Hello I am using text effects for this post
The first Fuji 24h race was held on April 8th until April 9th, 1967. There was no qualifying held, and the cars were lined up in order of number. That meant the two 2000GT's would be lucky enough to start at the front. The race also copied the traditional Le Mans start - I wonder if FISCO Club (the organizers) were inspired by a certain French endurance race.
Represented in this is both the #1 and #2 Toyota 2000GT - with both custom decals and shapes. All in all I spent something like 2 hours on both skins.
#1 was driven by Hosoya / Otsubo and #2 by Tsutsumi / Fushida - all of which were the top Toyota works drivers at that time. Toyota also entered a handful of little Sports 800's, which are among the most underrated cars of the era in my honest opinion.
Toyota took a 1-2-3 finish with #1 and #2 finishing 1st and 2nd, with a Sports 800 #20 finishing in 3rd. This produced another iconic photograph.
Both skins are made for the Toyota 2000GT Sport. NOT THE TCL 2000GT.
If you can't find the car, please do join the archive I linked below the photos so we can help you find the car.
