In exceptional news for endurance motorsports, Porsche have confirmed a multi-year partnership with American powerhouse outfit Team Penske - starting from the 2023 racing season.

In another incredibly exciting piece of news for the new LMDh top level endurance category, Penske and Porsche are set to work together for a new assault on the top level of sportscar racing - with a works outfit in the works and the potential for an expansive customer racing program to boot - significantly bolstering what is already set to be an epic collection of machinery in both WEC and the American IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

"We are delighted that we were able to get Team Penske to form this partnership. For the first time in the history of Porsche Motorsport, our company will have a global team competing in the world's two largest endurance series. To this end, we will be setting up team bases on both sides of the Atlantic. This will enable us to create the optimal structures we will need to take overall victories at Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring, for example."

The deal is another major milestone for the new regulations, which kicked off with just factory efforts for Toyota and a 'grandfathered' LMP1 from Alpine in attendance at Spa-Francorchamps at the weekend - as a Porsche / Penske tie-up is set to join confirmed entries from the likes of Ferrari, ByKolles, Audi and Peugeot, amongst several other rumoured potentially interested manufacturers.

The collaboration between Porsche and Team Penske will see the return of a potent collaboration between the two famous brands - especially with Penske still looking to add an overall Le Mans win to what is already an enviable collection of silverware for the IndyCar, Nascar and Sportscar racing legends.
