Small update 13.4 is here.

Main fix

• AMS2: Fixed issue, where in some cases the Tool would not start in AMS2 mode.

If you don't play AMS2, you don't have to update.

Updating from older versions: Just unzip .zip on top of your old installation.

Clean/New install. Unzip the files to anywhere in your system (e.g. under 'Program Files\Telemetry Tool' or to somewhere else). On the first run the Tool will ask location for data files. For install help, see https://telemetrytool.com/install

Notable changes

• Many fixes to the multicar data system for F1 2018-F1 23, AC, ACC, AMS2, PC2, R3E and rF2. Now it is in state, it should have been at 13.0 release.
• rFactor 2, added option to 'Settings --> General Settings' to make the Tool use the surface IMO temps. (by default it uses the more stable inner IMO temps.
• Many F1 23 related fixes and new data usages, where feasible.
• Fixed issue, where it was not possible to load loaded laps from multilap telemetry into Statstistics Table. At the same time enabled opponent laps loading to multilap telemetry.
• Fixes to the 'BLUE Line: Fastest Opponent' to make it work with all the multicar data games.
• Added scrollbars to those windows, where the content might flow over
• RaceInfo, add zoom and rotate to the map in the centerpane . The settings are also saved on per track basis.
• Fixes to the laptime coloring and many places
• General: Optimizations and fixes

If you are using version 13.0, it is very advisable to update to the new version.

The new version has been tested quite a bit for F1 23/F1 22/ACC/AC/AMS2/R3E/rF2, but there might still be something odd lurking around. If you find anything odd, please let me know.

Notable rF2 related changes are:

• Fixed issue on long endurance race, where DELTA would stop working
• Preliminary tyre type data/coloring added to relevant views.
• New multi-car session history statistics shows many data, like laptimes averages (last 3, since pitstop, all valid laps etc), laps since pitstop etc. for all cars in the race
• Fuel need estimate calculator, data is based on your laps completed on the selected car and stored by Telemetry Tool.

Notable new changes

• Full F1 23 support
• Changed lapdata and opponent file formats and added more data to the headers
• Experimental TCP Forward support (to mitigate VPN related packet drop issues).

Normal install rules apply. Just unzip the whole packet on top of your existing installation.

Or you can do a clean install to a new directory. Then the Tool will ask for location of data files, so you can keep using your old data files.

Update

To update, you can just unzip the whole .zip on top of your existing installation.

For simple update, just update the Telemetry.jar in the existing installation + the bin directory (new relays) + update the TelemetryToolPlugin.dll.

New Install

If you are doing a new install, just unzip the package anywhere in your system (can be in \program files or e.g. \bin\telemetry_tool). Then copy from the <telemetryTool install dir>\bin\rf2_plugin directory the TelemetryToolPlugin.dll to <rFactor 2install dir>\bin64\Plugins

On windows start the tool with runWin.bat and select the game mode. On first run the Tool will ask for the location of data files etc. and it will setup all things for you. The default settings should work well.

If you use the Tool on Linux/Mac, check the ReadMe.txt for details on running the Tool on those platforms.

It took much longer than expected to get this out.

Notable rF2 changes/fixes:

• -Updated the TelemetryToolPlugin.dll and optimized bit the data sending. Replace the old TelemetryToolPlugin.dll in the rF2 plugins directory with the one in bin directory.
• Fixed race history saving. Now even if you do just one single race, the race history + timing data will be saved (if enabled from the settings)
• Added Grip level to the Driving pane
• Added GEAR info to the Map tabs 'Name + speed' view
• Added tyre into to the Map tabs 'Name + Car' view
• Fixed track map adding so that new track encountered is immediately available for use, i.e. there is no need to restart the tool, if you encounter/have new track.
• Created few simple trackmaps for RF2: Download them from https://telemetrytool.com/addons
• Fixed negative wheel speeds saved to the lap data files
• Fixed issue, when multiple similar rows would be saved to lap data files. This will reduce the size of the lapdata files significantly.
• Also the game sometimes sends driver name as vehicle name. If I can find a solution to this, I will fix it,but I doubt there will be fix. In those cases the car name is the vehicle class.
• Fixed the text on the top of the window to be correct for each event
• Initial work to get proper laptime data stored. There are some small inconsistencies on laptimes. This will be fixed on a later release, as I plan to simplify the laptimes stuff on the Tool

Key new additions on this release:

• STATISTICS TABLE GRAPHS: Added session long view, where you can see key tyre data for all laps in the session. Very handy e.g. for ACC to setup the tyre pressures.
• MAP: Added forward pit window (or you can also select any car in the race to show, where they would land after normal pitstop).
• RACE INFO: Fixed some issues with fuel use calculations. It should now work better also at the start of the race.
• RACE TIMING: You can now select any driver and show their laptimes from the race.
• COMPARISON PANEL: You can now adjust the width of the data visual line. Makes easier to work with that data.
• Fixed race history saving. It should now work well in all games even, if you just do one race and quit the tool.
• RaceRoom Racing Experience support added
• AC multi-player support, i.e. data is now collected from all cars in the race, when you install the plugin. Also a lot of changes/fixes relating to multi-car data and other data. This works only on the PC version.
• rFactor 2, new plugin, which should put less stress on the network connection + plenty of fixes/tweaks
• AMS2: Added the new tracks + cars data
• A lot of little tweaks/fixes here and there.

Notable rFactor 2 fixes/changes/additions

rFactor 2

• Fixed the issue with data from online races not showing correctly.
• Fixed the issue where Thrustmaster SF1000 wasn't getting data during online races.
• Added some new data from the game to the Tool, e.g. TyreWear, Engine temperatures, Yaw etc
• Added FCY data to the tool, e.g. FCY will be shown at top like SC would be shown
• Added some telemetry data from other cars to the RaceTiming tab
• Added GEAR info to the Map tabs 'Name + speed' view
• Added temps to the Race Info
• Fixed issue, where the user added car list would not work correctly. The thing should sort itself out as you keep playing. If you want to sort this earlier, you can edit the rf2_cars_added.csv (in tracks\rf2) and make the id (first item on each line) to be ascending from the lowest number (something 1070+).
• Fixed the text on the top of the window to be correct for each event
• Fixed the data not resetting correctly when going from P->Q->R
• The game still occasionally does not send the data for all cars. I will keep checking this.
• Also the game sometimes sends driver name as vehicle name. If I can find a solution to this, I will fix it,but I doubt there will be fix. In those cases the car name is the vehicle class.

How to Update
Update from 12.0/12.1:

• Update the Telemetry.jar
• Update at least the tracks dir data for AMS2 and Kartkraft.
• There is also new AMS2 relay version, so update the bin/ams2_relay, if you use the Tool with AMS2

Update from pre 12.0 version, just unzip the whole package on top of the old installation. You can do this also if you are updating from 12.0/12.1.

To adjust/fix the track/vehicle ids, it is a good idea to run Tools -> Manage DB Data -> Fix database data
