Brands Hatch Announced for rFactor 2

One classic British track had already been announced by Studio 397, another followed suit very soon: After Donington Park was confirmed, the upcoming rFactor 2 content drop scheduled will also feature Brands Hatch. Both circuits are set to be available in May – and they will likely not be the only tracks to come to the sim.

Formula 1 raced 14 times at the classic English track between 1964 and 1986, twice for the European Grand Prix. The World Sportscar Championship and even the Champ Car series staged races at Brands – there is barely any series on two or four wheels that has not been there at all.

Just like in Donington’s case, a community-made version of the track is available in the Steam Workshop, which is likely going to be replaced by the brand-new laser scanned version. Both the full layout and the shorter Indy variant will be part of the content drop.

Further content announcements will be coming before the release in May, according to Studio 397. This week, another piece of content is expected to be revealed – a candidate would be Oulton Park, which would fit perfectly with the tracks that have been announced so far.

If this was to be part of a DLC pack at a "reasonable" price, I would be interested in purchasing.

Sorry yes Croft DLC would be great
Just saying not many give it a thought they don't have mods in sims anymore
One reason rF2 is better then other current sims ...imo of course

Anyway the first remark was directed at TeddyBearx who you laughed at for liking rF2 above all others

??? back at ya

never heard of MSG before , at least not to a point I would remember the name

it's funny and alarming to see all the licenses they have, but only ever releasing nascar games and kart craft

almost feels like another EA with licensing where they hope to own the licenses so that everyone else who wants to do game from that genre needs to pay them big bucks for no work what so ever :/

too bad, official BTCC / FIA WEC / 24h Lemans would be amazing

Brands Hatch is a great track, but it looks way better/more alive/complete/more modern in AMS2 and ACC.

I thought would be 1 track 3 cars, so much for thought

I be happy paying same as other track Pack which is $36.50AU for 4 tracks

AMS2 is $56.95AU for 6 tracks

Both sound reasonable to me

So maybe 4 track pack I would have to pick Cadwell and Oulton :coffee:
no wait Knockhill and Snetterton
no wait Croft and Thruxton

Of course this laser scanned track is already out of date before it's even been released, big sections of BH were very recently repaved!

Yes it is a shame that modding seems to be on the way out, there is a lot of overlap amongst the sims with multiple tracks made by the Devs, that's why I reckon something like croft would be nice as none of the Devs have done it.
I do have a love hate relationship with rF2 and have not found myself on it much for a few years. It has been around forever but is still lacking in so many areas to make it complete or fully featured, some of those things might be sugar on top things but it does have stiff competition so it does need to rise up to become more popular.
The last update a week and a bit ago was very impressive though, keep that up for a couple of years and it could well be in a good place.
Bit concerned about their owners though, if you believe everything being written then it sounds like MSG are in some trouble.
And about mods; a few years back when I was discussing mods in a forum where the Sim had mods, a lunatic member was having a go at me for discussing mods I would like to download and he was saying he would report me to some otherworldly power for breach of copyright, wtf. It takes all types in this crazy world.

As I read somewhere before: seems that they are recycling the tracks from cancelled BTCC game.

I read on this forum that apparently S397 took AI as a priority, if I see in the comments that it got better, I will be very happy to buy these recent DLC. Hopefully even if MSG goes under eventually, rFactor 2 will not suffer from it. As much as I am in a love and hate relationship with it and criticize it more often than not (well AI mostly), it would be a shame.

I hope they put some effort in that WEC game as well. Would love to see that transferred back in to RF2 now that my hopes for a WEC game by MSG are slowly fading away.

I will wait for a bundle. No way on day1. I got the feeling they sell the fresh DLC seperately to make a few bucks more and then bundle the new stuff a week later.
"Q1 Content" was bundled from day 1: Daytona and 3 cars for €16,80.
Q2 Content should be marketed within the same principle.

My home circuit (almost) another great track to the title....fix those AI issues and I'll have no reason not to reinstall.
Hope the other MotorSport Vision tracks follow as well, that'd be cool.
The AI has received major improvements on the Release Candidate (Beta) which allows for multiclass racing to work (inlay bug is mostly eliminated) and for the AI to properly use tyres depending on changing conditions.
Also, the AI behaves really well if bother making some tweaks on the player.json file (a 5 min job).
