Reiza Studios have released their Automobilista 2 December Development Update. In it, you can read all about what is coming up for the racing sim. We'll briefly go over the main points here.

Updates on Upcoming DLC

6 packs of DLC have been announced to still release for the 2020-2022 season pass. Their release dates have been pushed as seen below.
  • Supercars Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Brazilian Racing Legends Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Historic Track Pack Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Nürburgring Historic 1971 - January 2023

Supercars Pt1 DLC Overview

The Supercars Pt1 DLC will include the road-going versions of 3 modern supercars.
  • Corvette C8 Z06
  • McLaren Senna
  • Brabham BT62
Especially the Brabham is intriguing to me, even though those cars can presumably only competitively be driven in one-make races.

Brabham BT53 BMW I4 Turbo.jpg

Brazilian Racing Legends DLC Overview

Brazilian Racing Legends will include several cars in which Brazilian racers had some fortune.
  • Brabham BT49 Cosworth V8
  • Brabham BT52 BMW I4 Turbo
  • Lotus 98T Renault V6 Turbo
  • McLaren MP4/4 Honda V6 Turbo
  • McLaren MP4/5B Honda V10
  • McLaren MP4/6 Honda V12
This pack includes exclusively open-wheelers, so fans of those may rejoice!

Historic Track Pack Pt 1 DLC Overview

Some classic race tracks will be making their way to AMS2 this month still.
  • Cascais 1988
  • Jerez 1988
  • Bathurst 1983
We'll cover the other DLC once they get to release.

Nissan R89C Group C.jpg

AMS 2 Welcomes Nissan into its Family

Furthermore, Nissan will be making its debut in AMS2 soon. The following cars will be available.
  • Nissan R89C Group C
  • Nissan R390 GT1
  • 2017 Nissan GT-R GT3
The inclusion of Nissan in AMS2 is one that was severely missed. However, this has now been reverted with license agreements finally coming around!

Updates on Further Game Developments

Not only the content received some attention in this December Update.
Here's a list of things Reiza Studios has been working on:
  • Adjust Pit Speed Limit - users will be able to adjust that based on their own preferences, between 60 and 100 km/h.
  • Motorsport Presets - Don't worry, this one got nothing to do with another company named Motorsport. This setting is to select race rule presets based on several IRL series.
  • Physics - The flood of classic content apparently requires some physics adjustments that need to be worked into AMS2's code.
  • Force Feedback - This also needs adjustment to work with the classic content.
  • New Cockpit Display Functionalities - Several inclusions like TC and ABS being visible on the dashboard.
  • AI Developments - New cars and tracks cannot come without adjustments to AI.
Now, there are also plans for other things to edit. Here's a list of the todo's on Reizas agenda:
  • Multiplayer - This will receive some work, apparently Reiza have found out much stuff about that and are confident they can make improvements in 2023.
  • Content - A new DLC has been teased, the "Adrenaline Pack DLC" will be worked on, featuring dirt oval and rallycross racing.
  • Some sort of Endurance Racing content. Will we get yet another sim racing competitor in the race for WEC/IMSA racing?
  • Modding Support - Or at least making modding and installing mods easier. Make sure to keep an eye out on the AMS2 Modding Database here on RD for current and future community generated content.
  • Career Mode is also apparently being worked on with a targeted 2023 release.
This concludes the comprehensive list of updates from this December blog post.

Of course, this is only a roundup. You can read the full thing in all its glory here.

What do you think of this massive list? Looking forward to what AMS2 has in stock? Let us know in the comments down below!

Wow. Your initial response of one paragraph was fine.

Honestly. No need for all that carry on.

I'd state I disagree with you that would probably bring on another 10 000 words.

Nah. What other way to prove to a doubter like yourself who basically passively said I was lying You dont get to take the high ground, fine you disagree with me, but without trying to ruin your fun, its ok to like AMS2, but I know whats what. I am telling you however in the next bit that dude - even in 1992 they had cars that move around a track better than AMS2, geoff crammonds f1 grand prix. This stuff is not 'difficult'. The proof is in the pudding.

- And also what makes the job hard is the game engine and the brand new tire model they have never worked with before

- And then putting that and 250 people at once being wrong (you are in the 250) versus 16,000 people at once being wrong after CSP, 10 years of dev work and oodles of mods and tire updates, nah, I dont see how I even approach being wrong about this.

I am not even sure you've seen a tire scuff across the road like I have, been on a fast 2 motorbike and had to jam on the breaks or go knee down, or a 4 wheeler with exceptional brakes (breaks in AMS2 often feel like wood until you do stuff to the ducts etc), I know for a fact just by pure observation alone reiza are having a lot of difficulty with this title, and I wish them the best, but dont claim I am a dunce when its taking this long to explain all your errors. Let alone their work process which is going to be another couple of years easily before AMS2 gets anywhere near AMS2 if its even possible at this point.

