RaceRoom | Circuit de Charade Trailer Released + Crosslés in Action

Today, RaceRoom released a new trailer for their 'Driver's Pack' set to release this month. It showcases the new race track, Circuit de Charade as well as the 2 new Crosslé additions.

While showcasing the great elevation changes of the track in the outliers of the French alps, both Crosslé cars in this pack get shown as well.

Even though some of the colour effects on the video are questionable, it doesn't deter from the action-packed track that will be making its debut in modern sim racing games. Truly, the track awaiting RaceRoom gamers is like a compact version of the Nordschleife.

Little runoff and awe-inspiring elevation changes bring forth the comparison to the most famous and maybe even infamous race track in Germany at least, if not even Europe.

While the circuit is getting a great showcase in this video, details about the new cars don't come too short too.

The 'Driver's Pack' included Crosslé 90F, for example, receives a great showing of the dash, confirming all suspicions: it is a driver's car without too many assists.

Finally, a good show of both the Crosslés' seemingly well-developed suspension travel allows for some wobbly-goodness shots, showcasing the strengths of RaceRooms' ageing engine.

The 'Driver's Pack' is set to release in December of 2022. If RaceRooms' standard DLC practice is to be believed, you will be able to purchase each of the packs' content separately as well. The free base game of RaceRoom will of course be required to play this content.

Amazing stuff from Raceroom... they should add most option for offline racing (in the creations of the championships, in the variety of points, qualification systems, ballast systems, real life driver performance) and it will really be close to perfection

this DLC is maybe one of the best in raceroom, finally not a DTM GT3 reskinned....
Im very excited...until I remember it's DX9 with no rain, no night....

Only the original Charade long track would I buy
To me both the classic - and the modern track layout are thrills simracing with cars reflecting the time, primarily via AC-, rF1- and GTR2 track+car mod combos.
For classic versions most memorable combo's in rF1 1970 CSGT WSC's at superb classic track mod, PnG GTR2 classics at ditto admirable classic track mod work, but most astonishing latest some 6-7 years ago in a quality 1971 F1 AC mod at likewise lovable AC track mod of the classic layout and via early AC mods of the GPL conversion project.

Then some years passed without touching the modern layout, since my oppinion was the same as yours.

Just until a late saturday afternoon a couple of years ago visiting my parents, looking old photo albums from vacations in France during mid 80ies, and one pic from 1986 really struck me. Knowing the sourroundings, just passed the Puy de Dôme, taking a rest with a view down over Clermont-Ferrand, and I immediately knew we'd been taking lunch just in the vicinity of the track, with ignorant teen-me not knowing anything of the mythical track! (only knew about Michelin Factory of which from our top overview seemed to sourround the entire city).
So in a few secs later 3D panning and tilting on google earth app and realizing that the modern, shorter layout and slopes indeed are tempting. So late evening drove directly home and got my engines started in AC modern track mod and modern french Alpines and Renaults, even filling with the Citroën WRC mod bit for a dance.
Then later with standard Kunos italian content, as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Abarths and so on...and I really got hooked on the modern layout!

To me a modern Charade as official sim content is warmly welcomed.
Ofcourse, an official precise authentic modelled bid of the classic version would be just absolutely fantastic, but though sharing big parts of same slopes, try instead comparing the modern shorter track layout to other modern track designs, and it's really competitive, both speaking just hotlapping, short competition, endurance or just for track day fun!
Real world experience is still on my bucket list.

Looking forward as always to any new content:)...and this Track looks like a good cruise, purchase this pack for sure.

Have watched a YT Video of Jimmy Broadbent driving an early access / work in progress build version of his 'Praga' car around Nordschleife and gives great commentary of how the car handles...looks and sounds promising even at that stage:thumbsup:

Just watched that video myself, and thought the car (and Jimmy's description of the consultation process and what they were aiming to replicate from real life) to sound very promising.

Not sure Charade is for me as a track, but I'll strongly consider picking up the Praga.

Wait for it..........wait for it.........New graphics engine please

RaceRoom used to be my favorite sim, i have over 600 hours into the game and used to buy every single track that was released.

But..... they need to move on from the DX9 engine. Not even a 13900K is enough to play in VR at native 90fps :( (Valve Index with decent visual settings) And in the meanwhile my RTX3090 is almost running at idle.

I love their tracks and some of the cars packs and the ability to create custom championships with multi class, but they need to stop milking that ancient game engine.

In recent weeks I've developed a liking to RaceRoom. The lack of night racing and rain do not bother me at all - rain is way too hard for me to drive, and night would be pretty, but I almost never do night races with any other sim I own. The force feedback is spot on for my taste, and the engine sounds are satisfying in my ears.
What I really love about this simis the "adaptive AI" setting offline, and also their multiplayer system online where I always quickly found an interesting lobby to join (albeit sometimes with unfair drivers, but a lot less than for example in AC)
So I bought some stuff during their (ongoing until tomorrow) huge sale and I'm quite happy with it. I'll do a free test of the cars and if I like them, I may very well buy the pack.

I wish every Raceroom user a lot of fun with this new track, but every time I see a new DLC track that was already released years ago as a free quality mod for AC, I can't hide the grin on my face.

Considering that almost all existing tracks have been released for AC, all the others game developers can't release any new track anymore then ? What about people who like to play some others games aswell? :D

And yes, it's not for free because it required hundreds of work hours to create this track from scratch. And such a masterpiece fully deserves what it will cost, believe me ;)

Where did you collect the data from this track ? Thx

I came to love this track back in the GPL times, and then when they released the 1965 version of it I loved it even more. The modern track feels pretty meh to me.
