Porsche 911 992 GT3 Cup Car Confirmed for Upcoming ACC DLC

The latest car to be confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC set to be released next week for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the Porsche 911 992 Cup car.

Kunos and 505 Games are releasing a new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione next week. The Challengers Pack DLC will bring a number of new cars to the sim, including the three we have already reported on here at RaceDepartment: the BMW M2 CS Racing, Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Lamborghini Huracan Trofeo Evo2.

The latest car to be confirmed is the newest version of the best selling racing car of all time. The Porsche Cup car being released in this DLC is based on the 992 edition of the Porsche 911.

Over 4,000 Porsche Cup cars have been sold worldwide for real racing, and it seems just as desirable in the virtual world, as many of the racing games commonly discussed here at RD have some version of the car.

The update to the existing Porsche Cup car in ACC will see the car fitted with improved aerodynamic components, including a larger wing which is switched to a gooseneck mounting style. The car hasn't received a huge bump in power from the engine, but improvements to how that power is delivered and the benefits of the aero changes combine to make the car notably quicker than the outgoing Cup car.

The Porsche Cup car has established itself as a great spec series race car in sim racing, and this improved version in Assetto Corsa Competizione should quickly find a fanbase.

Are you interested in driving this car? Where does this rank in your mind compared to the other cars that have been confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC? Let us know in the comments below.

its my favorite car in iRacing currently so chances are it will also become the fav one in ACC too.
but it seems a bit odd that the ACC version will come with ABS, i think in most Porsche Cup series this car has no ABS.

getting so fed up with people crying about "not enough tracks" - the game has 18 tracks and all are meticulously produced, its the highest quality of that particular track in the sim racing market currently.
the ACC versions are always better than the ones in iRacing, rf2, AMS2, R3E, it takes time and resources to make them and Kunos has less devs than the studios of the games i just mentioned.
so if anything, what they achieved with ACC is pretty damn impressive.
plus, tracks are incoming this summer, so thats being taken care of too. we can expect at least 5 new tracks i would say.
though i would rather have some of the US tracks instead of getting the three new circuits for the GTWC 2022 season in (Valencia, Magny Cours, Hockenheim) if they can make either/or.
give me Road America, Sebring, Watkins Glen over these european three every day of the week.

I still think that the new Porsche Cup car we will get in ACC, will not be the (official) Porsche Carrera Cup version, that runs on Michelin tyres all over the world.

Just like with the 991 Cup car, which is the "endurance version" of it (with adjustable dampers, ABS and the endurance lights), I'm pretty sure, that the 992 will run with ABS and TC in the real life SRO series, because it's competing to the Lamborghini and the Ferrari in the "GTC" class.

But in the end we'll finally know next week. :D

hello I would like to know if this DLC will be free or not if it is the opposite case it is clearly abuse on the part of the publisher
Kunos Simulazioni has always been fair on DLC pricing...heck! even full titles....unlike some other 'players'.
Those folks have homes, kids in school, lifestyles, etc... that need money to support...just like we all do.
As long as fairness prevails, we should continue to support their cause.
You wouldn't get into your car and drive to work daily for no pay right? Neither should they.

Contradicting yourself there… you are against people complaining about lack of tracks while asking for 3 american ones yourself.

From the 18 tracks you mentioned, how many were actually done for ACC? 6? The rest are “upgraded” conversions from AC. My comment was in reference to that, not the number of locations.

Another thing, most studios nowadays (including the majority of the ones you mentioned) purchase pre-made models, so the number of devs is irrelevant to the amount of content.

I am and I can not agree with you that's all

Between the starting price of the purchase of the game on STEAM and the many DLCs published afterwards, we come back to an exorbitant price for Assetto Corsa Compertizione since its publication, therefore abuse!
Oh man, I think you are seriously mistaken here. Early access ACC went out by less than 30€ IIRC.
And DLCs... pufff, 10?15?
It´s also worth mention you said "many DLCs".
Are we talking about the same simulator sir?

If you think ACC is "exorbitant" in terms of cost then take a look at Gran Turismo 7 in terms of a publisher abusing the paying customer for "exorbitant" amounts of money.

You've got to spend $70 on the base game and then a large number of quite expensive "micro" transactions to buy the cars you actually want - unless you want to spend the rest of your life grinding. As an example the most expensive "credit pack" is $20 for 2 million credits meaning it'll cost around $45 for the "Ford Mark IV Race Car '67" - way more than any Kunos DLC which always includes multiple cars or tracks.

ACC has everything needed in the base game for the GT3 european series across 4 seasons. You don't need to buy the DLC to enjoy ACC.

Fair enough!
You're not obligated to buy the DLC.
You can always play on what you currently have.
It is really that simple.
I don't necessarily have to agree with your position on costs but I have to respect it...much as you have to respect KS' position.
They can't survive working for free.