If you ever care to look at AC again, its only you missing out, you will see the ffb and the way the cars move convey way more than AMS2 is, thats for sure, but its not fair, only a few years to 10 of dev work. gees/You would not even know how sympathetic I am to that or anything, so chill out yourself.

- its also not 250 ppl v 16,000 at once, its also something like 300 dollars or so versus 20.

Mate - YOU need to wake up. It can do better. Thats my point but its going to take some time to even approach AC.

----crushed by deluded condescending arrogant wall of text-----

Are you in some sort of rehab clinic by any chance?
lol it seems you were I detect the involvement of your ego rather than the facts at hand. You were indeed by your own admission too, no use using the mirror principle here, I dont even drink alcohol much. My country doesn't have a major drug problem either. Your words dont carry any weight any way. Assetto Corsa is a top 100 game. AMS2 is not. In fact it was only last month it was doing 16,000 at a time - this is more than fallout4 and skyrim is at the moment, and at 11-16,000 at a time.... makes it a top 50 game. Did you miss the memo? Are you - I dont know - somehow related or even steel-reserve? Or maybe some other worker on the game. If that is not true then disregard that so they can focus on the title. While you are here I have a request - do better in any event with all you touch and save mean, pointless words for someone in your actual life who can set you straight in person.

deluded - tried to tell me ams2 is better than ac

arrogant - wont accept or adjust over-inflated sense of self, suggesting in additional some [internet induced?] narcissistic tendencies

argumentative - suggests an immaturity if its not delusion. At best a naiveté.

wall of text - this is how far down the rabbit hole you went before I turned up, text is the only form of communication there is on this board and for good reason.

4. I bet this is just the tip of the iceberg with you. edit but its time to put this behind you, AC is not simplistic and if it is, then it paints AMS2 in an even worse light - so I think you will find I was trying to throw you a bone rather than pan you. But now I frankly dont care. lol

well, If your not in rehab I can't see any reasonable excuse for that level of idiocy.

At least the last response was less than 439 words. Less is better.

(wait, I think it grew)

Lmao, it continues to expand,Its now 321 words.

Yeah..... lets just say you have all the credibility of a nobody. And I am sorry you are an angry person, forget the length - because I am not wasting any time on you, take it to mean this is how much was required . I don't even like conversing with you even in this form - you probably are all those things, but you fall into the same trap as all the others, you take it personally for some reason. And I will never fathom why.

AMS2 is not even in the top 1000 - how you get spoken about in the same sentence is a perplexing matter itself.

2019 - "AMS is awesome! Next level!

2023 "AmS2 is awesome! Wow!"

Reality: AMS2 is not - all along. The patch was very good, but its done little to move the needle edit: they even said themselves it will be some time. However, since you agreed with the precepts then you are lumped within all the other clueless people. Your opinion on AC at this point which was tenuous to start with has fallen further behind.

And also, if you want to keep messaging just leave the sooking at the door. Only facts past this point please. By sheer probability alone I could - to borrow an anology from yourself - be talking, literally to someone who's mother drives them around most of the time. Your time here spent trying to convince me is not only a longshot - its almost insane levels of commitment to how clever you think you are, but are not.

If you are someone who thought AMS2 was good in 2019/20/21/22/23, then you have no business even telling me the sky is blue, let alone that AC is inferior.

its been funny but please the gig is up. Theres a ginormous difference between The RSS Nisumo on Brands hatch in AC versus anything in AMS2 and I wish that were different but I wont be putting a feather in the ground and pretending its a chicken.

edit: and its not due to the patch, which was good - its a deep seated situation with the game engine and anything else. AC was made specifically to do car games, whereas the engine for AMS2 was not. Its a 3d arcade engine, essentially. So its going to take a long time to come up well, and a lot of the detail in AMS2 cars was stripped out, and its more of a direct port of project cars 2 than it is a new game.

You can 'lmfao' all you like, its not going to change much. Just have to get in line like everyone else hoping it comes up trumps one day.

And look brazil is in a precarious position just like pakistan is at the moment and numerous other countrys. Its not a given these guys will have a long time to do the title. Theres problems in Peru and heaps of other things.

There is no guarantee this title is completable and the advice given once on their forums to pump out as many products as possible in that time which I concurred with, is apt, the central cohesion of these places is not overly good, and over the globe govt is fragmenting, not in USA and its closer anglo and westmost euro allies, but the rest those anglo nations are hanging out to dry especially since 2014; you see it now in the news - each of the us/uk and aus are taking turns at 'taking the brunt' of all their enemy's, which is actually more funny than you are. So I always knew the title had a few years to get it good, but there can be no denying if you thought the title was going to hit 100%, you might be mistaken. But I do cross my fingers for them.

