The British GT Pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione was the last expansion on the public roadmap published by 505 Games in early 2020, now, over a year since the release of that roadmap, do Kunos have any future content planned for ACC or is this the end of the line?

Assetto Corsa Competizione went live with v1.0 on May 29th 2019, but before its 1.0 release, ACC existed as an early access title, originally launching the early access program back in late 2018. At the time, the ACC website included a roadmap that would highlight updates & improvements coming in the near and distant future for the early access title, this roadmap would then live on past ACC's v1.0 release to include the IGTC Pack, GT4 Pack, Console Releases & British GT Pack. But as you probably know, the roadmap has run its course.

What this means, as of the writing of this article, is that we have very little to go on when talking about what could be in store for ACC going forwards, or more worryingly, if there's anything in store for ACC going forwards at all.

Fortunately, Kunos Simulazioni has given the ACC community a glimmer of insight into the possible future of ACC, and when I say Kunos I mean Marco Massarutto (Lead Producer & Designer for ACC) specifically as he was interviewed by SimRacing Unlimited back in April and revealed some interesting information regarding ACC & Kunos' future ambitions.

Parts 1 & 2 of that interview are available on RaceDepartment if you haven't had the chance to read them already, and of course a big thanks to SimRacing Unlimited for conducting the interview & allowing us to host it on RaceDepartment as well.

If you already know the contents of the interview or don't feel like reading the whole thing I have included the most important points of the interview regarding the future of ACC.
  • They are evaluating content & opportunities within SRO's area of interest for ACC
  • The possibility of the GT2 Europe being implemented into ACC could be discussed
Now, if you know anything about the licensing partnership that Kunos have with SRO then the first point won't come as a surprise to you at all. In fact, that point was the answer to a question regarding Kunos being able to produce content for series that are "sublicensed" by SRO, the ADAC GT Masters is the example given within the interview. So whilst it's not a definitive Yes or No answer, it's likely that ACC's future, for now at least, is headed elsewhere.

The second point is a bit more "clear" if you will. The idea of developing a "GT2 Europe Pack" for ACC could be discussed soon. And whilst this answer isn't clear cut either, it is at least an insight into what Kunos could be developing for ACC going forwards.

So we know that Kunos are only looking into developing content within SRO's area of interest (Sorry Nordschleife fans) and the GT2 Europe series is a possible future content-wise for ACC.

Personally, I think once the global pandemic situation calms down and normality is mostly resumed, some of the remaining GTWC series are the most likely candidates to be adapted. Both GTWC Asia & America have some fantastic circuits that would a lot of depth to ACC's current track rotation but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't like to see another car class make its way into ACC at some point in the future.

But I want to know your thoughts. What do you think is in store for ACC going forwards? Would you like to see any of the suggestions above developed? And what content haven't I mentioned that you believe will make its way into ACC? Let us know in the comments below!
