The latest car to be confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC set to be released next week for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the Porsche 911 992 Cup car.

Kunos and 505 Games are releasing a new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione next week. The Challengers Pack DLC will bring a number of new cars to the sim, including the three we have already reported on here at RaceDepartment: the BMW M2 CS Racing, Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Lamborghini Huracan Trofeo Evo2.

The latest car to be confirmed is the newest version of the best selling racing car of all time. The Porsche Cup car being released in this DLC is based on the 992 edition of the Porsche 911.

Over 4,000 Porsche Cup cars have been sold worldwide for real racing, and it seems just as desirable in the virtual world, as many of the racing games commonly discussed here at RD have some version of the car.

The update to the existing Porsche Cup car in ACC will see the car fitted with improved aerodynamic components, including a larger wing which is switched to a gooseneck mounting style. The car hasn't received a huge bump in power from the engine, but improvements to how that power is delivered and the benefits of the aero changes combine to make the car notably quicker than the outgoing Cup car.

The Porsche Cup car has established itself as a great spec series race car in sim racing, and this improved version in Assetto Corsa Competizione should quickly find a fanbase.

Are you interested in driving this car? Where does this rank in your mind compared to the other cars that have been confirmed for the Challengers Pack DLC? Let us know in the comments below.

Instant buy for me. It’s great to have new cars in the game.

As for the new tracks, hopefully in a few months.

A safety car would be great too…

I wonder if it will be the spec with ABS
I'm pretty sure it will have it.

The 992 GT3 Cup comes with ABS and TC on board from the factory but is just "deactivated" in the ECU in certain (Porsche) Carrera Cups (Deutschland, Great Britian and France I'm sure of).

Since the ACC version is probably gonna be based of the version that will run alongside the new Lambo ST and the Ferrari Challenge car in this year's SRO GT2 European Series, I would guess it has both driving assists available.

Personally I am extremely excited by this car coming to ACC. I am a Porsche Cup fan boy so as please as punch I will get this in my preferred sim.

I actual subscribed to iracing and got a few tracks to try there version (which I feel is great)

I also hope it comes with the ability to use ABS. Traction Control I can live without, but but at my limited skill level I fined not having ABS very chalanging.

Best wishes
Bob

I hope that these cars comes with actual team liveries. Not the randomly generated crap that they have for the old Porsche cup and huracan ST.
