RaceRoom Releases A 1,400 Horsepower Electric Mustang

RaceRoom Racing Experience has released a new car in the form of the Ford Mustang Mach E 1400.

Sector 3 Studios has been hard at work bringing new cars and tracks to RaceRoom Racing Experience. Recently they’ve added the Circuit Paul Armagnac and the resplendent Mercedes AMG GT4 2020 to the sim, and they’ve teased the release of Assen circuit.

But today’s release came as a surprise to most in the sim racing community. The Ford Mustang Mach E 1400 was added to the RaceRoom Store. This is a one-off track and drift car designed by Ford Performance and RTR. And there’s a twist. The 1,400-horsepower car is all-electric. It’s a one-off project, and the car has only been driven by a select few drivers.

The car houses seven electric motors and a 56.8-kilowatt-hour battery made up of nickel manganese cobalt pouch cells. The aero fit-out includes a massive rear wing and large canards fitted to the front of the car. The combined efforts of the aero pieces and the motors propelling the car to 160 miles per hour produces roughly 2,300 pounds of downforce.

In sim, the has many of the characteristics we’ve come to expect from an electric performance car. The instantly available torque produces staggering acceleration, but the weight of the batteries ultimately limits its cornering possibilities. This is less of an issue for the Mach E 1400 given that the car was never touted to be a lap record breaking machine, but rather a fun toy capable of impressive feats in the hands of someone like Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Sector 3 has done a great job translating that level of fun into RaceRoom. It won’t fit into any race series, and the all-electric speed title in RaceRoom will remain with the Volkswagen ID. R, but for those looking for a fun escape this could be a good option. Given the limited battery life of the car, the best way to enjoy the car may be in Time Trial mode which removes fuel consumption for the session.

The Ford Mustang Mach E 1400 is now for sale through the RaceRoom Store. If you’ve tried this car or have any thoughts related to it, share them in the comments below.

Electric cars are nothing but one of the biggest tax scams of all time, probably only second to 'space exploration'. The fact it’s taking so long for the masses to catch on to this obviousness really shows people will believe anything presented by mass media and arguments of authority.

To whom is the Ford Mach-E meant to appeal to? If they only had the decency to not dig up old names and plaster them all over these abominations.
If you every get a chance to drive one you may like it. 0-60 mph in 3.5 sec is nothing to sneeze at. I would love to own one.

I'm sorry but you're not allowed to say bad things about a single irrelevant about to be underused sim racing car by account of the UN Antifa LGBTQ+ council. Please hand in your coping points.

I saw the road going version parked down the street. Thought "why did someone slap a mustang logo on an SUV/crossover thingy?". It was very, very, very confusing. I'm still confused.

I remain confused.

I.. reconfused.
Would you be able to instantly tell it apart from any other car on the road, like you can with the first generation Ford Mustang, if you removed the badge? That's something to think about.

Aside from the sound thing with electric cars, I also find it very distracting not having to shift.
I'll definitely test this out at some point just to see what it's like

Tested, this car is definitelly not for me

Awful sound and difficult to steer and difficult to keep speed in slow curves, on-off throttle, no feel to the track, car feels too heavy, the worst mod ever

It's the first and only E-car that ever impressed me:

Maybe it pushes me back to RaceRoom... hope other sims also get this car.

It's a car that can pull a smile on it's driver's face... not like, for example, the last Ferrari F1 driven by Monsieur Prost :whistling:

Cheers!

Ford Motor Company could have saved millions of dollars spent on focus groups, marketing professors and expensive industry consultants by simply coming here to Race Department!

Well, they did sell a Pinto chassis MustangII in the late 70's.

As an owner of every Tesla Performance cars since 2011, you have no idea about how powerful those cars are.... that's a ton of SOUL (in real life). For Sim Racing, I agree, EVs don't have the same feeling, but we'll have to adjust to it otherwise, there won't a planet left to drive any cars within a few decades.
Cars with soul isn’t just about power. The design, the handling, the company pedigree and so on has a major role. Tesla is just as boring with ugly exterior with an interior that has no ergonomic and lazy with one touch screen for the cheaper cars. Not to mention the amount of controversies with autopilot, questionable build quality with this company.

vast majority of EVs are god damn ugly with no personality because they all has to be designed to be a boring blob for efficient range. That Ford suv just took it further by taking the iconic mustang name and put it in another ugly suv.

I like that raceroom is spending time to develop EV drivetrain. The IDR is fun but the cupra EV just down right horrible to drive due to how heavy is it. Sure the Mach e is ridiculously fast, I hate how it drives in the game because how heavy is it. If the cars in the future are going to turn like a land whale, lack of sensible interior design with all tactility removed and look like an appliance or iPad on wheels, I won’t be interested in cars anymore. This year Munich auto show was a pretty big disappointment, even the successor of the E class has to look like **** with no ergonomics in the interior.

Hahah, I'm better cause more powar.... Despite it probably not lasting more than a lap or two (remember tesla cup)
Anyone who was born in the 80s knows of how shitty electric RC cars were compared to gas.

Amen to this. And the instant torque of electric motors is MADE for some applications like rally. Also, over time, the world will figure out how to tune and have fun with EVs just like we did with ICE cars, but it'll just take a while.

One thing that's true about sims... there's little environmental impact, so we should at least always enjoy our roaring gas-guzzlers virtually! Plus sims largely recreate historic or current popular series/cars... so there'll need to be popular EV racing before EV cars in sims is popular IMO.
