Excellent Deals In Lunar Sale & Support a Charity

Spa Francorchamps rFactor 2.jpg
It feels like the last sale just ended, and yet again there is another sale. This time it's the Lunar New Year Sale. For us simracing-fans the Lunar New Year Sale is a good one.

Personally I also want to highlight the sale over at Humble Store, where you can choose a charity that will get up to 10% of what you pay for games. A feature many are unaware of, is the option to choose between thousands of charities that will get the donation from your purchase.

Let's head straight on to the sales. Note that prices are shown in EUR. There may be regional differences, but % off is the same. Will also be noted if the price is historical low, either if it is matching previously historical low, or new low, based on SteamDB and in EUR.

I've been a motorsport-fan for as long as I can remember. Initially a rallycross-maniac, but got into F1 around the time I started school. Got my first sim when I was 7, but didn't start properly until I got a wheel when I was 12. Been a staff at RaceDepartment since 2012. Mainly the dirty-guy who does rally-stuff here. But also management-titles and rFactor 2.

Some good deals in there!

I've been in no rush to buy any AMS2 dlc at full price as the title IMO has alot of maturing to do before I move it into my regular rotation of games.

I've been using these steam sales and grabbing DLC at 50% off, avg. $5 a pack and saved quite a bit compared to the reg. cost of the season season pass here in Canada @$114.

I might finally pick American Truck Simulator with this sale, but I just want to use it casually without any career modes.

Can you drive whatever you want wherever you want or does the game force you into a career mode? I notice the description on the store page says "…making you work your way up…" which is why I'm asking.

If there's an "unlock code" to bypass career mode, is it just a one-time action or would I still need to go and enable/purchase individual items within the game to actually make use of them? Basically, I don't want the Wreckfest model where "unlocking" just meant unlimited funds.

you forgot stock car extreme and rfactor 1 have same price 7.49usd

Stock Car Extreme wasn't on my mind at all. I was just thinking Automobilista and that was it. rFactor 1 slipped away. I did think of that before I started on the article. Sorry.

I am sure there's both a money and exp cheat/cheat engine that works. I don't know as I genuinely like the career-aspect myself, but I would advise you to do a little google search on it :)

I was surprise that Nascar 21 had DLC. I see they have a "Patriot Pack" Looks like armed forces skins. This is just so American. Not meaning any judgment, its just so uniquely American, and I was struck how that American culture is reflected in the game..

Haven't seen it, probably don't want to, right? I can imagine it's not a good look.

When they sell project cars 3 for that low, you already know that paying anything for a DLC in any of the other games that are multiple years older, is just a scam.

It is completely up to you. There is no separate 'career mode'. You can choose to amass a fortune or spend it on more trucks, drivers, garages etc. These will just help you to amass an even bigger fortune more quickly.

AMS2 Racin USA Pack part 2 for me... :)

I must say, Assetto Ultimate for 9€(!) and RF2 for 6€ are absolute no brainers for newcomers.
That's just cheap... :D

Very strange, they are still asking money for project car !! ... I thought this kind of garbage would become a freeware ^_^

They could give it with WRC10... And call it "SimShame Pack" !

Cheers,
Donnie :)

Thank you for the reminder about the sale.
I did never think I would buy AC because AMS2 and Raceroom is all I need.
But when I saw AC: Ultimate Edition offered for silly 9.05 $ I first thought it was a typo :p - but then I could see that it was possible to get almost all the official AC content for about a hamburgers price I decided to open my stingy wallet.

The download/install took about 1H :roflmao:
- but now comes the reason I post this kinda add for the AC sale.
After about ½h to get video and controller set up I looked about which car to check AC out with.
Man oh man I was so lucky that I found the Lotus 98T I could remember from my aborted rF2 install.
And now comes my announcement:

The AC version of this car is the most terrifying but also most sexy car I have driven in any racing sim.
The turbo arrival is terrific terrible to control - but when you once in a while dont spinout the reward is soo huge.
Haha because Im pretty used to the highest powered formula cars in AMS2 and Raceroom I just turned the turbo boost op to 100%.
Great mistake.
In ACs L98T the turbo feels like its able to launch the car from Cape Canaveral.
I couldnt complete even 1 lap on the Monza version without chicanes and oval (66?).
So I had to start from boost 60% and then get to know how to handle this special 98T sledgehammer boost when it stuck.

As said I havent got this feeling in any other sim - and for those of you who would like to explore this terrific sexy feeling in maybe not the most extremely realistic racing sim for almost no money - use this sale

OK to end this amateur add for a commercial sale I will have brag a bit.
Because I got down to some reasonable laptimes in the special timetrial mode there is in AC:
Check this out:
Ups sorry I didnt save the pic from the timetrial of 1:11.922 but you have to believe me :D
