Race Sim Studio have released their Formula Hybrid X 2022 EVO car for Assetto Corsa. The popular modding team has based this car heavily on the recently debuted 2022 Formula One car.

One of the aspects of sim racing that keeps us coming back is the ability to recreate our favorite motorsport series past and present. Race Sim Studio is also offering users of Assetto Corsa on PC a glimpse of the future as well.

The RSS Formula Hybrid X 2022, released originally in early 2020, has now been bundled with an EVO version. This latest version is made designed based on the most recent information we’ve been given about next season's Formula One car.

The real-world Formula One car for the 2022 season will be a visual and technical overhaul versus recent seasons. F1 is looking to improve competitiveness by decreasing the “dirty air” effect generated by the cars currently. This dirty air makes following closely through many corners nearly impossible, since the pursuing car is not able to generate the same downforce as the leading car.

With this premise in mind, the X 2022 is a very different driving experience from what you may have become accustomed to with the standard Formula Hybrid cars. True to their real-life counterparts, the X and the X EVO show a noticeable drop in overall performance versus the outgoing models, and you can safely expect to be several seconds slower per lap compared to the FH 2021.

Race Sim Studio has given the sim racing community a new car mod for Assetto Corsa each year since 2017. The cars are known to be among the highest quality mods available for AC, and this year’s car continues this trend.

The Formula Hybrid X cars demands a lot more of you as a sim racer than the standard Formula Hybrid cars. The huge downforce available in the current year Formula Hybrid won’t be as much of a factor in the X version. This translates into requiring more caution when approaching corners, as the car is more prone to understeer and can’t rely on downforce to the same extent.

Raced the original car quite a bit when it was released. I think it was, and is a lot of fun to drive. Looks and sounds are stellar as we've come to expect.
It's impressive how the evolution from FH 2020 to FH 2021 and now Evo (X) seems so authentic given the regulations and how the cars behave in real life.
I'm also very excited to see what else is coming from RSS in the next few months as per the announcement. Perhaps the fabled V10R?

In my opinion AC could have continued for a long time, we all see its potential even today. If AC is still a great game even today, certainly techically not like the more modern ACC or AMS2, it is thanks to the immense panorama of modders from the smallest to the most well-known ones as RSS for the cars. THANKS TO EVERYONE! AC remains for me the game I liked to play from drift to f1.
