Assetto Corsa - Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2017 - Silverstone National circuit.

Jason Palmer
Kunos have recently released the final Porsche DLC car pack for Assetto Corsa and it contains for me some of the best cars, GT3 Porsche's and so i picked the 911 GT3 Cup 2017 car for this review.

To go with the new Porsche pack Kunos also updated Assetto Corsa to version 1.11 with along many fixes and updates it features a v10 tyre update.

This new tyre model that has been used with the new GT3 versions of the 911, along with many of the other brands of GT3 cars in the sim, is such a transformation from earlier models and brings a whole new life to this style of car.

Basically the cars feels alive, you can feel it moving about the track and it responds directly to your input from your wheel and pedals.

You can see this in the video when i brake too late into a corner and it starts to break away or if i am impatient out of a corner and the rear end wants to swap around, but you know its going to react that way due to the tyre feedback via the FFB and its normally savable as long as you have not gone over the edge of the tyres grip.

It feels so satisfying to drive hard and you can have a lot of fun on the edge and when it does go wrong you know why and its normally you getting it completely wrong !

I think tyre wise this is one the best updates for Assetto Corsa so far and i cant wait for them to roll it out across the entire line up of cars as it brings this sim right up the pecking order for me.

As the Porsche Packs and Assetto Corsa are currently in the Steam Winter Sale its a no brainer really just check out the link and get ready to open your digital wallet !

I see that Kunos still has not fixed the ai's choo choo train fastline and no blocking technics thus allowing an opposing driver to simply dive bomb an ai in every turn to take it's position, such ashame! I guess i'am spoiled racing against rF2's ai which does use a blocking technic. I'am curious what ai strength setting you been using here? Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas!

If you get the right car and track combination you can have some great battles with the AI, I think the issue here is I left the AI level to low after my earlier races at just 95% and just did a quick race, where a race weekend produces much better AI racing.
