Kunos provides a decent number of generic liveries, as the auto-generated custom liveries tend to look... not very nice.

If you think ACC is "exorbitant" in terms of cost then take a look at Gran Turismo 7 in terms of a publisher abusing the paying customer for "exorbitant" amounts of money.

You've got to spend $70 on the base game and then a large number of quite expensive "micro" transactions to buy the cars you actually want - unless you want to spend the rest of your life grinding. As an example the most expensive "credit pack" is $20 for 2 million credits meaning it'll cost around $45 for the "Ford Mark IV Race Car '67" - way more than any Kunos DLC which always includes multiple cars or tracks.

ACC has everything needed in the base game for the GT3 european series across 4 seasons. You don't need to buy the DLC to enjoy ACC.

Of course if I need to buy all the DLCs to enjoy them

Fair enough!
You're not obligated to buy the DLC.
You can always play on what you currently have.
It is really that simple.
I don't necessarily have to agree with your position on costs but I have to respect it...much as you have to respect KS' position.
They can't survive working for free.
I get along with you
