Update v7.0

It can be installed over top of previous versions of my mods

There are now 2 versions
WRC8 Mods - Standard Version
WRC8 Mods - Texture Mod Version

please read the included instructions

New Mods:

Physics Mod: Sim-PLUS+

Uses the same main physics and grip mods as the previous Sim-PLUS but changes one setting of the gravity.
You should now notice every little lump, bump and imperfection in the stage surfaces.
You should hear the car wheels and engine fighting for grip as the wheel move over the rough stage surfaces.
Steering will go light on crests of hills and on parts of the stages it didn't before.
I think that the developers tamed the gravity to "dumb it down" for console players.
If you thought you knew every stage, think again ;)
Use in combination with any of the Sim-PLUS impact mods for a real challenge.

Snow Dirt Texture Swap Mod:
This Mod will change the dirt build up textures that are applied to the car during the snow stages.
The car will now not look like it has been in a deep freezer by the end of a snow stage.

The Mod changes the snow dirt textures applied to the:
Windscreen, Car Body, Car Lights, Car Wheels, Car Tires

There are 3 versions, each with a variation so that you can choose which combination you like.

Exhaust Mod:
3 Versions.

A:
Exhaust pops active higher in the rev range
%60 chance of pop occuring
More pops each time up to a maximum of 6
Larger flames

B:
Exhaust pops active higher in the rev range
%80 chance of pop occuring
More pops each time up to a maximum of 10
Larger flames

C:
Exhaust pops active higher in the rev range
%100 chance of pop occuring
More pops each time up to a maximum of 15
Pops biased to gear downshifts
Larger flames

Changes to existing Mods:

All Physics Mods updated to v.7:

Increased engine braking on all cars all mods (off throttle engine braking)
I always felt that the default engine braking was not strong enough.
I have only made a slight increase but you should notice a big difference when using the gears to slow the car down when off the throttle.
Controlling the car using the throttle should now also feel more realistic.

Impact Physics Mod:
3 versions, Sim-PLUS , Sim-PLUS+ , Sim-PLUS++
All are higher strength than default.

User Settings File Mod:
Added the option to remove the sun rays / god rays

Windscreen Mod:
The over bright in car camera fix and windscreen dirt level mod can now be selected separately

Windscreen Mod:
Small changes to the in car brightness shader fix

Lighting Mod:
Lowered the brake light brightness (only the emitted light when you push the brakes)

Lighting Mod:
Changed headlight bulbs to 6500K (They were 8500K in v6.0)

Hud Mod:
More transparent replay controls
Removed the "Skip" button showing in the stage intros

Movie Mod:
Added the option to restore all intro movies using the mod installer

ReShade:
Updated to v4.5.0
You can now use the keys: Page Up & Page Down to scroll through ReShade presets.

Installer Changes:
Updated the in game credits page to include thanks to some of the forum members here.

Added a reminder at game start up to check the screen resolution and refresh rate. (multilingual)

Changed the mods list to make it easier to read.

The installer will now remember your previous mod selection. Helpful if you forgot what mods you last used.

For safety I have now added a "check disk space" routine to the initial mod installer, the mod installer will not start without the required amount of free disk space available on the drive where the WRC 8 game is installed as this is very important for the extraction process.

For safety the mod installer will now not install files if it detects that the game is running in the background and will give you the option to close the game to continue.

To be able to swap car textures and add the exhaust mod we now need to extract more of the PKG files.
Because of this mod installer v7.0 Texture Mod version will now require 23 Gigabytes of free space and a complete game folder backup.
Don't worry, once the PKG files have all been extracted the mod installer will then remove the PKG files and give back the hard drive space.
I have also included a separate v7.0 Standard version that does not have the snow texture mods and the exhaust mod for people who do not want these mods.
The standard version installs exactly the same as previous versions of my mods.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed Physics Mods not selecting correctly in certain circumstances.
60Hz Lock mod will no longer try to force full-screen rendering.
Update v6.0

It can be installed over top of previous versions of my mods

Physics v.6
Adjusted the front to back centre of gravity to simulate the correct weight distribution on the front engine cars.
Front engine cars are now a little more nose heavy. The default game has the centre of gravity set to the very middle of the car.

Raised the centre of gravity up slightly as I think v.5 was a little to low.

Impact Physics Mod:
⦁ Sim-PLUS

Barriers, Armco, Walls, Fences, Hay Bales Signs, Ditches etc. will now affect the car much more than the default game.
Crash physics are now much stronger and the crash dynamics are more realistic.
Hitting a hay bale head on at 80Mph is going to hurt! as are electricity poles etc
Unfortunately the game still goes crazy now and again and sends the car into outer space, nothing i can do about this.
I think the reason is that the collision markers in the stages have some bugs in them.

Impact Physics Mod:
⦁ Novice

Barriers, Armco, Walls, Fences, Hay Bales Signs etc. will now not slow down the car down as much as the default game and will not grab the car and drag it to a standstill as often. During crashes the car will slide more and take longer to come to a stop. Crashing into the terrain and running wide across bumpy terrain should not buck the up car up into the air as much as default.

