RiMS Racing Reveals Two New Bikes in Final Week Before Release

RiMS Racing Release Date 01.jpg
RiMS Racing is set for release on August 19th, and developer RaceWard Studio has revealed more details about the title.

RaceWard Studio is hard at work to meet their deadline of August 19th for the first release of their new motorbike racing simulator, RiMS Racing. In collaboration with publisher Nacon, the social media accounts of the teams have been busy sharing details and teasers.

Most recently, two new motorbikes have been confirmed: the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR and the Honda CBR1000RR ABS. The announcement of each these high-performance additions to the title was accompanied by a brief video of the bike in action in RiMS Racing.

RiMS Racing is being marketed as the ultimate biking simulation. In addition to a focus on realism on track, RaceWard is also quick to point out that customizations and fitting parts off the track will also be key features of the title. Promotional footage of the sim has been showcasing almost as much of the garage tuning screens as it has gameplay and replay track footage.

The development team has also shared several behind the scenes looks at the creation of RiMS Racing, the most recent being a look at how RaceWard is bringing the sounds of the bikes to us. In the video we see the lengths they went to in order to capture the sounds not only trackside, but also onboard the bikes from various angles.

A release date of August 19th is still being targeted by RaceWard, though the videos shared have noted that this date will be for the European and Asian regions, with America being given a release date of August 24th.

We’ve already set up a home for RiMS Racing here at RaceDepartment. Be sure to check out out RiMS Racing forum after the title is released for all the news, tips and downloads to improve your RiMS Racing experience. And let us know in the comments below if you plan to add RiMS Racing to your game collection.

Awesome. Didn't I hear wonderful blurb about TT IoM, and then more about TT IoM 2?
Both games have crap physics. Everything else was great, just crap physics.
Wonder how this will turn out, I won't be able to tell you. I'll need someone else to buy it and read their opinions.

What the !!!! Who's the guy with the Spider-Man black mask on :roflmao:
I'm assuming he's the Bloody Beetroots but does he not realize the mask is supposed to cover the mouth not the eyes? :D

The last 30 seconds shows the unfortunate part about bike sims. Why not have a joystick concept with handle bars that are maybe 1/2 scale to allow you to lean left and right and use a twist throttle, etc.? Seems easy enough just probably not popular enough to build.

You mean like this?

if this game is gonna play anything as the demo did a couple of months ago, this is a hard pass. really really terrible physics.

I was tormented by vague doubts, I looked for information about the development team, and so I found on linkedin that the CEO of RaceWard Studio had worked at Milestone s.r.l. for a long time in leading positions. I am sure that part of the team is also from Milestone. So it is quite possible that we will get a pretty decent game in terms of physics.
But there is one problem - the publisher Nacon. Today, most of their games (except for the WRC series) are made-sell-forget. Support ends the next week after release.

Once you move past the physics of the actual bike the rest is a black art. So many different styles , even at Motogp level and they are all potentially equally fast. I was watching the MotoVudu series by Simon Crafar and some of the stuff he's teaching goes against the mainstream but he's still fast as ferk.

I am interested in motobike racing (no, i dont have one) and meanwhile i own some games. Some of them ive skipped coz they are crap (Ride for example, idea is good but product is not what i want).
MX2019 Motocross is not the best candidate but its fun to drive.

But coming back to tarmac games i would say TT Isle of man 1 (TT_IoM1) is quite good also when the breaking behavoir is sometime strange.
TT_IoM2 is not bad but there is no big step according to TT_IoM1.
Generally TT-IoM1 is a solid sim but Kylotonn didnt draw the potential of this franchise.

Now i have watched all the available material about this game and how the bikes behave there.
I know it not allow to judge 100% what this game will be at the end but it shows the direction.
I would say this will do not have good physics.
An the other hand its probably not easy to implement a good motobike physic but the direct steering effects must be fast give a good feeling to have the situation under control.
This video of the devs looks like an typical glorious marketing strategy and i think this game will be something like Ride "5"....

One point is also strange.... the used several micros to record sounds of the bike but the sound seems to be a total desaster.
In this devs video all the sound is also "masked" via the background music.

Here is also a good example:
Sorry, but this is bullshit. In my opinion.

I dont like to use the camera behind the bike and i prefer the drivers view.
But i think the sound is on drivers position not better.....

This is how a bike should sound like (sorry if the bahavior is not completly legal, but its just for sound compare)

And this Dare Davil fancy guy is just the icing on the cake! :)

First video seemed to have riders elbow down like MGP riders...no one does that on a race superbike let alone a road bike!!!

I've played the demo of this game. The physic was terrible for me: full front brake and the bike was completely normal, not even a movement of the rear wheel, not even a small stoppie; full throttle at 0 TCS and the rear was perfectly fine, not a single movement in the wrong way or throwing me in the air; change of direction, I would say that a truck would be more lighter than these bikes, these bike are to stiff in changes of direction. The Zolder small chicanes were a disaster to make for me. AI? Well, what I could say... MotoGP 13 had a better AI. At least the rider movement were pretty good, the sounds too. Graphics, I prefer MotoGP 21 and Ride4 a lot more. The idea of putting on customizable parts, taking down other parts to change others like in real life, it's a great idea. But I think that after a few hours it will break the patience. Only 8 bike.. ok I saw some fantastic tracks, but only 8 bikes? Ok all the parts to change, but for me is a no.

I gave in and bought the game. I've requested a refund. It's a terrible mess of bugs.
The bugs we pointed out in the demo? Still there!
As far as I could tell it's just exactly the same state of affairs, no progress.
Fair warning, if you MUST buy this game at least wait for the inevitable patch.

This game has absolutely nothing going for it. The graphics look outdated and even the models in the loading screen look terrible. The sounds are mediocre at best, most of the time you can actually hear the samples overlapping and the most important part about any racing game is a complete joke...

The physics are utterly horrible and these bikes handle like they`re attached to some invisible rubber bands without any dynamic movements, wobbles or slides and on top of that very sluggish and stiff handling. And what`s up with the engine revving coming out of corners like you`re pulling the clutch? Is that suppose to simulate wheel spin?
Never thought i`d ever in my life say this but they have a long way to go for they reach the physics level of recent Milestone products.

The only novelty it has is this tedious and time consuming way of customizing one of the few bikes there are. This all would have been somewhat fine if it had a price tag of about 20 bucks, but seeing as these developers are already releasing "DLC" on release it`s probably nothing more than a ordinary cash grab that most likely gets one or two patches at most and then is left to die before they start hyping up a 2nd "simulation"

Have you looked at the DLC? All the parts you race for, you earn money to buy, it's all in the DLC!!!
What's the damn point if its already in your inventory?!?!
Never thought I'd say it, but milestone make the best bike games by a long way.
