BMW M2 CS Racing Confirmed for Assetto Corsa Competizione

The first of the cars to be included in the Challengers Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione has been confirmed as the BMW M2 CS Racing.

The latest news surrounding an upcoming DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the confirmation of its first car. The BMW M2 CS Racing will be included in the Challengers Pack DLC, which is scheduled to be released on the 23rd of this month.

The M2 CS Racing is a legitimate race car, though it won't fit into the main GT3 and GT4 classes you'll find in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Like the Huracan Super Trofeo and Porsche Cup cars already present in the title, this new BMW is intended to be used in one-make races.

BMW's M2 CS Racing car is a stripped down version of the M2 road car. It's powered by an inline twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. All but the most essential parts are stripped from the interior, which keeps the car light and nimble.

The remaining cars that are to be included in the next ACC DLC have yet to be confirmed, but with less than two weeks to go before the pack is released to the public, we can expect lots of news from the Kunos team very soon.

Are you excited to try this car out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Those two cars represent a couple of teams that ran among the full Blancpain 18' grid in their own Group Nat class in some races. Most likely, that particular Huracán ST power output isn't even comparable to what the single series ran. Allowing them to run ingame as single series with fantasy liveries to fill the grid was just a (handy) bonus, given their disadvantage and lack of peers in the 18' grid.

It'll be a different situation to the later releases this month if they properly represent current single-series Cup versions, like the ST Evo.

I am curious if the ACC M2 will exhibit the hop the rF2 version had. Keep us apprised on it's handling once the release date arrives please.

Cup and Huracán ST is now under GTC class, i wonder what happens with 488 and Huracán evo st, maybe GT2?

TBH, when earlier the Huracán ST Evo was announced for an esport series and then no more news were heard, I thought they'd include it in a later GT2 DLC (which was never announced; GT2 not being much popular). By that way, it could then be run as an improvised single series same way as current 18' ST/911Cup, even if the car represented the Evo GT2 BoP.

OTH, if it's a plain ST Evo series spec, I'll be a tiny bit disappointed if they don't include real team/liveries of the support series to run a 21' ST Euro season, but just a presentation livery + esports variations. Wouldn't count on a 22' ST Evo2 so early.
