Automobilista 2 | 'Biggest Update Yet' Coming Soon

Automobilista 2 August 2022 Update 01.jpg
Reiza Studios has released their August development update for Automobilista 2 and shared some exciting plans for upcoming content and physics updates.

The newly released Automobilista 2 August, 2022 development update has brought some exciting news for players.

Originally scheduled for release at the end of July, the significant 1.4 game update is now scheduled for release at the end of August.

The 1.4 update seems to be intended as a baseline for physics in the title to allow Reiza to more easily publish future content, user interface features and gameplay modes.

Outside of the new baseline for AMS2, August will also see the sim receive some interesting new content, including the highly anticipated Racin´ USA Pt3 DLC. The third installment of this DLC will include a 2022 edition of Formula USA (Indycar), plus oval configurations of cars and tracks.

The Mercedes AMG GT4 will also be added to the title as free content, along with the Ginetta G55 GT3. The Ginetta is intended to be raced against the Ultima GTR in a new GT Open class, rather than against other GT3s in the title.

Reiza is also bringing significant improvements to Automobilista 2's mechanical damage modeling, which should bring enhanced realism thanks to the addition of common real-world issues like misfires and coolant leaks. Reiza notes that this can be disabled by players looking for a simpler racing experience.

You can read the full August, 2022 development update on Automobilista 2's Steam page. Are you looking forward to these updates? Is there new content you're specifically waiting to try? Let us know in the comments below.

all the settings in camera movement were set to 0 or NO/OFF, only Helmet and camera leaning were 75 set to 0 now.
Are you using the setting for Legacy ON or OFF? Have you tried to change that setting?
That setting allows you to lock your camera on the car rather than on the horizon.
Be aware that movement set to 0 with legacy on works adding lock to the camera. If you use legacy off, to add lock you need to push the slider towards 100 instead

Use legacy Head Movement is set to NO (the only one legacy in the menu Camera/Movement)

See, its absolute not the lack of Reiza's thunderwork. Reiza is the most dedicated dev group in creating race games. Is that bloody aweful Madness engine. No matter which dev is working on, the engine is horrible. Is not arcade (NFS, Grid) but it is alsof not a sim. Is between which makes it aweful.

Tried set it on and it shakes.
Thanks for your time all!
I will try the next release just another 2 hours in the counter.(this is my experience with this game always)

Enjoy.
Set it to on and then set the slider between 0-20. Your car will not shake compared to your monitor and will not shake much compared the world too

Quite the opposite. It has a vastly greater amount of sophisticated models than any other sim. Including the most popular of them like ACC and iracing.
It is far more simulative than anything you can find on the market today.
Problem has always been the fact that such a complex system requires a lot of tuning and SMS just wanted a quick buck and bailed before finishing the job.

The problem isn't the Madness engine- in the right hands it's a very capable engine with a lot of very advanced gear behind it, and AMS2 in its current state is good proof that the potential is absolutely there for Madness to hang with the big boys like rF2 and ACC
The trouble, however, is that SMS never unlocked its true potential and Reiza have only been able to start unlocking it after about 1.3 onwards (there's a reason basically the whole sim changed every update physics-wise and that it's only planned to be in it's "mature state" apparently after this one, which I am very excited for but also anxious since having to relearn the driving model constantly has been a pretty inconvenient part for me having been into AMS2 since about 1.1.3 or so)
I just hope this is finally the update where the sim is dialed in proper and people can finally start seeing AMS2 for what it is: a very competent simulator that has already removed itself from much of the jank of PC and Shift and will hopefully get even further from that and carve it's own identity

Reading this thread and the ones for the last two or three major updates have been interesting for me.

Back in mid-February I decided to hold off driving AMS2 until the update that was due at the end of that month. Unfortunately, a family member suffered a major medical problem shortly after that which necessitated my moving in with them indefinitely for caretaking. The result is I have not driven AMS2 (or any other title) in roughly six months now.

When I read these update threads, I can't help but think that whenver I do manage to get some time back home, I'm going to come back to a completely different game...or at least a completely different driving experience...than what was familiar to me half a year ago.

What are those cars in the article picture? They look like something in which the guards at the Wicked Witch of the West's castle would have chased Dorothy and company after the poppies failed to put them under. "Oh-ree-oh! Yo-rum! Oh-ree-oh! Yo-rum!"

I must be getting old. Open-wheel race cars haven't looked right to me since the mid to late eighties. And they need to stop all this KERS and DRS nonsense. Race cars shouldn't have magic buttons. If you can't build it fast enough to compete on its own merits, without special trick buttons and zone rules, then you shouldn't be racing.

And another thing, no more chicanes, bus stops, etc. If you're not smart enough to slow down for a bad curve, the gene pool doesn't need you.

Now you kids get off my lawn!
