MX vs ATV Legends Released for PC, Playstation and Xbox

Today, June 28th marks the release of the newest title in the MX vs ATV franchise. The long-standing THQ series, therefore, receives its 7th instalment. For PC, the title even receives an instant discount during the Steam Summer Sale.

Features of MX vs ATV Legends

  • 2-player split-screen and 16-player online multiplayer
  • Career Mode
  • Massive Open World
It is commendable to, in this day and age, see split-screen mode integrated into a new release. This way you can play with any of your relatives or friends without needing a 2nd system. I remember playing MX vs ATV Untamed on the Wii with a friend and it's nice to see the possibility persists today.

The career mode is something interesting, how would progression reward the player? A promise of choosing contracts and sponsorships and impactful decision-making seems to allow an interesting and replayable single-player campaign.

The open world is sure to allow exploration as well. What may lie in the forests and dunes that you may explore off-road?

It's Not All Sunshine on the Dirt Track Though

While the game seems interesting enough, especially given the price tag of the standard edition being lower than the industry standard, is the DLC policy of MX vs ATV Legends.

At launch, there are 9 DLC packs available already. All together they cost more than the base game alone.

One of those DLCs is the Customization Pack, featuring exclusive rider customization options. The other DLCs are one track pack and 7 marque packs including several extra vehicles from each manufacturer.

What are your thoughts on this new release? Are you getting it? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

"2-player split-screen" that's a big plus for a game i didn't even consider
probably the most missing feature in recent games...
you'd think Forza horizon has it ? Or.. Wreckfest ? Or.. [+ see full list]

This brand failed already, went broke, was bought by these chumps who have somehow just made it worse. Zero progression, recycling content, offensive pricing model. Horrible audio, visuals and gameplay.

They need to apologise and retire.

I was excited to buy this today but the steam reviews killed it for me. Its 2022 and no one can make a decent MX game. I almost took the MX Bikes plunge but after AC/rFactor etc I just want to be able to play a fun MX game... I don't mind a learning curve like what Reflex had but this looks really bad.

I truly hope people enjoy this title, myself, I will enjoy keeping my cash in my wallet for another software entry.

I take it from this; the game is top of your wishlist, an insta-buy and that you are eagerly awaiting the DLC!

Sadly I've bought every single game in the series since Motocross Madness back in 1998.

But I have refunded the last three.

And sworn to take vengeance by making negative posts of forums.

I used like Mx games, I guess even just blasting about in Motocross Madness was fun. Pity it seems people think stuff from 15 years ago is still better than current games. That's progress!

I don't play MX games, but I always check out the latest ones to see what the community thinks about the physics.

Generally everything gets compared to MX ATV Reflex and falls short. If a new release ever gets a positive comparison, then I'll know its worth checking out. MX games need to be more like Dirt Rally, and less like Dirt
