Historic Nürburgring Released for Automobilista 2

Reiza Studios has officially released the 1971 version of the Nürburgring today in a new public update. Good news for the owners of the Nürburgring DLC is they'll be able to enjoy this historic version without having to spend a single dime extra, as all the new layouts are integrating that existing DLC.

The Nordschleife will be there, of course, but you will also be able to drive the Südschleife - replaced by the GP circuit in the early 80s - and the combined version. Reiza mentions in the patch notes that more trackside objects will be added before the official stable release. The South loop is 7.7km long, narrow and fast paced compared to the modern circuit, with 27 mostly high speed corners. It brings the combined course over 28km for a single lap.

On a sidenote, the 2023 versions of the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series cars have also made their way in the game, and a whole bunch of small tweaks and fixes have also been made. For the full details, read the patch notes below.

Great track ... big fun! It's a pity that the old paddock is not included (Altes Fahrerlager), otherwise great work! Thousand Thanks!

How representative of the current game is the TDI demo on Steam? I gave the demo a try and it felt pretty rough, but not sure if it is getting the same updates as the main game?

Be aware Im only "driving" the higher powered formula cars in AMS2.
And most of these cars drive reasonably "realistic" - if I derive "realistic" from how more normal RL cars does behave.
The only point where I probably does agree slightly with you is some weird behaviour mid corners.
Where the car a short moment snaps from oversteer to understeer - and then (if you are lucky) back to controllable oversteer.
Dependent of the way you have set the diff settings up.

BæTheWay: I guess this weird snap is caused by a remaining Mad fault in how the diff does react when going from Coast to Power Ramp dependent behaviour:cool:
If you drive a car like say the MP4/4 or F Reiza, it feels very believable and I enjoy these cars a lot. The other cars where you notice the tendency you mention immediately ruins my immersion.

i just tried a few laps on the Südschleife with the Porsche rsr.
Blasphemy on a vintage track? :cautious:
Maybe but i enjoyed it a lot :)
good job Reiza !

Further physics improvements have been promised since this game was released. Every time it still feels fundamentally the same. I think it is basically always going to be this way because of the engine.

I do like AMS2, but I have just accepted that its physics and FFB are lacking. I have iRacing for my serious sim racing fix and competition.

AMS2 is perfect for loading up when I just want to relax and rip around Nords in gorgeous sunset in the RSR

exactly my thoughts, for serious and pure sim I have ACC, rF2 and iRacing, or even raceroom.....What I miss in AMS2 is not historic content, it's just rallycross content.

I do find these threads interesting just for the comments, although I can't help but of think of Charles Bukowski and his problem with the world.

I remember that I watched a special stage of the pre-WRC Rally Deutschland in about 1992 around the Nürburgring. The stage was named Südschleife and it included (among others) the remaining parts from Müllenbach to "Scharfer Kopf" which is a junction since 1984. I remember cars like BMW M3 E30 and Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Mk1 running on this stage. So if it is blasphemy, you are not the first one guilty. :)
