With version 1.26 comes the following updates/additions:

  • One new team for each model, bringing us to 13 teams/26 cars per model
  • Team AMSU joins the Minis!
  • Team Weeknight Racing joins the Lancers!
  • Team Vitaphoros joins the Miatas!
  • Mercado Libre Lancer livery was cleaned up a little (some jagged edges needed smoothing).
  • Debrecen Nanotechnologiak Miata had its livery replaced with something a little more serious and a little less silly.
  • Qualifying is now private by default in the .srs file.
  • Yellow flag settings in .srs file adjusted (previous versions had FCYs called too easily on road courses).
See the main post for collages!
Happy 2024!

For this update, we see:
  • Some minor updates to the Moukari and Lehmann Industries liveries.
  • All Lancers and Minis feature car number decals on their front and rear windshields.
  • All Miatas feature car number decals on their front windshields; as the Miata has no rear window, we incorporated car number decals as part of their livery somewhere on the rear bumper (if it wasn't there in a previous version).
  • The cockpit view of the Miata's front windshield features a smoother line along the bottom edge of black strip.
  • LOD distances adjusted for the Miata -- they were disappearing a little too closely in the last version.
  • Miata fuel capacity is now at 29 liters; it uses slightly less fuel than the Mini after additional testing.
  • Some AI changes courtesy of Matthew.S: blue flag behavior and track rejoin behavior (after an incident) have been (hopefully) improved.
  • An OpenSpreadsheet (.ods) file, featuring the drivers in this mod sortable by the Speed rating in their respective Talent files, can be found in the Teams folder.
  • Each model has two new teams, bringing each model to 12 teams/24 cars!
  • The Miatas are joined by Straylight and McDowell Media Consulting.
  • The Lancers are joined by Interlocutor and Team URP.
  • The Minis are joined by FSTR Race Team and Sticla Chemical Engineering.
A very special thanks to RaceZilla for contributing the FSTR livery! :)

You can safely overwrite previous versions.

Despite my assertion that the liveries were finalized in version 1.20, there were three Miata liveries that needed a little attention before I was satisfied.

*O'Sullivan -- the Holmes magnifying glass logo was moved slightly to have less overlap with the rear side lights (said lights are not visible in show room, but are visible on track).
*Debrecen -- a carbon layer with a tighter weave was used for the middle carbon stripe; Morris tea logos removed; front key logos removed; rear key logos moved and assigned a company name (üldvõti).
*SupraMetro -- for more contrast and to have one fewer Miata team with a mostly-monochrome body, we darkened the blue color and added a third color (black). The rear wings were made black for less color clash in the rear. The blue rims on #32 were darkened accordingly.

With any luck this is actually the last update, but who knows. :D

All liveries are complete. Each model now features ten teams/twenty cars. It's probably far too many, but this was the goal we set out for ourselves when we began this update project.

Future updates are unlikely, other than small updates to fix oversights we may have missed in this update -- or belated discoveries of gamebreaking bugs in the mod.

With apologies for another release ahead of the completed liveries, we discovered a few inconsistent/unnecessary entries in each car's [DRIVELINE] parameters.

We had asserted in previous versions that drivers were responsible for blipping the throttle on downshifts. This was not correct -- in fact, autoblip on downshift has always been present in all previous versions of this mod. We have opted to leave autoblip in place, and adjusted the documentation accordingly. We cleaned up some of the [DRIVELINE] parameters along the way. (Of course, drivers are welcome to blip anyway -- but for those who don't wish to do so, the car will take care of it for you as it has done all along!)

While we were at it, each car also has two more teams available -- for a total of eight teams each! See the gallery picture at the end of the overview.
Apologies for the relatively quick update.

We were informed of an oversight with the pit stop settings. While we had limited the fuel tank size of each car, a similar cap was not put on the maximum fuel one could put into the car at each stop. (While we doubt you could actually put more fuel in the car than it can hold, it was still an oversight that needed sorting.)

While we were at it, we added Team Rau to the Lancers, Team GuerreroFuerte to the Minis, and Team SupraMetro to the Miatas!

See the Overview page for an updated gallery.
This update features the following changes:

1) For each model, five teams have received updated liveries. These liveries are, we believe, better than what we had before. Many are expies/tributes to real life liveries but with fictional companies instead. See the appropriate credits file for more information.

2) You may notice some teams are missing from the car selection menu. We have commented out their HDV calls since we have not yet updated their liveries. We apologize for having people drag around extra files -- but our plan is to get updated liveries for all teams before the end of 2022.

3) A small typo was fixed in each Miata .veh description.

4) We added unified front and rear wing replacement times for all cars.

You may safely overwrite a previous version if you have one. This also functions as a standalone install for anyone new to the mod.

A big thank you @Eddie Redmayne for reminding me that factory aids should not carry a mass penalty; so the mass penalty for using Low ABS, which is factory, has been removed. (Using high ABS, if permitted by server, will still carry a mass penalty since it's not factory).

You can safely overwrite the previous version; this also functions as a standalone installation.
(You may safely overwrite a previous installation with this update.)

This update sought to unify (1) aid penalties across all cars, (2) pit stop settings (tire change time, refuel time, etc.), and (3) stint duration at maximum fuel capacity.

This was not done previously in part due to my oversight, and in part due to my belief these cars are best used for short races.

However, in the event someone wanted to use these cars for something pseudo-endurance, we wanted to do our best to unify what happens in the pit lane as much as possible.

Particular attention was paid to fuel capacities and maximum duration on track per tank: unfortunately, the default fuel capacities did not lead to equal-length stints at maximum capacity (50 liters for the Mini and Miata meant a much longer stint than the 55 liters of the Lancer). Rather than reduce fuel consumption for the Lancer -- and, indeed, to encourage pit stops for fuel as part of race strategy at longer races -- we have tweaked the fuel capacities for each car (30 liters for the Mini and Miata; 42 liters for the Lancer). We acknowledge that these do not correspond to the real fuel capacities for each car.

The new capacities should allow a stint of a little over an hour in each car at most venues -- but keep in mind that different tracks may yield different maximum stint durations between the cars (a few minutes' variation here and there), not to mention individual driver behavior with respect to the throttle.

These changes should not impact anyone who plans to use these cars for short races where pit stops are not necessary -- the default fuel settings (half a tank in each car) should correspond to 30 or so minutes of track time.

If you should find a serious inequity as a result of the changes in this version, please send me a DM! Cheers!
In this update:

1) ABS now functions as intended with the Miata. Other small brake adjustments were necessary, and diff coast was reduced to 30%.

2) Adjusted engine sounds for the Miata to avoid crackling during online play.

This update functions as a standalone installation for anyone new to the mod, but will also safely overwrite the previous version if you have it. Cheers!