This is a well worn issue and is no secret. Its got all the project 2 cars they could get licences for. All the tracks they could too. Well if you followed it closely you would understand theres more of that game in there than they would like. I am not making fun of them, its not easy to make such a diverse game but go ask them: they had a few hiccups they did not foresee. In fact some of the basis for many of the cars was project cars 2

The actual project was only possible because of project cars 2, and includes some members of the team for content and engine bug fixing, but theres little literature on how to actually use the engine.

Its not difficult to appreciate. What was most difficult for many people was embracing that fact rather shying away from it, for obvious reasons.

I am not making fun of them
You clearly are with that statement. It's absolute nonsense to say that AMS2 is "more of a direct port of project cars 2 than it is a new game". I hate PC2 with a passion(cannot stand the way it drives, never liked it, yes I bought it) and AMS2 is my favorite sim, they cannot even be compared in terms of driving behaviour.

You're just an AC fanboy. And I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here with your huge lines of text filled with the same repeated content.

You made your point, we don't agree: move on.

Look man I am not arguing out of preference, I am arguing out of the blinding obvious and statements of fact over time. Project cars 2 also has a higher peak than AMS2 on any given day. So it definitely has its fans. You are the one putting a negative connotation on it!

No we don't agree, but no need to pretend I am lying. They did get some aspects of AMS1 with tracks and all the rest like the force feedback (I own AMS1 as well btw along with project cars 2) - BUT the lionshare of the title is taken from, and its -what success it has - is drawn from project cars 2.

You can go now lol. But remember: we're living in a world where Euro Truck simulator is getting 25k or something easy each and every day and AMS2 is getting less than or near to sometimes project cars 2.

A world where AC is still well above it, but the patch was one of the best ones done. Don't change that though. Just maybe focus on what I said, if you want to take the blinkers off look at RSS Nisumo in AC, as one example. AC is not a simple game or even simple menu system; may be think better of it, because its kicking goals where it counts, and its also a 100m dollar game at this point. lol are you saying 100m dollars worth of 'great' is somehow lousy?

AMS2 aspires to be a good game. Its different. You might want to ask the team at Reiza why they think a car game has to be super complex if its slowing down development, and worse off.

Mario kart is played more then AC. Does that say anything? It tells me as much as your comparisons. Absolute nonsense what you're writing here.

PC2 and AMS2 share the same engine and that's about it. ACC shares the same engine as hunderds of other Unreal Engine games. This doesn't mean that ACC drives as Xenon Racer. You're clearly confused.

Again: You made your point, we don't agree AT ALL: move on.

I see brevity still isn't your strong point and you've dragged the discussion way off topic.
I'm sure you could debate the merits of AC vs AMS2 at even greater length but please don't.

Here we go again. You think u know. Right. I want to point out the Nisumo is actually the Nissan gt1R390

Again I dont want to big note myself, but I am ahead of curve on this. This was as succinct as I could make it. The problem is AMS2 included this car in their patch. I rest my case. edit: as to the other stuff its in direct correlation regarding the state of modern day patching tecnniques we all have to suffer through development work now - so my musings about the economy - and everything I ever said on these things come, true, champ - yuh, so it was more pertinent than this discussion could possibly suggest, relates to the ability of the company which is no longer 100% basically (we know this) to bring about enough patches in order to out-do AC, which is, by their own standards on the matter - the goal they are and the AMS2 fans, striving for more than anything else. You seem to be relatively old so your tax dollars are probably not even contributing to things going on in the world - mine are, however. Now, please...

Ever had that sensation where you walk into a room, and it feels odd, so you go back to where you came from but now that feels odd as well, and then everything feels odd, and you wonder if you will feel that way for the rest of your life, but then you get distracted by something shiny and forget whatever it was that you were thinking about...

Thats this thread over the last couple of pages. Just freakin odd for no damn reason that makes any sense.

This is not my issue, its yours and the other guys. Also that is a strawman argument you are making, that is not what I am saying or arguing. You have misrepresented my point. Further, my point was correct - not just by me - but by literally everyone.

This is something you can't make right [AMS2 being excellent, etc] by words alone to get some kind of win. You have not affected the relative appreciation of these things simply by saying it.

The two cars exist in both games, you are free to go do that - which is a fair point on my part. This patch was only so-good, so we had 10 pages of fluff and people with little idea, then a few posts of mine which understood.

So this is how far you and AMS2 have fallen? Trying to convince me of what I know and everyone else knows is different? I am one person among the current 144-400 people who play this daily.

Yeah man. You must be having it right now. You are completely disassociated from what happened in the discussion.

You said AC was simple and bad. I then explained and showed how it wasn't. Then you resorted to insults even as I showed you a direct comparison. Nothings changed. Seems to me you got owned.

Just try to have a nice day. Im not really fussed so dont worry about it
