Ferrari To Be Part of DTM Pack in RaceRoom

Ferrari Joins RaceRoom.jpg
RaceRoom is continuing the path of interesting announcements: Just a day after the release of a brand-new version of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, complete with the oval layout, the sim’s social media accounts posted about the addition of a certain Italian manufacturer to their roster – none other than Ferrari! The legendary Scuderia has been missing from RaceRoom thus far, but will be on board with the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo soon.

It is not clear yet if the car is going to be the only vehicle by the Italian manufacturer to join the sim’s car roster – it is certain that the 488 GT3 Evo is going to come as part of a new DTM pack, however. Since the 2021 season, GT3 cars have replaced the previous Class 1 vehicles in the championship, the exclusive deal with the DTM means RaceRoom is adjusting accordingly and will bring the cars to the sim. No date has been given yet.

The interesting question is if the 488 GT3 Evo is going to be the only Ferrari car to come to RaceRoom - though the short announcement video posted on social media suggests more to come. RaceRoom contains various historic vehicles that would see Ferrari cars as a welcome addition. Also, there are no official Formula 1 cars in the sim – it remains to be seen if the Italians are willing to license their most important category of cars to RR, however. Apart from the Codemasters F1 games, the only other sim to feature officially licensed Ferrari F1 cars is Assetto Corsa – and the most recent vehicle in the sim is 2017’s SF70H.

What do you think? Is this announcement a sign of more things to come? Which Ferrari cars would you like to see in RaceRoom? Let us know in the comments!

Seeing a DTM pack composed of GT3 cars makes me sad :/
But the old DTM formula was not working anymore. It ended badly with just 2 brands left.
Was becoming too expensive for most "normal" racingteams.
The cars did have nothing in common with roadcars. Was a tubeframe with a carbon shell.
At least there where 6 different brands and 20 cars again.
The DTM GT3 cars have a bit more horsepower than the regular GT3 cars.

I don't say it was working or there was a better solution (but a merge with the Super GT with brands of both series in both championships would have been cool), I just say I'm sad to see some fantastic over the top cars with fantastic sound replaced by some GT3 cars we see everywhere (as great as they are). DTM is now just another of those numerous GT3 series.

I'm not a Ferrari fan but glad to see it added.

Also glad that I had a chance to travel to Germany a few yrs back and caught the season opener of the last yr it was all German vehicles.
A shame to see DTM basically become another Gt3 series.

Mini Cooper S
When this game launched 20 so yrs ago (sarcasm)
It had, at that time a modern Mini Cooper S available in a hot lap competition....not sure why it never made it to the title?
As it was one of my favorite cars to race online in Race07

Very happy that Ferrari is coming. I won't say anything else because you said I shouldn't.
I didn't actually say that, but you read between the lines! LOL

And it wasn't directed at you personally, more a general conclusion.

Elated use of profanity!

That's what I'm talking about!

(Although I said nothing about the topic.)

Will there be more cars from Ferrari outside of the DTM Pack?

Just the other day I said to myself, "Self, I love RR but what would really put it back on the map is some licensed Ferrari cars for DTM, retro GT, maybe a 333,, etc ..."
Okay, I didn't say it out loud and I didn't say etc. but I did think what a huge scoop it would be. So I am proud to say that my power of positive thinking has convinced Ferrari. You're welcome ;)
 :D

If DTM stayed as what it was then I'd be excited (although Ferrari wouldn't have taken part in that anyway) , but it's just another GT3 series now, hence my lack of excitement.

I do get other peoples excitement though - Ferrari has yet to appear in R3E, but for me it's neither here nor there. I'm into R3E for the touring cars and the original format DTM - everything else I can get elsewhere.

Having Ferrari included, will be a game changer fro me. I rarely play, but this will bring me back.
