Hello everyone, it's Diego again.
I know I promised the last update would have been the last update. But there are a few things that have made me go back again to this car and update the Phoenix.

First of all, I have finally figured out what has been causing the bug that made all AI cars to pit on the final lap, ruining the offline experience a bit. This has finally been corrected.

This update however is mainly motivated because of the 2.4 Hours of Le Mans online event the Formula Student team is preparing for the 2nd of December. This event is a multiclass 2 hours and 24 minute event, using both the current MFT02 car and the MFT01. The event is fun and free for everyone, and everyone is more than welcomed to join (limited slots).

Changelog:
  • Recalculated fuel consumption, fuel capacity and pitstop times for all 3 cars. Should finally fix the issue that forced AI cars to pit at the end of races for no reaseon.
  • Recalculated pitstop times and tyre wear in preparation for the upcoming 2.4 Hours of Le Mans event

With the arrival of the brand new MAD Formula Team MFT02 mod (our 2022 FS car, have a look at it), I thought it would be appropriate to have a short look back to the MFT01, and bring one last update to correct 3 small issues I detected.

CHANGELOG
  • Revamped damper data.
  • Improved Hoosier tyre texture
  • Additional modifications to the tyre model from version 1.3

Happy holidays everyone!

To celebrate the upcoming holidays, I'm releasing a very cool update of the MFT01 fan car for all of you to enjoy!

  • Modification on setup page, increasing adjustability of toe angles.
  • Addition of mirrors to all 3 versions of the car (can be removed/installed in the “Visual” setup tab)
  • Tweaks to Force Feedback force.
  • Introduction of 4 new skins:
-GamerMuscle and RaceDepartment skins can be found in all 3 specs of the car
-A Christmas skin can be found in the standard and the EVO spec of the car
-In honour of Jason Milanov, the 2022 FSGP Series champion, (competition held on our simracing.gp community), a special skin has been created for the FSGP spec of the car

Hope you like this small present. Download it here!: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/halloween-2022-skin-mad-formula-team-mft01.55661/

Note: No changes have been made to the car nor the base content. Simply letting you know about this new additional skin
Sorry for the hotfix. I discovered a very annoying visual glitch with LOD B and LOD C, they have now been fixed
Following extensive feedback after a few races of the car on the simracing.gp Formula Student community, it has been decided to add a new spec of the car alongside the MFT01 and the MFT01 EVO!

The FSGP Spec, and unlike the other versions of the cars, have the fans always active, with no DRS feature. This is done in order to improve the racing product, since the DRS feature made the car very difficult to drive on wheel-to-wheel racing. Furthermore, this spec uses the 121bhp engine from the EVO.

On top of this new spec, the following changes have been applied on all versions of the car:

-Modified aeromap to better reflect the effect ride height has on downforce.
-Improved tyre model, with more accurate data.
-Recalculated unsprung and sprung masses.
I have realised I accidentally included some 3rd party skins the community has created for the car on the official pack. These have now been removed from this pack.

I however fully recommend you to check out the skins @zuno toto, @thejqka and @GMR Racing Design have put out. F1 skin packs, Mario Kart skins among others, and the quality is fantastic. Check them out!

Changelog
-Improved textures and dashboard resolution
-Improved DRS fan physics
-Added “PGE override” LED: this light warns the driver when the car exceeds 2G of lateral force, meaning the fans are forced on automatically until the G force decreases

I would also like to use this opportunity to let you know the team has now officialy released the successor of MFT01 in real life, the MFT02. Many months of hard work behind this new car
Quick hotfix solving issues encountered after launch.
  • Corrected typo that forced the ARB to be overly high on base setup
  • Increased ride height to 50mm on base setup to improve handling on bumpy circuits
  • Tweaks to PGE files to reduce rake effect
  • FFB tweaks to avoid clipping
Furthermore, I wanted to clarify there is an issue with the AI, which pit on the last laps of races as they run out of fuel. Please disable fuel burn if you experience this issue as unfortunately there isn't a fix to this problem. It is a bug embedded on AC, which causes the AI to miscalculate the fuel required to finish the race on cars with high revving engines and low fuel consumption (such as this FS car)

Finally, for best offline experience, limit your DRS usage to the areas where the AI uses it
