Brickyard Legends Team present :
1970 Ford Escorts mod pack.
This pack contains 4 different variations of racing escorts from 1970 year. There is several Escort mods already, but they are more or less averaged versions of several years of development. This mod focuses single year instead of trying to cover up several different yearly evolutions.
In 1970 Ford had all laid out to conquer almost all possible engine classes with same base car. Some of them were legends already like TwinCam and 1300GT, some were begining of their career and some were very scarse hand built test mules trying to do the impossible. Nevertheless, this shows the versality of the Escort platform very well.

Package includes following variations:
- Escort 1.0 BD
- Escort 1300GT gr2
- Escort TC gr2
- Escort BDB

1000cc BD
While Ford had 1000cc class steadily in control with Anglia in early group 5 years, things changed when Anglia was phased out. Escort was heavy and the 0.9 pushrod engine was not so powerful. That did not prevent Ford trying to run Escort in lowest class as well. There was two versions of racing 1 liter Escorts, first one being ran against Equipe Arden's BSCC championship winning Mini in 1969. It was based on same OHV engine which was sold in some european countries as smallest engine version. However as Escort was considerably heavier than it's opposition in same class, success was rather limited. For 1970 season engine got upgrade by getting BD-head. this boosted HP figures from 85hp to 141hp. However BD-engines are known to have the max power quite high in rpm curve and this 998cc screamer did no difference by having it's max power in 10000 rpm range. Engine was almost completely dead below 5000 rpm, which ment very slow standing start take off times. As BMC was gone now, Ford thought having good chance to natch all classes including this smallest one, but Bill McGovern thought same thing and Escort found itself again behind opposition, though not so much as last year. This time it was Imp's turn show that power is nothing, if you have several hundreds of kilograms more to drag around.
For some reason, even though the semi-factory racing in 1000cc class was forgotten, Ford keep homologating all kind of stuff to 1000cc Escort all the way as long as Mk I was manufactured.
The variation in this mod represents 2 skins from 1969 BSCC Season driven by Lawrie Hickman, but the physics represent the 1970 BD version. Vince Woodman drove the 1.0 BD in 1970 BSCC, but photographs are rather rare, so I am hoping someone else to add this skin.
This variation uses jandri's awesome BD/9000rpm sounds.

1300GT gr2
This one was simply evolution from 1968 and 1969 Group 5 cars. A bit more power though the engine was still OHV, so 149hp was pretty good achievment. few more years and BD technology came to 1300cc class as well. However as Mini did not have factory support anymore, 1300cc class was clean home run without much hassle.
Mod contains two skins for 1300GT, first one being broadspeeds entry to Silverstone weekend (which was shared event between ETCC and BSCC) and second one is very early Zakspeed entry to DRM 1970 driven by H. Menzel

TC gr2
Another easy development from previous years. Final year to this engine technology as top of the model line which was first shown in Elan almost 8 years down to road. BSCC things were easy, but in ETCC BMW 1600-2 TI tuned by alpina came and showed that this is not one man show.
Mod contains two TC skins. First one being Broadspeed's BSCC 1970 entry and Lawrie Hickman's own entry for BSCC Brands Hatch race.
This variation uses Ducfreak's awesome TC sounds.

BDB
Very first racing and rallying version of BDA street car. Did not show up until September 1970 and had rough start (in racing) by getting DNS due engine having so much power that other components could not handle it. BDB was mostly designed for rallying application, so torque was more important than power. BDC followed soon after with better fitting race tune and fuel injection. BDC was 1971's big success. However mod like this would not be complete if BDB would be missing.
Also this variation has two real world skins; first one is very first BDB outing in Thruxton August 1970 Driven by Frank Gardner. Second one is car that was used as press demonstrator by factory and shows up also in original RS1600 homologation documents.
This variation uses jandri's awesome BD/7500rpm sounds.

- the cars in this mod are linked to GTC-TC-76 class.
