Driven throughout the 2016 Australian GT Championship by Scott Taylor and Craig Baird, This car delivered Mercedes-Benz the AMG GT3's first racing win at the Albert Park circuit in a support race to the Australian Formula 1.

The duo went on to compete throughout the season in both the Australian GT Championship and the Australian Endurance Championship showing as a very strong pairing with the AMG before Scott Taylor was injured in an incident during a Carrera Cup round at the gold Coast.
Michael Almond was drafted to join Craig Baird for the Highlands round. After a very impressive weekend netting the the Aus GT round win, finishing 1st & 2nd in the two races, fastest lap in race two (lap record), Pole position for the Highlands 101 which they went on to win.
