GT3 continues to be a favourite class among sim racers even outside of ACC, and we want to hear what your other go-to GT3 racing sim is.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has a huge roster of GT3 and GT4 cars, officially licensed by SRO. Its unwavering dedication to recreating the experience of driving a modern GT car has created arguably the most accurate recreation of a race series in gaming. Assuming this is the benchmark for you for GT3 racing (and please feel free to express an opinion otherwise in the comments below), what do you think is the second best way to experience GT3 racing in sims?

Continuing our weekly series where your responses in the comments below are the real story, we want to know where else you race GT3 cars, and why. Below are just some possibilities, but please let us know your own preference in the comments.
  • RaceRoom Racing Experience - RaceRoom's huge GT3 roster, known in game as GTR3, spans several years and includes some rarities from the world of GT3. Sector 3 has continued to add to the class in R3E, and newer versions of cars from Audi and Porsche are now present. The hugely customizable race setup allows multi-class racing, but sadly no night or wet weather.
  • rFactor 2 - On the eve of the release of the BMW M4 GT3, rFactor 2 offers players a growing roster of cars and licensed tracks to drive on. The recently updated UI allows us to get racing faster and easier than ever. The force feedback and car physics in rF2 are among the best in any sim, but adding the GT3 cars to your collection is very costly.
  • iRacing - The king of online racing could perhaps be the most pure way to enjoy GT3 racing from the comfort of your home. The car roster is not huge, but what is on offer in iRacing is nicely recreated. Obviously a monthly subscription is required to use the GT3 cars, but then you can compete against other and grow your virtual career as a GT3 driver.

rF2 second for me.

AMS2 very close 3rd, if they just added some more cars to the line up...

I don't like R3E GT3s, they just feel a bit dull and lifeless for me, in comparison to the above.

I also can't get on with iRacing, I just can't get to grips with where the limit is and I often go over it then the inevitable spin happens.

I think RSS' GT3 cars are really slept on, I much prefer them to the first-party GT3 cars in AC. Not sure if it propels AC to the top for me (I don't race in ACC (*ducks*)) but they're damn good.

Well, AMS 2 it is. Pretty much my go to sim at the moment. ACC is great but GT3 all the time gets boring. Raceroom and Rf2 have outdated graphics.

I never got the feeling in ACC that I have with rFactor 2, so rFactor 2 is my FIRST favorite GT3 racing sim. Maybe that is because I am still using a simple G27 wheel and ACC FFB just isn’t that good as with the more expensive DD wheels. Also, in rFactor 2, I can race the GT3’s on much more tracks, e.g. Nordschleife for example. So to answer your question, my SECOND favorite GT3 racing sim is… AMS2!:D Also because FFB feels better in that sim compared to ACC. ACC is number 3 for me. But I see a lot of RaceRoom posts here, so I may have to try these again.

My PC hates ACC in VR so I’ve given up with it.

I really enjoy the GT3 cars in AMS2 but there isn’t enough variety yet, sadly.

The GT3 DLC for RF2 seems pretty damn good to me, so RF2 is my fave at the moment.

Server hosting is taken into consideration when it comes to our go-to games. Lacking native Linux dedicated server is a huge problem and wine simply sucks, so apart from AC there's really not any games we play often.
AMS2 maybe. Although it has Windows server only, at least the server hosting does not make us server administrators look like freaking idiots as rF2 (what a joke) does.

I agree with you, if you search GT3 or GT4 ACC is King, if you like others like GT1, Group C or DTM i Drive Ams2, Assetto or RR, could be great if they will release a DLC with "Blancpain Legends" with the Aston Martín Dbrs9, Ferrari 430, Bmw Z4, Morgan plus8 GT3, Corvette C6....still dreaming if kunos would release

For me ACC is King on GT3 and GT4, every car drives very different, you must adjust TC and ABS, and tyre pressure if you don't want have a tyre puncture, apart from real map engines of every car so real, Second will be Rf2 but GT3 DLC is so expensive so never try, and RaceRoom got the best sound than others, don't like AC in GT3 or GT2, cause i think has too much grip and sense of power, and Ams2 in GT3 or GT4 is lifeless, they seem drives the same, so..

Automobilista 2 is my favourite, and R3E is second. ACC, whilst everyone else's favourite I'm sure, has a bit of a drawback for me in the sense that modern GTx cars are the only things on offer, and the modern GT3 field, whilst diverse in brand and the like, is not actually as diversely interesting as some of the older GT classes to drive*. AMS and R3E offer those in spades, and AMS has the advantage of its unique car and track roster wholesale, whilst R3E has some really nice tools to set up reallistic championships with adaptive AI and the like.

* This is not a knock on the modern GT3 class, which is a lot of fun to watch!

Objectively, ACC offers the most complete GT3 racing package on the market. An extensive selection of cars, skins and drivers, decent visuals even if they look horrendous on lower settings in some places, fantastic sound, decent FFB and multiplayer. That said, I spend more time in rF2 with the GT3s due to more multiclass racing options and alot more tracks being available to race at. So dependend on what I am prefering at a certain moment, those two products shuffle place 1 and 2 from time to time.

By order of enjoyment of GT3 cars: iRacing, ACC, AC, rFactor 2, Raceroom, AMS 2.
If all categories were included: iRacing, ACC, Dirt 2, AC, AMS, Raceroom, AMS 2, rFactor 2.

The recent update to AMS2 with new GT3 setups have transformed the GT3`s in AMS2 from also rans to right up there with the GT3`s in other sims.
I really cant decide so i play them all :)

ACC is the missionary position of sims.
I realise I'll have lost most here, so in other words, that means dull, monotonous, routine.
My side sim is RR.
