Assetto Corsa Competizione | Challengers Pack DLC and Game Update Released

ACC Challengers Pack DLC 01.jpg
Kunos Simulazioni has released the fifth DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, the Challengers Pack.

ACC’s latest DLC pack is the Challengers Pack DLC, composed mostly of spec series race cars.

This is the fifth DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione, following the release of the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, British GT Pack, and 2020 GT World Challenge Pack.

Here is an overview about what is included in the new DLC:

Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II – The only true GT3 car to be released here is the newest Audi GT3 car. ACC already has the R8 LMS and LMS Evo, and this is another step forward for the Audi. Improvements to the aero and suspension aren’t major, but enough to soften the edge of a car known for its narrow effective tire window. It remains generally nimble, with good overall handling.

BMW M2 CS Racing – The newest BMW to be added to this sim is the M2 CS Racing. A sub-400 horsepower spec series car that drives unlike anything in the sim to date. This car is designed for wheel-to-wheel racing, where the advantage goes to the driver that can conserve momentum effectively. The car will tend to understeer if pushed too hard through a corner, so a well-trained left foot that can slow the car just enough to allow efficient cornering is a must.

Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo – Kunos has given players the most powerful car in ACC to date as part of this pack. Ferrari’s 488 Challenge Evo effectively a 488 GT3 without compliance to GT3 regulations. The twin-turbo charged, mid-mounted 3.9L V8 engine produces an impressive 670 horsepower and 760 Newton-meters of torque. It’s heavier than its GT3 counterpart, so the incredible power figures and resulting straight line speeds are balanced with longer braking zones. The Challenge Evo drives as an absolute blast in ACC, with huge top speeds and enough torque to seldom warrant using 1st or 2nd gear.

Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo2 – The Super Trofeo is nothing new to Assetto Corsa Competizione, but this new version outperforms its predecessor by almost any metric. While the old Super Trofeo in ACC was nervous, the new Evo2 is a confident, fast monster on the track. Its 5.2L V10 engine maintains the roar we’ve come to expect from the Lambo and Audi models in this title, and the striking looks of the Super Trofeo may help make this a popular choice for one-make races very soon.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) - Porsche Cup cars hold the distinction of being the biggest selling race car in the world, and it might also be the most popular sim car as well, with its presence in nearly all modern racing sims. Porsche’s newest Cup car, based on the 992 version of the 911, potentially shaves seconds off the lap times of its predecessors while retaining the challenging driving style we have come to associate with the Porsche Cup car. Aerodynamics have changed with the new Cup car, including a larger, gooseneck mounted rear wing. It’s a fun, fast spec series car that should prove as popular as the previous Cup car.

The spec series focus is an unexpected direction for the sim known as the go-to GT3 and GT4 sim, but the new car lineup opens up driving options. One of these options could be a three-make race, since the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche cars are somewhat balanced in overall lap times but possessing different strengths.

Link to DLC, somehow it does not show under main game in store

Instant buy! Cars are great and what I really like about Kunos is how reasonable their prices are. Especially on Xbox where the DLCs can be 50% off on sale. For now I've decided to stay on PC (I'm struggling to run ACC a bit but it has less bugs than on the console) and I was also pleasantly surprised about the price of this pack - for 5 new high detail cars it's very good!

Thank you Kunos for this update and for the great DLC. I am glad to be able to send you some money for this amazing car pack. The update improved the game I bought such along time ago, thank you for keeping supporting it.
I prefer new tracks to new cars, so I am looking forward to thank you again sometime in the summer for an other update and purchase the next track DLC. grazie mille. :)

Thank you @Kenny Paton for you admirable work as a moderator, your efforts and fairness are appreciated.

0 mention of any price or if they updated anything, you download 2.1GB and open the game only to find out that you can pay 11 euros for 5 cars.

I bought the game for 25 euros in early-access, got the game + 10 cars + 10 tracks.
Nowadays, you can buy the finished game (without DLCs) for 20 euros and you pay 10 euros for 5 cars and no extra content, kind of a joke no?
Hi there Mr. Troll ! 5 cars, no extra content...besides the 5 cars I suppose...

Came into this kind of lukewarm because I've never really cared to drive any spec series cars to begin with. Let me now say, to invoke St. Charles, I am stupid.

Damn, these cars are fun.

As mentioned, the Lambo is all of the nimble-ness of the first Super Trofeo without the nervousness. I HATED the first edition of this car and still am not one to drive it, but this...THIS one is fun to drive on the limit.

Approach the BMW with an open mind. If you are of the "slow cars have more fun" school (like savvier sim-racers are,) you will adore this. This thing is MADE for a quick fun race with your buddies. It takes the GT4 concept of being smooth and keeping momentum and bumps it up a notch, but it just feels more responsive and fun than most of the GT4 offerings. I think this is going to carve out a real following for single-make online races.

The Ferrari is totally unlike anything else. Like taking a bath in hot queso, you have to ease into it. The weight seriously has to be taken into account and you'll be re-calibrating braking points and how you attack corners. Took me more time than the others to get a handle on just what the hell was going on with this one. People will either love it or hate it.

You're either a Porsche person or you're not in ACC. I'm a Porsche person, so I thought this car was a hoot. Makes me regret not taking more of an interest in Porsche Cup offerings previously. Love it entering corners. Treat her nicely and she will give you plenty. That sounded way dirtier than I meant it to be.

If you like Audi, the Audi gives you more Audi. If you don't like Audi, it won't change your mind. That's it.

Does somebody know where to find the photoshop wire frames templates for the new ACC cars?
Thanks

I have bought all the DLCs (minus their 2 car pack) on the day of release for full price. This one however, if I even do purchase it, it will certainly be on a 50% off sale. I'm sure the cars are all fine, I'm just not interested in driving them when they each have something comparable in the game already.

There's an optics problem for cars-only DLC when it appears they're just versions of cars you already own.

"How hard could it be to copy&paste lol" I've seen some of the work that goes into the copy&pastes from the iRacing forums, it's much more than you might think but it still feels like paying for cars it looks like you already own is an optics problem.

If I were to make a suggestion, I would say to always throw in something that feels like a significant new tangible thing.

Maybe it's mixing up cars and tracks in each dlc.

Or maybe new non-core game modes or features are in dlc.

I'm sure there's many different ways to improve the dlc experience.

I bought the DLC and I can assure you that some of the cars do not really compare or overlap with the existing ones. The Ferrari is a beast, 7-speed gearbox and a more torque than any other car in ACC. I drove it at Misano and rarely went lower than 3rd gear. The BMW, on the other hand, will probably won't be very popular, because it is by far the least powerful car in the game. I like it, but it feels more like a touring car. The Lambo is great fun, the Porsche 992 is also different: no traction control, which is a rarity in ACC. The one that doesn't feel really different at all is the Audi, but I like Audis in general, so no complaint from me.

It's a really fun DLC overall. I understand why some people won't buy it immediately, because it doesn't "look" like new content, but you do get some very fun and at time different driving experiences with this pack.

Obviously, the next DLC will have to feature new tracks and it seems more and more likely, from what I've read on the Internet, that it will feature some American tracks and maybe some Asian ones.
