Natural Graphics Mod & Filter 4.0

Attempt to replicate what the eye sees rather than a camera, to get the best onboard view for driving rather than create photo-real external screenshots. No chromatic aberration, lens flares or erratic autoexposure. Post processing filter saves approximately 15fps over the default filters.

Tested with Sol 1.5.1. Screenshots are with sol weather
silver-rect-paypal-44px.png
Set saturation to 100% in graphics options and exposure to 100% (Page Up/Page down when on the track)
Unzip to the root of your AC install folder OR drag into Content Manager, then follow the instructions corresponding to your AC setup:

Content Manager + Sol (Preferred):
Enable Natural_Mod Filters. In graphics settings, Select Filter: Natural_Mod or Natural_Mod_Rift
It may be worth resetting your settings in the Sol Config app if you have made any adjustments and start fresh. Also check Peter's recommended settings for Lighting FX, Brightness and "Cars lit multiplier" in particular.
Minimum Sol version: 1.5

Content Manager (without Sol):
Using Content Manager, enable Natural_Mod Filters, Natural Weather and optionally Ben Lee + WagnumPI Clouds
In graphics settings, Select Filter: Natural_Mod or Natural_Mod_Rift

Vanilla AC:
Using JSGME or manually copying the files, enable Natural_Mod Filters, Natural Weather and optionally Ben Lee + WagnumPI Clouds
In graphics settings, Select Filter: Natural_Mod

Vanilla AC - VR:
Using JSGME or manually copying the files, enable Natural_Mod Filters, Natural Weather, Natural Oculus Rift Filter and optionally Ben Lee + WagnumPI Clouds
In graphics settings, Select Filter: default

Warning for VR Users:
If you use Content Manager and VR, ensure that "Override default PP filter in Oculus Rift mode" is ticked.
Suggest disabling Crepuscular Rays/Sunrays in the launcher due to this issue: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...m-all-angles-rather-than-just-from-sun.34556/
With Assetto Corsa closed:
Open JSGME/Content Manager, disable the previous versions of Natural Weather/Natural Oculus Rift Filter etc., then right click and delete them.
Follow normal install instructions

If you dont use JSGME/Content Manager, you should be able to work out what to do
Natural_Mod
Based on the default with the main tweaks as follows:
Camera effects like star shapes, chromatic aberration, vignetting etc. disabled
Autoexposure disabled (except when transitioning to night with Sol)
Glare tweaked for balanced interior and exterior effects
Neutral Colour temperature
Subtle tweaks to gamma, brightness, contrast saturation etc.

Natural_Mod_Rift
Natural_Mod tweaked for Oculus Rift CV1. I've been told it looks good in other headsets.

Natural_Mod_Photomode
For screenshots only, same as Natural_Mod except tuned to look more like a camera e.g. high quality DOF effect, shorter godrays, higher contrast, slight vignette
If you prefer a slightly warmer image, edit the ppfilter ini files and try these values at the end:

COLOR_TEMP=6250
WHITE_BALANCE=6500

Decrease COLOR_TEMP or increase WHITE_BALANCE for more warmth

Been using the _rift filter in VR for about a month now, on my Odyssey+. After trying a few other filters, this is the best one!!! great work!!

Brilliant! Yes I find most other filters too contrasty to feel realistic in vr
The quality of this filter is unrivalled. An absolute 10/10. And the best part? It works flawlessly in VR on my Valve Index, and even saves FPS performance to boot. Watch my VR onboard with this amazing filter and Sol 1.5.1. here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTaHcwIysEs

Thanks for the feedback Leon! Nice to see it used in your video :)
Thanks, good mod :)
Great work. Due to its relative efficiency with FPS I've used this pack's Natural_Mod (plus a little motion blur with CSP's Extra FX) for the screen captures of onboards in vids like this one (seen after the cinematic intro) https://youtu.be/PCtHPyrvT2A

Cheers for the review and continuous feedback! Small update to the .lua files soon to improve night racing on floodlit tracks (currently everything can get too bright with my settings
Great job, no words

Im only using csp with this mod and on my monitor im playing with the normal PP Filter "Natural_mod" but what should i use for VR, im using an rift s

glad you like it
extacts from the instructions below, I would use the _rift filter, there arent huge differences anyway:
Content Manager (without Sol):
Using Content Manager, enable Natural_Mod Filters, Natural Weather and optionally Ben Lee + WagnumPI Clouds
In graphics settings, Select Filter: Natural_Mod or Natural_Mod_Rift

Warning for VR Users:
If you use Content Manager and VR, ensure that "Override default PP filter in Oculus Rift mode" is ticked.

Loving it so far

Cheers for the feedback!
thanks
Works great! 4.0 makes the glare and sun rays really nice!

Quick question, when I updated to 4.0 I think turn my fxaa on. Should I leave it on? I use an Ocullus Roft and thought I heard it was pointless to have on in VR.

Glad you like it. Sun rays are best disabled in vr though unless you never turn your head. I have fxaa off as I think it can be a bit blurry. But it may need to be enabled if you want to use any of the custom as stuff in the shaders patch (not sure though)
Its awesome but on some kind of tracks i have black sky. Can someone tell me where i made mistake?

hmm thats strange, can you share more details in the discussion thread, link to the track etc. that kind of thing looks related to the .lua file that should be installed with the filter. If you enable the sol weather app and open it when it occurs, it will likely give a clue. Are you using a recent version of sol?
Excellent work! Thank you so much for your superb filter!
just perfect... must have!!!
It's great! Easily 5 stars
The best. Thank you.
There are really good filters and then, there is Natural Graphics mod.
Fantastic work
The first PPFilter I tried out and after several other ones, this is still my choice!
very good!
TOP. I use Natural mod for years.
Big improvement with my linked Oculus Quest! Thanks for making this filter

thanks for the feedback!
Your filter gives a lot of realism to this sim. Love it.
I just feel that, sometimes, sun rays get too intense and distracting
Thank you
I followed your instructions ( as I have Sol and CSP) and it works like a dream, and works so well, thank you for your work on this
