- description

So with the release of update 1.51 things have improved
quite well specifically regarding the frame rate, still a
bit of an hassle to get it consistent on a gtx 1050 ti,
but low 50's should be doable ~50fps.

With that in mind I decided to expand the tweaks and
share them with like minded players.

The visual tweaks are listed below how ever note that
the cockpit tweak is the same shader used in chase cam
mode to render the glass of the car and the tweak can
alter glass rendering quite dramatically.

If you do not like specific tweaks please see 'further tweaking'
for disabling specific shader tweaks.

3dmigoto shader tweaks:
- reduce fog density all distances
- remove overlay raindrops, etc chase camera and replay
- remove lensflare plus its vertex shader
- road increase presence profile gravel etc
- road increase presence tire tracks
- interior car reduce darkness
- desaturate driver and dashboard

For driving in cockpitview 3dmigoto shader tweak:
- alter cockpitview by reducing glare and dirt accumulation on windshield

The reshade shader, is customized, only applies smaa
so disable in game AA.

This package contains all the tweaks and reshade
*plus* the cockpit view tweak so use this package if you intend
to drive in the cockpit of the car.

Note(s):
The reshade package has customized shaders it is not advisable to mix and match.

- install

Copy the contents of the zip file to the install folder of
wrc 8, the folder which contains wrc8.exe.

The following instructions are only needed
if you do not like using unverified dll's you can:

download 3dmigoto from:
download version 1.3.16 and place the following dlls in the install dir of
wrc 8:
d3d11.dll (64bits)
d3dcompiler_46.dll
then copy `d3dx.ini, ShaderCache and ShaderFixes from the zip file to the same dir aka folder.

download reshade from
install *only* dxgi.dll (64bits) to the install dir aka folder of wrc 8.
Then copy the reshade folder plus ReShade.ini and dxgi.ini
from the package to the install dir of wrc 8.

- verify

After running the game the folder ShaderFixes should contain the .bin versions:

183a1e9c719d91a0-ps_replace.bin
322c6c9124d2e360-ps_replace.bin
37bd2c1ae79c2fd3-ps_replace.bin
5c222372b5d7512f-ps_replace.bin
73ee38cee0043973-ps_replace.bin
7a1034edd800ae9e-ps_replace.bin
955f01e5c067e554-ps_replace.bin
b6ec8f05bce8af71-ps_replace.bin
d0e0c8c166bef80a-vs_replace.bin

of

183a1e9c719d91a0-ps_replace.txt
322c6c9124d2e360-ps_replace.txt
37bd2c1ae79c2fd3-ps_replace.txt
5c222372b5d7512f-ps_replace.txt
73ee38cee0043973-ps_replace.txt
7a1034edd800ae9e-ps_replace.txt
955f01e5c067e554-ps_replace.txt
b6ec8f05bce8af71-ps_replace.txt
d0e0c8c166bef80a-vs_replace.txt

This means that the file(s) .txt have been compiled by 3dmigoto (d3d11.dll)

- tested

Tested with file version 1.51 of wrc 8
on win 7 / nvidia 1050gtx ti
See screenshot for settings game.

- performance

reshade / 3dmigoto gpu usage 1080p@ ~52.3fps
without - clock 1316Mhz gpu usage ~97%
with - clock 1450Mhz gpu usage ~95%
approximately 6% increase (1050gtx ti on win 7)
max gpu: 1772Mhz gpu usage 100%
**clamped frame rate to 52.3 no sync

- further tweaking

If you like you can compare the modified shader, ShaderCache contains
the original shader, to alter values.

To disable specific tweaks open the shader from
the folder 'shaderfixes' with a text editor example:
183a1e9c719d91a0-ps_replace.txt

Has a remark on the top line:
// reduce fog density all distances

So if you do not want that to happen
remove the shader from the folder 'shaderfixes'

183a1e9c719d91a0-ps_replace.txt

and if compiled remove:

183a1e9c719d91a0-ps_replace.bin

then restart the game.

All shaders <shadernumber>ps_replace.txt have
a similar descriptive remark.

- tips

Your co-driver can under certain circumstances and
given tracks bombard you with directions one way to slim
that down is by renaming the audio .paf files in
WIN32\Sounds\VOICE\GE\PACENOTES\MALE
in this case the lanugage is german
WIN32\Sounds\VOICE\EN\PACENOTES\MALE
if you are using an english co driver
and so on for other lauguages

example by renaming:
ATOM_JUNCTION.PAF
to:
ATOM_JUNCTION.PAF.o

The co driver will no longer say 'cross junction'
other useful sound files to silence are
ATOM_M10.PAF.o
ATOM_M20.PAF.o
ATOM_M30.PAF.o
ATOM_M40.PAF.o
Which indicate speed to drive car.
