Motion Simulation Buys HPP Simulation Pedals IP

Motion Simulation Ltd has bought the intellectual property of California-based racing sim pedal company HPP Simulation.

Motion Simulation offers their customers complete sim racing solutions, and has now established a plan for their pedal supplier by acquiring the intellectual property and production rights relating to HPP Simulation's impressive JBV simulation pedals.

A statement on the Motion Simulation website has confirmed that production of the HPP pedals will cease with the retirement of HPP founder Mark Hargett. Motion Simulation will assume the production role moving forward, and will look to first outfit its all-in-one simulators before any units are offered separately to the public at some point in the future.

HPP's JBV pedals include a hydraulic brake pedal, but they offer a cleaner look than most hydraulic pedal sets. The accelerator pedal utilizes a linear potentiometer rather than a rotary or slide potentiometer, and the clutch has a non-linear travel. The pedals are aimed at the higher-end of the sim hardware market.

For current owners of HPP pedal sets, Motion Simulation has made it clear that they have not purchased HPP Simulation and assumed its responsibilities for warranty. There is no parts stock currently, but Motion Simulation intends to offer spare or replacement parts to the public at some point in the future.

This is a great product for Motion Simulation to be including in its future simulation solutions, and we can hope that their extensive testing will result in some exciting updates for future products based on HPP's current products.

This is interesting. They are about to launch an innovative rig on the market with what clearly were some innovative high end pedals. They also have their g-belt which isn’t available in their consumer line yet but it would be cool if they bring it together with their planned motion.

Hopefully they start up production soon, I was about a week away from buying HPP's bumper kit for my pedals, lol. Guess that's why you don't procrastinate...

Wow, I'm late to this news but pretty shocked. I still have and use my HPP v2 set that I've had for years. Great design! Sad to lose the production from the west coast of the states.
