Automobilista 2 | Update 1.1.4.5 Now Available

Reiza Studios have deployed their latest update to the Automobilista 2 racing simulation - adding a complementary update following on from the mid-April build release.
  • New update now available.
  • Various physics fixes and improvements.
  • Updated driver and suit liveries.
The latest build update for Automobilista 2 from Brazilian development team Reiza Studios follows hot on the heels of the latest major 1.1.40 April release, and as can be expected with such a closely compacted update schedule this new build is mostly aimed at addressing some of the more minor areas of the title, rather than the usual substantial list of major content releases and game improvements.

That said, 1.1.4.5 does come packed with some welcome tweaks and updates to the title, not least of which is further evidence of the ongoing quest to improve the physics and handling characteristics of certain vehicles - with attention having been paid in this new release to content from a wide range of categories within the title.

Other notable changes as part of this latest release include the ability to allow players using Logitech G923 hardware to disable Trueforce functionality - with a user guide on how to go about this option included at the foot of this article.

After every update/hotfix this game feels to me more and more like re-packed PC2. FFB is all over the place. It’s awesome on some cars, crap on 90% of game content. I’ve tried recommended Fanatec settings, custom FFB files from Reiza forums... everything feels like miles behind FFB of rF2, ACC/AC. If anyone has some good setting for recommendation I would like to try it. Currently, I’m on a verge to delete AMS2 forever from my PC. Btw. I’m using CSL elite base with LC pedals.

The AMS2 fanboys are zealots in their defence of the game and love-in with Reiza, but how does that square with Reiza having to correct the game with large, comprehensive updates so often?
The studio is basically admitting every time that the previous iteration was sub-standard... and the one before that, and the one before that... I thought they said the game was great last month, six months ago etc - but here's Reiza mending the physics FFB again, ad infinitum. By definition, it's broken.
Only to put your comment into perspective: which is your sim of choice? It must be a perfect sim but I'm affraid i've never heard about it, because every current sim get updated every now and then, even in the physics and FFB department. That means it can't be ACC, iRacing, Raceroom not even rF2 which also gets some fine tuning occasionally (BoP changes are quite frequent) so I'm honestly lost what else can be your perfect, never-to-be-updated racing sim. Please, enlighten us!

Had some great races last night in AMS2, its edging my AC playtime currently.

I personally am really enjoying it and think its getting better and better with the work they are putting in.

I only drive about 3 cars though in the sim and all feel great.

Hurry up on the custom champs though :)

@mmmarac " Currently, I’m on a verge to delete AMS2 forever from my PC" have you deleted the Documents folder and reset everything? this defo helps after various updates.

Yep they just dropped that good looking progress announcement today. I'm looking forward to the content. Although IMHO they need to prioritize the multiplayer rating system above other things but what they did show also looks pretty awesome.

I'm fully on board with you. This is the one thing that is preventing me from recommending the game more. Q3 and Q4 is less than ideal, but then again, I have no idea of how their timeline is working.

Have you tried deleting your My Documents folder? I don't own a CSL elite but honestly that sounds very wrong.

I absolutely love AMS2 but aside from all of us having different tastes, I do believe there is an underlying problem with how it operates on different setups/systems and how it feel in VR vs flat screen.

It's hard to believe that for some people, like me, it's absolutely the best driving feel out of any sim BY FAR and to some others, like in your case, it's totally wrong.

Anyway, I hope you don't give up and find some settings that work for you, cause the game has so many amazing things to offer that it would be a shame for you to miss out.

Once again I will criticize Reiza but I admit his effort to improve this game, weird physics, stockcar 2020 and 2021 bad, simple details like animation on the windshield with horrible rain, the push light on stockcar until today after 1 year does not exist, very generic physics in cars, I start to think that it was the biggest mistake to use this engine, because it is amazing how AMS1 is more fun than this AMS2 ...

I gave up, just wish I could still refund.
Me too. It was the most expensive title I ever bought and it's not even installed at the moment just because I wasn't having fun twitching my car for all over the track while in the other hand, AMS1 handles perfectly fine. Don't know if I'm ever gonna reinstall it again.

What ever it is, that might not make you enjoy the driving dynamics (which is totally fine and genuinely understandable), it's not the engine.

Most parts of the Madness system are similar to AMS1, except a more elaborate driveline and tires. Next weekend, there will be a Q&A by the Studio and answered by Renato himself. If you have questions, what exactly makes the cars drive so differently to AMS1, when this guy at RD says, most parts of the Madness system are similar, feel free to ask, maybe it will be adressed!

This myth of the "physics of Madness=broken" without ever delivering hard proof is a really frustrating stigma and unfair assessment. No physics engine of this century for racing simulations is totally broken, nor totally spot on and it's really a quite exhausting task to always read about it again in this manner.

Anyway, happy racing! :)

As mentioned above, during the initial phase they recommended to delete your documents folder a lot to avoid FFB issues when there were updates to it, so if you haven't done that yet since picking the game up please do delete and start from fresh. These are my settings for the CSL which I'm very satisfied with:

Also with regards to the game itself, there's way to much exaggerated negativity surrounding AMS2 since it was released which I find unjustified personally . They have updated the FFB/Physics/Sounds and Graphics a lot already and by now it has turned into a very good all round sim featuring original content you can't get anywhere else in this shape or form. It's also the best VR experience hands down.

Yes this feature or that feature needs to be implemented still but Rome wasn't build in a day and these will surely still arrive sooner or later. I can't wrap my head around people wishing they could have a refund with the game being as good as it is already (and far from complete still). For example I hear criticism about MP but it carried over PC2's excellent system to set up lobbies on the go without the need for a dedi server, it's just that people are still too skeptical to actually dive in and play online together, rather than a lack of features there like a rating system IMO.

And how is this any different to any other Sim? There are always the diehards that defend to the hilt and talk down other sims . There we as always a long term plan to improve and build upon AMS2.
