ACC | Ferrari 296 GT3 Coming in April

Kunos just announced on social media an official release date for the Ferrari 296 GT3 in Assetto Corsa Competizione.

The car will be available on the Steam Store on 19th April, which indicates it will not be part of a free update - and not included on console versions of the game right now.

Other cars haven't been mentioned though, despite the fact we're expecting more to be added in the simulation this year. One reason might be the inclusion of the Italian brand's all new GT3 racer has been prioritised for it to be used in the Ferrari Esports Series, as announced in the trailer.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 features a new turbocharged V6 it shares with the 499P hypercar - without the complimentary electric powertrain of course. The turbochargers are fitted between the cylinder banks, angled at 120°, to reduce the center of gravity of the whole power unit in an effort to improve handling and balance.

Just 1 car? And I thought the last DLC was a disappointment... There better be a car or track announcement every week before 19th, or else...
I don't think so. Announcing it this soon would probably mean they got a lot of content planned based on previous announcements. They like to "drip feed" showing what's coming in the DLC. I might be totally wrong though, just my observation based on their latest announcements.

honestly I have enough cars for ACC, but I need a new tracks pack, but sadly Nordschleife is the big miss
Why in hell the Nords has to be mentioned in every single moment when something is or even isnt announced, while (hopefully at this point) knowing this is sim about series that DOESNT INCLUDE NORDSCHLEIFE! Goes beyond my mind... :cautious:

But yeah, great to see still content coming. And soon there is a bunch of Ferraris filling at least top ten groups all around online. Then update bop etc, and then we see the rant about noobing the car. And so on... :coffee:

Nordschleife ain't a track used by SRO motorsport series, therefore it can't be ported on ACC, unfortunately.

I would beg Kunos Simulazioni to add the missing American and European tracks, though :inlove:
Vi prego ragazzi, portate su ACC i tracciati americani ed Europei che mancano...

Frankly, I never understood why people are so hung up about the Nords.

But, yes, every time something is announced for ACC, you'll get the inevitable comments about the Nords, when it has been know for the last 5 years that ACC is the official game of the SRO series and anything not in that championship is not in the game.

The 296 is a nice addition for ACC.
Think the trackpack/carpack that follows up will cost some money.
But i think thats okay.
Kunos only charges a few dollars/euros (whatever) for excellent, very well made content.
They invest devtime, and no company in the world can exist without income.
And no, the Nordschleife is not needed.
There are so many other tracks to race on.

would be odd seeing this ar became a sort of solo DLC, i think it would be nice to bring it alongside the other 2 brand new gt3 from porsche and lambo

Well, to be fair new cars don't make me excited for this game, I think I'm done with it already and waiting for something really new, like AC2. I would drive a couple of laps in this Ferrari if it was for free, being paid content I'll pass.

I'd love a nice trackpack... the more tracks the better, especially the missing tracks!
And also, if you want to pay less, you can just wait for some CD Key offers on the web. If I find the price of a DLC too high, I just wait for few weeks and generally I can save some bucks.

That won’t change, and why should it. ACC is an officially licensed GT World Challenge simulation, which obviously doesn’t include the Nordschleife in this series. Kunos cannot break licensing agreements, and include tracks that are not part of this series. If you want to race on the Nordschleife, then there are enough sims out there e.g., RF2; RRE; AC & AMS2.