Vehicle Lighting Mod:
Allows you to adjust the intensity of the cars front spotlights.

There are 5 levels for the front spotlights.

The lower settings 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 make night stages more natural looking and also reduce bloom effects, if you have bloom set to on (which now looks much better with my mods)
Misty and wet night time stages are now much nicer to drive especially when combined with my no rain drops mod.

All Mods also boost the brightness of the cars front headlights,
I found the default headlight brightness to be way to dim.
This comes in very handy when you smash the front spotlights off in a crash.

All Mods also change the headlight bulbs to 8500K instead of default 6000K
All Mods also Adjust the brake light intensity and spread on the ground
All Mods also Increase the brake disk glow.

Shader Mod - Rain Drops Mod:
Removes the fake rain drops that cover the screen in replays, intros, bumper, bonnet and chase cam views when it rains.
__________________

Shader Mod - Windscreen Mod:
Fixes the over bright in car camera views.

Windscreen dirt and mud build up is fully now controllable to your preference.

There are 5 settings to choose from. No windscreen dirt at all up to full rally mode.

Shader Mods - Various:

⦁ Lens Dirt Mod:
Removes fake camera lens smudges.
Gives a much cleaner image and stops bloom / smudge artefacts when a bright light shines at your view.

⦁ 60hz lock mode:
Option to lock the rendering to 60Hz
________________

⦁ Progress bar
⦁ Speedo
⦁ Speedo needle
⦁ Turbo gauge
⦁ MPH
⦁ Timer
⦁ Damage meter
⦁ HUD components are more transparent
⦁ Changed colors
⦁ Changed over rev effect on RPM gauge
_______________

Installer Changes:

You can now select "Restore Defaults" in the Mods installer in the drop down menu.
Added extra UserSetting Mod files that keep menu blur but still mods graphics settings and motion blur.
Removed the "Launch Game" option as it was causing problems for some users.
At the bottom of the mods list you will now find the previous v.5 physics mods.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed Kylotonn Games error, Stratos had wrong centre of gravity.
Fixed road surface vibrations not always working correctly with my FFB mod.
Fixed the vehicle glass and dirt not showing correctly during replays in some situations when using the in car view fix (formally called Tints Mod now replaced with Windscreen Mod)
Update v.5.0

Impact Physics Mod: v.1 and v.2

Barriers, Armco, Walls, Fences, Hay Bails Signs etc. will now not slow down the car down as much as the default game and will not grab the car and drag it to a standstill as often. You should also be able to smash through fences a little easier. During crashes the car will slide more and take longer to come to a stop. Crash physics are much improved with this mod, though there are some parts in the games stages that seem to ignore any physics setting and send the car flying into the air, nothing I can do about this. Crashing into the terrain and running wide across bumpy terrain should not buck the up car up into the air as much as default. Hitting rocks at 90mph is not going to end well using this mod ;) be prepared to crash a lot at first! after a while you will notice that you will get away with more off road mistakes and close calls than before when driving to the limit.
Try them out im sure you will like them. Both are work in progress.

Post Process Mod.
x3 scale was causing performance issues slowing the game down and at some resolutions made the effects look worse. x1 scale gives a much nicer effect, games own DOF is more visable and the god rays look nice. x1.5 and x2.0 are also available if you do want them. Default is now x1

Added LightDOF shader to ReShade.
Added LightDOF shader to ReShade. It will slightly blur them menus but I have set it to give a nice blur to far away objects and not blur the menus very much. Added settings for LightDOF to all Shader presets and set the in game DOF in the UserSettings Mod to off.

ReShade:
ReShade presets and shaders will no longer be deleted each time the mod installer is run, for those who are using their own shaders and presets you can now run the installer and keep all of your ReShade settings each time.

Graphics:
Re-balanced the Graphics Mod and User setting mod for good visuals and good performance, along with the DOF and God Rays changes things should run nice and smooth again. Thanks for the feedback.

Physics:
Slightly adjusted the Physics in Default-PLUS to react more realistically with the Impact Physics Mod.

Bugs:
Fixed a bug in Damage Mod not restoring the games default settings when selected.

Added Physics Mod v.4 Default-PLUS

Physics Mod v.4: (Default-PLUS) - Recommended if you play with damage on.

⦁ Default Main Gravity
⦁ Adjusts Tyre Friction
⦁ Adjusts Angular Momentum
⦁ Adjusts Angular Damping
⦁ Adjusts Centre of Gravity

Due to feedback, I have added this Mod. It keeps the games default main gravity but enhances the cars handling and adds the better felling of the steering wheel for force feedback wheel users. The mod also has 3 grip levels. Grip level B is the same as the default game. A has more grip than game default, C has less grip than game default, so you can select which grip level feels good to you.

Bug fixes for some of the other mods.

Rebuilt the mod installer:
I have tried to make it as simple to use as possible as some people were having difficulty getting things to work.
