The series started off well-intentioned to showcase F1 and give a personality to teams and drivers. Unfortunately, it's descended down a reality tv path and attracted levels of partisanship you'd normally associate with football.

Social media in particular is now very toxic, and seems to be led by "fans" who support personalities but don't understand why or how penalties and rules apply.

Seems very glass half empty but most DTS fans want to sling mud rather than understand why different parts changes result in different grid penalties.

For me, this is must watch TV. It's almost like Neflix is part of F1 now. If will be interesting to how they handle Spa, officiating, and going to countries with questionable human rights practices.
I’m not sure about the first two, but I am sure that the last one will be swiftly and efficiently swept under the carpet.

When it comes to documentaries, Netflix is utter trash - saw the one about Randy Lanier, completely lost any sympathy for him. Like the one about Scott Tucker, makes you wish, after you watched it, the BoP throw away the keys and lock them in forever

Well its not really a documentary and it was never meant to be, its more of a docutainment kinda thing and its quite good for what it is

I heard Jack Nicholls on a podcast (Missed Apex or FF1S) and he kind of clowned on DTS a bit. They were talking about something and he said in a mock announcer voice, "Because in Formula One you have either dry or wet tires depending on the conditions." The fake announcing kind of gets to me a little bit, but I understand why it's there. And I like Jack Nicholls, so I'm happy he gets a paycheck out of it.

We watch it every year. We watch all the races and I keep up with F1 pretty closely, so it's kind of a fun walk down memory lane. Of course, they do over-dramatize some things, but overall I find it quite entertaining. And I'm glad that it's raising interest in F1 here in the States.

Yes and yes I quite enjoy this Netflix show. The pictures are superb. Who cares about fake drama or not, we are old enough to think by ourselves, are we not ? :coffee:
