Note that I applied the proportions listed in the regulations exactly, even though it produces a plate that isn't exactly like the example. Weird, right? Oh, well. Still looks fine.

As mentioned in last night's teaser post in the comments section, today's Version 2.3 release includes an entirely new feature: custom badges for indicating a car's marque and class within Assetto Corsa and AC Content Manager. This uses AC's built-in method for defining a car's display "badge", and, for users of CM, installation is fairly easy. Like other changes to a car's UI-related files, all of these customizations are applied locally in your library, so there's no concern about integrating with online servers. This change improves the AC and CM experience in several contexts, including the creation of offline session grids, joining an online server, and showing the session participants in real-time apps like SubStanding.

A full set of instructions is included with this version; see the instructions-badges.html file included in the archive for all the details.

This version includes 87 custom pre-made marque/class badges, and the GIMP drawing file that will allow you to create your own! Here are several examples:

There are a lot of LMP3 car mods for Assetto Corsa and rFactor2 these days, and there are a lot of IMSA series that are running LMP3 cars. Low Fuel Motorsport's recent addition of Assetto Corsa support includes use of the Duqueine D08 and an excuse to produce these plates. And so this update focuses on proper badging for these entry-tier prototypes.

Included in this update are:

• an update to the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship plate with the 2024 LMP3 field color
• a new IMSA VP Racing Fuels Sports Car Challenge plate with both LMP3 and GSX (GT4) fields
• a new IMSA/HSR Prototype Challenge plate
  • Note that this series has not yet run its first race at the time of this update, and I have not seen pictures of the new plates, so this is a speculative design. If the real plate turns out to be different, another update will be posted following that first event.

Ask and you shall receive. 2023 SRO IGTC Spa24 plates. This is just a cover over the GTWC Europe plate, with this year's Spa24 event logo.

Sorry for the churn of releasing two updates in three days, but I just saw this article about the Garage56 Hendrick program and it's fully decked out in its 24hLM livery — including this year's updated number plate! So I threw together a new version for this year's Le Mans centenary. This update includes not only what I assume to be the "normal" plates, but also a black "Invitational Class" background (with a special car#), and the "IC" invitational class badge.

This update includes plates for the following series:

According to research, SRO were not yet using separate class badges in conjunction with the number plates; only the plate color indicated class status. Also note the PRO plates sometimes had a white banner, and sometimes had the black. The white banner is provided as an optional overlay.

YAY NEW STUFF!

The first race of the SRO GT World Challenge America series for 2020 was streamed today, and with it, we get our first glance of what's in store for us in the post-Blancpain/Pirelli sponsorship era. It seems Rebellion has taken over, and the GTWC America series is running three different number plate formats.

First, the plates on the doors are the classic square layout, with a Rebellion banner across the top, a GTWC America badge in the lower-left, and a class bar in the lower right. These are similar to last year's IGTC Kyalami plates.



Then there is a long rectangular plate that goes on the hood of the car. This uses the new rectangular template that was added in version 2.1 of this resource.



Finally, there is a simple number/class bar that appears on the rear bumper.



The font used for the numbers is Bebas. It's freely available, so I've also included it in the font folder in the resource.

For comparison to the real cars, pay attention to the start of today's stream, while the TV crew is doing their pit walk. You can see a few examples of the PRO-AM and AM plates. The lone SILVER entry wasn't shown in detail, so I'm guessing from previous years. Note that this series will apparently not have a pure PRO class, so I haven't yet included a PRO class variant of these plates.

OTHER NOTES

The template has some placeholders for JGTC and Lamborghini SuperTrofeo. Those are still next in the backlog; I just got distracted by today's stream when I realized that putting the new SRO plates together would be relatively straightforward.

This update adds plate templates for two Asian series.

• Asian Le Mans Series
  • LMP2 PRO

• SuperGT (2005-2019)

  • GT300

The SuperGT plates include the basic frame that's common to all seasons (with the Autobacs banner on top) plus materials to recreate any season-specific frame for any year. The assets are labelled so that you can easily recreate any specific year's SuperGT plate.

Also, throughout the entire template file, the car number layers have been re-labelled so that the appropriate font is named in the label. This will allow you to find and install the proper font if you haven't already. (Without the font installed, GIMP will default the layer to a "standard" font which will likely look wrong. This change in the template will help you fix these errors.)

I had intended to do JGTC first instead of SuperGT, but JGTC turned out to be both harder to research, and less consistent year-over-year, so I went for the "most bang for the buck" first in this update.

This update adds some plate styles related to older series and some additional fantasy series.

• American Le Mans Series (ALMS)— 2013-styled plates with all class colors (P1, P2, PC, GT, GTC). Fortunately they seem to use the same background colors that the WEC and ELMS are still using, so producing all the background fields was easy. These are good for the Ferrari 458 and BMW Z4 GT2 cars that are in Assetto Corsa if you feel weird badging them for modern IMSA.

• Fantasy: 24h Le Mans Vintage Revival— modern-styled plates to be put on vintage Le Mans cars like the Mazda 787B. This is just a new top banner that can be applied to the WEC/ELMS category that was already in the template.

• Fantasy: 2old4forza vs. GT Panama YouTube Challenge— a current series on SimRacingSystem. These are basically the same as the Jean vs. zerobandwidth templates that were already there, but with the current competitor logos.

• Fantasy: Ligier JS8 Cup — for Gary Paterson's Ligier JS8 mod. Includes two different classes (blue and red) so that you can run a multiclass race with the standard and "stage 1" variants. Apparently there's a real Ligier JS Cup but it was for modern prototypes, which makes this semi-joke plate style even better.

There are also several new marque and series badges added to the resource folders.

Well, that was shockingly easy, given that it was based on the current Blancpain plates, the race logos were easy to find, and GT World had an awesome-quality live stream of the race that provided excellent reference screenshots.

Now you can have commemorative Kyalami 9-Hour plates to go with the brand-new Kyalami track for Assetto Corsa... or whatever other game you make liveries for.

Following up on a tip from @Littlefysh, I've made corrections to all of the 2019 SRO plates for Blancpain GT3 and TC America!

Just a minor update this time.
While browsing online I found that SRO Blancpain has a "SILVER" class. So I added it to the 2019 Blancpain GT3 template.

This update brings a couple of nice IMSA-related improvements.

UPDATED: IMSA WeatherTech Series Templates

The IMSA WeatherTech series plates have been completely reorganized so that they can support creation of plates simulating any year from 2015-2019, in any of the various classes that have existed since the merger. Since this is complicated there's a set of instructions included with the file; just open the included instructions-IMSA-WTSCC.html in any browser.

ADDED: IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge (2019) Templates

The IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup plates were lost in the total redo from 1.x to 2.x, but now they're back, with the 2019 series logos.



IMPROVED: Racing Series Badges

The series folder that contains all of the various logos and badges from the different race series has been totally reworked so that the files are much more easily found in the folder listing. Every sanctioning body's logo is just their name; the logos for their series contain the word series, and the badges for each car class contain the word class. This should make it much easier to use the materials in that folder to edit your own badges and liveries with the official graphics. I've also figured out how to make my own templates for the standardized IMSA class badges (finally!) so expect to see more of those added to the archive in future updates.

As part of the upcoming Jean vs. zerobandwidth series on SimRacingSystem, the number template has been updated with the plate design from its custom livery pack. Anyone designing their own custom livery for this series is encouraged to use the black-on-white format; the dark-background ones are for the series hosts.

This update is a complete rework of the Universal Number Plate file for GIMP. It includes nearly all the same stuff as the previous iteration, and adds the following:

• angled DTM plates (in both slanty directions)
• Global MX-5 Cup roundels in black and white
• Blancpain/SRO GT Challenge (2019) PRO, PRO-AM, and AM classes
• SRO TC America (2019) TCR and TC classes
• VLN (2016)
• VLN (2017)
• WEC (2017) with the correct DHL sponsor banner instead of the WEC logo

The plates that were carried over from the previous version look pretty much the same, but here are some samples of the new stuff:



Notice that the above are now thumbnails, not full-size captures, because the template is now in glorious 512x512 resolution, which should make it usable even on 4k-resolution skin files.

WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE

Note that, for 2019, the prototype cars will have larger WEC-style number plates. The "usual" IMSA-style plates, featuring the WTSCC and Endurance Cup logos, will appear only on the nose of a prototype.

The "normal" WTSCC plates will appear on the noses of the prototypes and on all locations on the GT cars.

The MPC cars get new Michelin-themed decal colors to replace the Continental colors from 2018.
