Often forgotten - this is the sole #1 car that ran in the Fuji 1000km in 1999, which was a one off event and the first ACO sanctioned race held in Japan. The #1 car started strong, but a combination of tyre longevity issues, penalties and a battery replacement meant it fell out of contention to Nissan's new open-top prototype - the R391. The car finished 2nd overall in class, but ended up being a bitter end to the GT-One's career.
