RasmusP's LUTs for G27/29 and DFGT 2.0

I have a G29. I tried the simulations of AC, ACC, Rfactor2, RaceRoom, F1 with this steering wheel. In general, I was getting a flat feeling in all of them. Assetto Corsa's feedbacks are good. I was using the Lut I created with the Wheelchecker application before. It was good. But we are always looking for a slightly better driving experience. I applied the Lut settings you suggested (50% gain) and my experience was a separate pleasure. At the moment, there is a feeling closer to real car driving and the weight of the steering wheel is in consistency. The bends and curbs are more enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us race lovers.

Thanks for the review! Always very happy to read something like it! Like you say, I tried to get the wheel to feel as similar as possible to my road car and after achieving the best I could, I shared it with the community :)
The lut king! Very helpful and answers you quick. He just made 3 luts for me to test without any hesitation, i belive But rly, i truly appreciate it and I think others will to.

Thanks mate for this lovely review :)
Game changer with the G29-- high recommend the suggested LUT (the one used with 50% gain). 5 stars for the dev too, he is still super active in the discussion board helping others troubleshoot

im using an Old DFGT and those tables are really changing the flavour on how the Wheel Behaves and feels on ACC.. thank you!

Thanks for the review! Awesome to hear that the dfgt worlds well with it in ACC! You're the first giving feedback for the dfgt in acc so very good to know! Enjoy the driving :)

I have a G27 and have never liked the handling of the cars i ACC. Dead on center but twitchy off center. With this I can feel the car properly now and my lap times are starting to show it. Thanks for effort. It transformed the game for me.

Awesome! Thanks for the review, always makes me happy to hear that it brings joy to someone!
Made my customized LUT from lutgenerator and tried dozens of permutations and combinations but the feedback was just never right. Got this one, used the recommended on and bang on - works so precise. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you're enjoying it! I took the same path as you and then decided to get the knowledge and create something on my own. Great to hear that it's still useful to others!
Many thanks for improving my G29.
Interesting to setting up to ACC.....
is there any step by step or clue to inserting file .json to ACC from this setting?

thanks in advance

RasmusP
Thanks for stars! Here's a guide for acc from another helpful guy. Maybe that helps?

There are so many different interpretations and opinions on how to handle the G27 FFB...! I admit that this one is maybe the best one I found so far...
to be adjusted with the different cars, because they don't all react the same
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for your review! Hope you still enjoy it! You're right about the different cars. I couldn't test them all so it's more like a good baseline. Mostly adjusting the per-car-gain is enough to get a decent result from my experience.
Great LUT :) Changed my G27 feeling alot, Under the updates tab on this page i see you added this in september 2017 after this post was made

''To feel what the G27 is capable off: activate the centering spring to 150%. AC doesn't reach this level of force in my opinion! So I knew there was some headroom left for perfection! ''

My question ^ do we do this or just leave it, and what LUT is this for
RasmusP

Thanks for the stars! :)
The quote was to see what would be the maximum force the wheel can output. And I felt the clipping meter of AC cuts off a bit lower. So boosting the FFB level a bit higher after the clipping meter via the "recommended" LUT gives a stronger ffb into your hands.

But please disable the centering spring after testing this!! It's only for non-ffb games. Or to check the max force without running a game!
I think this file changed my life. Well okay, maybe not. But ACC was my least favorite GT3 sim until I installed it. Now I'm having a blast as I can actually feel the relevant information about what the car is doing unlike the random shaking of the wheel in the default. I run the gain a lot lower than suggested, fwiw--so you still have to adjust the sliders to your taste.

Haha that intro :D awesome to hear! Can you post me the exact wheel, which LUT file and your acc settings in the thread? Always interesting to hear what feels best for others as I could never test ACC with my LUT and my G27...
Thank you. Had a G27 for the past 7 years and used to play like 10 times a year due to literally not having fun while playing. Totally been sleeping on it's true potential. Now i'm having fun racing. Time to improve my driving. Thank you for the guide and effort.

RasmusP
Oh wow, I totally feel what you mean! Glad you enjoy the driving now! :)
Wow this is a great lut and have been using all the time, but the only thing that bothers me is that the no clip lut still clips for me. Is there a fix for this? Other than that, this is a great lut!
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the review! I have replied to your question in the support thread. You should have an alert for that :)
Used the recommended one for a while, but switched to the normal center recently and I prefer that one more :) Both have given me great experiences though, so thanks for that!
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the stars! :) They are very similar, the normal center lut was the base for the "recommended" one and the lut I mainly used myself before bringing the update!
You saved me with this. Now i can drive F1 cars on twisty roads.Thank you
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the review! F1 cars on twisty roads sounds exciting haha. Glad you can enjoy it now!
Congratulations on your work and thank you. Just to confirm, using ffbclip that theoretically serves to deliver the maximum ffb without clipping would not be a good combination with your LUT and other settings? Grateful!
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks :) ffbclip: my luts are created for the smoothest center position and that only works on a specific gain value, which is slightly different for each car. This center feel is more important than some mild clipping! So I wouldn't use ffbclip. Instead just use numpad +/- until the wheel simply feels best in your hands! I wouldn't go higher than 125% though!
Why can't I give 6 or even 10 stars? This is a game changer, believe me. From a "sloppy" G29 to a really firm, realistic feeling on track. Much appreciated! You should be at least get a large paycheck from Logitech!
Used the "no clip but stronger" FFB LUT file. This alone can save you from buying a new, much more expensive racing wheel because you think (!) your Logitech G29/920 was not good enough.
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks a lot mate! Always makes my day when I hear someone enjoys driving more with what I created :) I wish Logitech would implement a LUT or some similar settings into their software!
Thank you very much for the lut setting...i have used it on my brand new g29 and it was awesome compared to the standard lut generator settings...currently on the 'recommended'...but i just want to know if is it okay to use ffbclip app with ur lut setting?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for your review! We answered your questions in the support thread but for everyone: It's ok to use ffbclip, but I wouldn't recommend using it.
Thank you for your work! Everything works great!
