DTM 2021 Pack Released for RaceRoom Racing Experience

The 2021 DTM car pack is now available in the RaceRoom Racing Experience store.

RaceRoom Racing Experience has long been the virtual home for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race series, and now a 2021 DTM pack has been added to the sim.

The release brings with it the addition of two new cars, the Ferrari 488 GT3 and the McLaren 720S GT3. This is the debut of Ferrari in RaceRoom, and the fifth McLaren car in the game.

Sector 3 has brought us multiple seasons of DTM in R3E, dating back all the way to 1992. More recently, RaceRoom offered the powerful, wide cars of the 2013-2020 DTM series that included DRS and push-to-pass functions, making them incredibly fast race cars. That era of DTM included entries from Mercedes, BMW and Audi, but after the support of manufacturers dropped off, the series moved to the GT3 cars featured in this 2021 pack.

The pack on offer in RaceRoom features all 2021 entries except the Lamborghini Huracan GT3, and includes 6 vehicles and 22 liveries. All of the tracks on the 2022 DTM calendar are available through the RaceRoom store.

New sim content is always exciting, so if you want to try out either of the new cars or any of the other cars offered via the RaceRoom store, you can test drive them in the game at any time.

Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the 2021 DTM pack for RaceRoom in the comments below.

If that's the thing sets you off, you where never in.
Well having arguably the most outdated looking and at the same time the most inconsistently running sim on decent modern PCs due to DX9 does that.

Just to reiterate my findings... Yes, even ACC runs much better and much smoother with AI around. R3E is a stutter fest due to not utilizing the CPU, only a single thread, and stuttering happens even with powerful CPUs with great single core performance. On my PC (Ryzen 5 5600X + Radeon RX 5700 XT) running it on Vulkan through DXVK improves the performance a lot from my previous testing, but introduces visual artifacts since it's not officially supported.

Checked the Ferrari on YouTube. Another new release, another generic data display that is far from the real thing. Yes, future commenter, that is very important for me, even if it's not for you.

You might want to check your system, I've never experienced stuttering when running ai and I've had some crazy large grids at times!

Whilst my PC runs intel and nvidia tech, that shouldn't mean we have such a polarising experience.

Slate dx9 all you like I do not care. Runs butter smooth otherwise its your PC. Im having a blast thank you very much Sector3 Studios

It's been going on for like 4-5 years from around the time they introduced expanded AI grids. On 4 system configurations as well since then.

i5 4460 + GTX 1060 6GB
R5 2600 + GTX 1060 6GB
R5 2600 + RX 5700 XT
R5 5600X + RX 5700 XT

No "strange" peformance issues on other titles. I have documented it, posted something here but mostly on S3 forums, with frametime graphs, etc. Some people confirm it, some people say it's smooth. In reality not all combos are stuttery, a good stuttery example would be WTCR + Silverstone race with 24 AI. In the first few twisty corners there are massive stutters as the cars that leave my field of view get back into my field of view. Stutters are into the 40-50s FPS, biggest dips into high 30s.

What I see from the data is clear stutters from CPU bottleneck since only 1-2 threads do work. Much better on the R5 5600X than 2600 but still there and still very noticable for someone who is sensitive to frametime inconsistencies. It gets slightly better as the race goes on but on stuttery combos it never disappears.

I don't feel like I should give more energy into explaining and proving it as I have done it enough on multiple forums, but it makes me way too irrationally annoyed when I read about R3E running flawlessly. And that "it's my PC". It is R3E. Whether it's DX9, or not running well on AMD, I don't care. Testing on Vulkan makes it run super smooth in those problematic combos as well (with visual bugs), so my conclusion is that DX9 is the core culprit.

To be fair you have more than enough resources to play the game. Are you sure there is no other software/plugin/app running in the background that could be the problem? Try S3 support on discord. Unfortunately, they more responsive on that side not the official website forum. I often hear the same complaints about stuttering and that ACC plays better performance wise. It must be something strange in their code I guess. I have had no stuttering whatsoever but just a few frame drops 1st lap turn one with large grids. Im not using DXVK yet so cannot comment on that.

Everybody dunking on dx9 when it actually looks good for dx9 and allows me to run 100 car grids at a semi-reasonable fps on a pc that can't field 20 cars on AC without massive drops. I appreciate raceroom for what it is: an awesome driving and sounding platform for those who like a little "rustic" touch to their graphics.
100 car grids that’s enormous, looks more of an hardware stress testing. :whistling: But admitting its a good game also in VR and its needs more attention by simracers. I guess more buyers and they will hop to DX12 or Vulcan.

BTW, Did you test with or without all the AC mods, because thats the real performance problem nowadays, to much apps, CM/Sol that is reaching the state of being to complex/fat in combination to cars/tracks that are not good being optimized.

The thing is you cannot buy 1000 copies of the same DLC alone. That means other people request has to be considered to get their money to keep the sim afloat. To me for example other than the DX9 i have some other issues preventing me to enjoy RRRE 1. old interface, for example the AI selection page need to be modernised, 2. I have all the sim but RRRE is only sim forcing me to use AMD eyefinity for triple screen support. 3.If rain is hard to implement, we at least deserve full time of day cycle system not just choose "morning", "afternoon" etc

Yea that would be more cpu related huh haha. I can also run on max graphics so yea, thank you dx9!

But as for AC, it could be any number of things tbh. I personally think it's all the liveries I've downloaded and I'm sure more than a few are 2k or even 4k and that plays a part. Idk how to compress them down to 1024 size. But even as I say that, I get random drops just hot lapping sometimes, and I lock my fps to 60. Yea, I use Sol, more for the graphics than for the weather.

There is already a time of day cycle. It goes from dawn to sunset, then stops. Just choose whatever time multiplier you like. Sky changes, shadows move with the sun position etc. It's not a full day/night but it's something.
