Support for SF1000 Wheel and DLSS Support Coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione

ACC Adds SF1000 Support 01.jpg
Thrustmaster's feature-rich SF1000 wheel will soon be officially supported by Assetto Corsa Competizione, and a video released by NVIDIA shows that DLSS support is also coming.

Developer Kunos Simulazioni has been somewhat quiet with their plans for Assetto Corsa Competizione since their press release in August, which confirmed to fans of the SRO GT3/GT4 simulator that the title would be ported to Gen 9 consoles. But evidently some development resources are still tasked to ACC on PC.

Thrustmaster's SF1000 wheel, which is a replica of the wheel used in the 2020 Ferrari F1 car, will be supported in ACC. This means some of the telemetry shown in the HUD in ACC can now be displayed on the large centre screen of the TM SF1000 wheel, and the many buttons and knobs can be properly configured to adjust vehicle settings. This is an add-on wheel, and is compatible with Thrustmaster TS-XW, T-GT, T300, TX and TS-PC wheelbases.

Another piece of news pertaining to ACC is that DLSS will be coming to the title. NVIDIA shared a video showing the differences in performance utilizing their DLSS system. Note that this is not yet available to players, as Kunos will need to publish an update to the game to implement DLSS support from their end.

No confirmation yet on when either will be implemented for ACC, but be sure to check back to RD often for updates. Are you excited for either of these? Let us know in the comments below.

I'm looking for AMD Fidelityfx Super Resolution support be added, too.

It's been modded into AC and works great for me.

As a personal note, they can keep DLSS. It is meant to be a bridge to smooth frame rates with less powerful cards. It doesn't work well in every game and I am afraid it might screw up ACC's already challenging video.

I am fortunate enough to have donated a kidney to buy a RTX 3080ti. I did my own unscientific testing, using my RTX 2080ti vs RTX 3080ti in ACC and this is what I got with everything maxed out on a 38 inch, 3860x1600 LG monitor, 9900k, 32gb of RAM, 1tb SSD drive

1 car in the dry: 2080ti 82fps 3080ti 117fps
20 cars in the dry: 2080ti 71fps 3080ti 104fps
1 car in a downpour: 2080ti 75 fps 3080ti 120fps
20 cars in a downpour: 2080ti 65fps 3080ti 90fps

There was no need to have DLSS at any point.

Just a whining point with me, but it really pisses me that every time a new gpu comes out, the so-called "youtube tester" only uses F1 racing games in their test. I should just start a channel to test the new gpus with all of the racing titles so we can have information on what we do. Ok, I am done with the rant.

I sure wish they would fix the dead steering that Logitech users experience. This game is unplayable for me using a G27 wheel, the graphics are already great imo. My ACC sits idle while I play all my other racing games that have proper force feedback. I'm so disappointed to have wasted my money on this game.

What the hell man? I have a G27 and the FFB is probably the best on ACC. What problem do you have?

So you don't run VR clearly.

Currently my isn't enough for ACC in VR with a high resolution headset (like the current reference headset: G2), with many many tweaking I got it running OK (even with the brand new Adler Lake i7 CPU ! ) now but the resolution is still not high enought. DLSS is an ABSOLUTE MUST for ACC so I'm very happy with this!

Now let's hope that the devs get clear about their release date because everybody is waiting except you :)

Clearly.

I don't think any tweaking is going to make VR in ACC better. ACC wasn't built for VR. I tried it with a HP Reverb. Monitors were better for me.

With default settings and no extreme tweaking and an regular CPU it simply doesn't run in VR. Even with my 3080TI and 9700K@5ghz it didn't run good enough. Since I bought the Adler Lake i7, it runs good enough! So it all depends on your setup and your budget. With an 2080ti it's indeed impossible to run ACC at proper settings in VR and then monitors will indeed be better; simply because it's to demanding, but ONLY for that reason, because when you get it running in VR with a good headset like the G2 with high enough resolution/pixel density/90fps fixed, it's an experience that you can impossibly achieve with monitors, not with triples not with a 100 inch screen; only VR give that experience.

So your post even explains more how much DLSS is an absolute must for ACC since also you wasn't able to get it running with an good enough experience in VR. So this game needs all the improvements that it can get, so I'm glad that Kunos understood this better then you just did. ;)

Those tests weren't in VR with everything turned up to 11 though were they

I'm also managed to bag a 3080ti, and when running it with my 10850k I have to tweak the engine ini and seriously downgrade graphics options for hotlapping to be playable at 90fps in VR

If DLSS will allow some of that eye candy to return in VR then it'd be very welcome

DLSS may solve low fps issues, but it won't solve what I saw in VR on ACC as colors that basically sucked. Kunos doesn't understand this better than I. They are doing what most vendors do when Godzilla comes knocking, "yes we will include it because you can add us to your list of titles and we might make more money"

Don't believe the hype. ;)

No they weren't. I had given up on VR before I even bought the 38 inch monitor or the 3080ti. I am not a proponent of downgrading the graphics in a game to run it at decent fps. I know that people can't always afford to buy hardware to max out the games they like, so I feel fortunate that the cost hardware to support my games never is a consideration.

Wow that is the most insane argument to win an discussion that I've ever heared. I'm even quite shocked by it since you know that I was right. You think that Kunos solely develops DLSS because they are greedy bastards that are only after money? You don't believe that they genuinely try to improve the performance of this title?

Anyway, I will stop discussing this with you since... “Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”

I've been using sf1000 with working display for 2 months thanks to "telemetry tool" for PC , just thought other might like to know so they can use it also ✌

DLSS will be interesting, it works really well in a lot of games but only seen it in one other "Sim" title myself and that was a demo version of F1 2021. It seemed to cause some weird visual effects on the back of the cars you were following most notably around the tyres. Didn't buy the full game so don't know whether that was just a demo related oddity. That video looks good though so fingers crossed
That's ghosting caused by DLSS. Hopefully 2.3 will remedy that issue as it is quite distracting.

DLSS finally coming to ACC! This is fantastic news. This so demanding tough cookie will give us at least 20+ more FPS while racing at the same graphics quality!

Nice, but more interested in DLSS for VR in the proper Assetto Corsa with production cars and mods!
