All RaceRoom Content Free to Access Until End of May

All RaceRoom Content Free Until End of May.jpg
The rest of May is going to be a treat for sim racers who want to get into RaceRoom: Until May 30th, everything in the sim is completely free to access – cars, tracks and modes are all available to anyone who wants to give them a go.

RaceRoom’s status in the sim racing world is a bit unusual as it is the only big sim that is free-to-play. Apart from the already included base content, the sim has a lot of interesting cars and tracks to offer, however: Licenses for DTM or ADAC GT Masters mean that these series can be fully recreated, as all the tracks they race on are there as well. Even lesser-known tracks such as Bilster Berg or Nogaro are part of the sim.

Exciting car classes make for a good amount of variety regarding the vehicle roster, too: Whether you want to race WTCC cars from 2013 to 2017, 1992 DTM cars or open-wheelers such as the Formula RaceRoom US, a circa 2015-spec IndyCar, RaceRoom has you covered. High-downforce cars with tons of aerodynamic grip are available just as well as a 1969 NSU TTS – and, of course, the shopping cart that was introduced as an April Fool’s joke. In total, over 180 vehicles and more than 50 tracks are there for everyone to try.

Should you feel like starting a ranked racing career, RaceRoom hosts events every week for sim racers to participate in. Recently, ranked championships have been introduced as well, making the online multiplayer even more exciting. Of course, you can also have offline fun in time trial mode or race against AI. You can find the schedule for the coming two weeks below.

This would coincide nicely with Steam's rumoured week-long "Racing Fest" sale, apparently due to start on the 23rd. For those interested, I'd recommend trying out as much R3E content as you can this week while keeping one eye on the DLC prices for your favourites, as they could end up significantly cheaper during the sale (which would also end on the 30th).

My protip is to buy VRP from Raceroomstore.com. You get an initial discount, then when you're in the RRE game store, they give you a bonus for using vRP. Its great.

Though, I started by picking up the DTM experience pack way back in the day and it was a terrific deal for getting a full field of cars and a season worth of tracks. It actually made adding the Euro Track Pack cheaper too when I did that.

The content is cheap, but not low-quality. New FFB needs tweaking and is not AMS2 or AC level, true, but you can still have a great simulation experience. The AI race setup is 2nd to none. Full seasons, different rule sets, setting up grids. No one has done it better.

Like the game, but pricing is getting worse - IMO.

I have the WTCR2020 pack, yet they expect EUR 17,50 for 2021 - that’s one new Hyundai Electra, an updated Audi RS3 and liveries. 2021 also has one car less…

That’s imo pushing it for getting 1 car less than the season before, 1 new car, 1 updated car and if you have 2020 basically 4.5 rehash cars.

Not being cheap, I have almost all Raceroom content, and buy more games and dlcs than I can reasonably play. I almost bought the pack without second thought until I noticed the content vs 2020 vs price vs discount.

Everyone should try Bilster Berg, I love it. A circuit with some real character.
Wish the AI was better there. The high speed downhill left hand turn is an AI brake check at any AI level.
I've lapped this track in the 964 Cup or 92 DTM cars for hours.

Really been enjoying all the content, I definitely recommend giving R3E a try if you haven’t before. While it doesn’t have the graphical punching weight or customizability of its contemporaries, the gameplay is extremely solid.

Raceroom is a very pleasant sim.
I own maybe about a third of the game. Also it is a nice news to have the opportunity to give a try at the entire content.

But i must admit that i have lot of difficulties to find advantages in comparaison with the other big simulations on the market.

I am not sure that i would invest more money in raceroom. I just don´t use it enough.
Or i will wait huge sales.

The only sim i would invest more at the moment at full price is probably ACC, if other DLC are released.

Rfactor 2 is making significant progress, but again i don´t think i will invest further. I can live with some great mods.
